    Shoulder strap makes the difference - Unique design - love it I was going to give this sleeve 4 stars but I'll boost it up to 5 for Amazons 5 star customer service. I have a 17.3" Toshiba Qosmio Laptop that fits very well in the sleeve. It's nice and Snug at the bottom and sides with about an inch of room left at the top area. Even with the extra room at the top, my laptop will not move around because the overall fit is snug, they just give you a little extra room in case you need to thrown in perhaps your power cord etc. The external detachable should strap is what I love the most and the reason I purchased the sleeve in the first place. My others lack this feature. Hidden inside the sleeve up top where the zippers meet are the handles for hand carrying. That's where the 4 stars come in. If you are using the handles, you can only close the zipper until you reach the edge of the handle, which leaves a small portion of the sleeve open underneath the handle. It doesn't hinder the functionality but it would have been nice to include a fold over flap to cover the exposed portion underneath the handles. Small design flaw. So I push in the handles, zip the bag all the way and just use the shoulder strap if it's bad weather. If the weather is okay, it doesn't matter about using the handles. If you like this bag, this same company (Meffort)has a combo that offers not only the bag, but the matching mouse pad, the matching kindle or ipad skin and the laptop wrist skin all in one bundle for just a few bucks more. The only difference is that you have to order from the company direct. I actually ordered from them first and didn't' realize Amazon had this one with prime but it didn't have the extra's. 5Functional and cool I really like this sleeve. It's not a general-purpose carrying case, just a protective sleeve that has handles and a carrying strap if you need them. I use it for my MSI Dominator Dragon, and it has been a huge help. Pranksters in my dorm have been setting off fire alarms all semester, and being able to quickly put the laptop into this and safely carry it out (rather than leaving it behind in a building that may be on fire) is a big help.The handles and general construction seem adequate to handle the weight of the MSI (nearly 10 pounds), although it probably wouldn't be a good idea to travel with it as the only case, or haul it around campus. And, of course, it looks cool. For it's primary purpose, protecting the laptop from scratches in the backpack carrier I have for traveling with the laptop, it has worked perfectly.I haven't used the shoulder strap, it seems adequate but would probably cut into your shoulder if you were using it for long. Of course, if you really had to, you could snap on a different strap with a wider/thicker cushion. 5I absolutely LOVE the design Honestly, I absolutely LOVE the design. My only two problems I had with this was 1) the inside handles... a little useless if you want to zip up the case & keep your laptop secure especially while traveling. I've seen some of the smaller versions of this in the same company with the handles on the outside, better design ;) However the shoulder strap makes up for it! 2) the case itself was a touch thinner than I expected. Will it keep your stuff from getting scratched up, yes, but that's it. Add in another layer of neoprene & you might be a touch better.Why am I still happy, honestly I wanted the design, I have a great laptop carrier, but wanted to save some space since I was just going to shove it into my carry on anyway. 4Very cute, eye-catching carrier that does its job Love this bag. Very simple and strong appeal, not bulky and hard so when it bumps into my side as I walk it doesn't bother me. Another pro: not many other laptop carriers on amazon offered a strap with the sleeve bag so being able to carry on my shoulder AND/OR with the hidden handles in my hand is a plus...never liked the idea of having to carry it like a baby.Why just 3 stars? Just three reasons that may not be an issue for another buyer:1) the clasps that connect to the carrier makes an awfully annoying sound when they rub together, as I walk. Doesn't matter the shoulder/side it's on, doesn't matter how I adjust the strap. Very similar sound to that of a sneaker that has a busted air bubble; that kind of squeaky/squishy sound you hear whenever you take a step. The clasps nor the parts on the carrier they connect to are rusty and I'm pretty creative so I've tried a million things to try to get it to stop--- haven't been successful yet. I think try using an oil next (one that doesn't attract any bugs or rodents) to very lightly oil the clasp and the metal part on the carrier anyway to see if it helps w/ the sound.2) I'm not comfortable w/ the level of protection the carrier offers should I accidentally drop the laptop (which I never plan to do). It's bendable and seems like any shock the laptop can receive would be immediately absorbed.3) There's no separate part for storing the power cord, etc which bothers me out of fear that the power cord will scratch the top of my laptop when it's in there. For now, I place the power cord and everything else that can damage the laptop in an overside ziplock bag and that seems to work, but considering the hassle of having to do that, makes me feel like I'd appreciate that option in a carrying case next time.Don't want to discredit the bag b/c I'm very satisfied w/ my purchase overall. Another pro: fits my HP 17.3" laptop perfectly. Not too big and not too snug. 3Side plastic is problematic It's beautiful, but one of the plastic things on the side broke the first time my daughter used it. It went back together, but it keeps coming apart, so it isn't safe for the laptop. I have one similar, and I've never had a problem with it, so this was very disappointing. 2This bag wasn't worth the price In my opinion it's hard to find a laptop bag that will fit my 17 inch HP laptop. So when I found this bag, I was thrilled!! It looks very decorated and well illustrated in the picture online but when I open my package and took the bag out, it wasn't all I had imagined. The color was a little dull and a lot more flimsy than I imagined. with my HUGE 17 inch laptop in there, there was still a lot of room to spare. My laptop would slide around. I emailed the company to return the bag and they responded promptly, which I do appreciate. It just wasn't all that I had imagined. It's not worth it. 1Terrible Never received it. I received a 10" with the sticker of the 17" over top of it. It is clear to see the size difference between a 10" case and a 17" case. This was such an inconvenience. :-( 1Laptop holder It has not worn or broke on me so for after owning it for a year. 5CRAP!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!! Too bad that there is no ZERO star rating! This is cheap! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND DON'T BUY!!!!! Ripped after 2 months and now I can't return it and I am left without a bag. 1good, but with issues I buy constantly from amazon and I know by now the exact color things are... this sleeve colors seem burn... the paint is darker and not as vivid but still very pretty.I have a 16.4 inch lap and expected the sleeve to be a little big but not 2 1/2 inches on top and 2 at the side! I put it inside my bag for extra protection and have to fold it because is way too big on my 17" bag!The advantage of the sleeve size is that when I grab it by itself I can put my charger, mouse and other gadgets inside.The padding is very thin, not that much protection.The other problem was the packaging and I took one star just because of it. it had a small piece of cardboard inside that left a dent in the material and still has it after a few weeks. 3
