Heavy duty StandI bought this stand to compliment an Apurture LS1s LED video light and a few other accessories for video production. When reviewing comments on the LED lights mounted to lighter, more portable stand outdoors, it was pretty clear there was some sway due to weight of the light, softbox and accessories. I can absolutely assure you this will solve that problem. When the stand arrived, I was extremely surprised at the build quality, sturdiness and weight.When reviewing competitors stands, (height, extendability, features) this is a solid alternative to pricier products in the same class.I will note that due to the stand's mass\weight, this is probably better suited to a studio scenario vs a pack and go interview kit. If you had three of them, your looking at 60 pounds to lug around. This is not a fault of the product in any way, just something to consider if you plan on bringing it to a shoot. For a permanent studio stand this is a solid choice.5Solid qualityImpressive C-stand. The legs swing freely and lock tightly. Being able to custom adjust them like this gives me much more leverage when shooting and lets me hang my lighting in places I couldn't before. I'm surprised the base is still as secure as it is, but it works! The strong arm stays very steady when in place and doesn't budge at all with my hunky strobe on it and the grips are really nice and let me inserts my reflectors on too.5Solid!I already have an Avenger C-Stand and needed a second "for the field." This thing is a tank. Very solid. Here in Hawaii wind is usually a concern when shooting outdoors, and the weight of this stand will add a little more assurance that it'll stay put. The only thing I really noticed was the lack of a rubber bushing between the two main stem pieces. The Avenger has one. So if you aren't careful when collapsing it, you could have some metal on metal impact. Still, it's a well made stand.5A lot of value for the money.For the price, this thing rocks. I have Kupo/Avenger C-stands and this one offers a lot for the money. You do get a little more with the name brands such as easier folding legs and better grips (These grips suck since they do not have a spring), but for the price, this is very good. Yes it is heavy, but that's also a good thing if you're mounting your camera or strobe. If you're putting something heavier on them, I'd probably grab a set of sandbags to be safe, but these stands hold my a6300 and LED studio lights perfectly without the need for a sandbag.5Perfect - a tremendous buy.Works well in my studio and is a tremendous value for the money. Highly recommended.5Very nice C-Stand!For many years, I've been using heavy duty light stands for my off camera strobe work. While usually stable enough, there are times, like shooting with my strobe outdoors, thinks can come precarious. I finally decided to bite the bullet, and buy a C-stand to attempt to add more stability to my outdoor setup. It arrived, and WOW, this thing is solidly built and heavy! It's steady as a rock, even in a boom configuration. I can mount a Paul Buff White Lightning strobe with a 22 inch beauty dish attached, with the boom arm at full extension, and it's solid as can be, there is very little flex and wobble. The only caveats are: You need to buy what is called a "baby pin" to use in the second knuckle on the boom stand. It adds to the versatility. And make sure you get a set of sandbags to put on the tall, long leg, to make sure everything remains balanced. And you're set! I am going to have to get used to carrying this thing around on location, since it's really heavy, but it's worth it!5
