    Very durable gloves! I have had these gloves for almost a year now and they are still solid and going strong. I work in the fire service so these gloves are constantly getting soaking wet, drying out, and then being re-used. One thing that confused me initially; when you look at the photographs of these gloves you will see two different versions. Some of them have reinforced material on the index finger and thumb tips in black. Other photos have solid leather for the entire finger with reinforcing. The gloves I got had the black reinforced tips. I'd prefer not to have anything stitched on the tips of the fingers since the stitching from my last pair of Mechanix gloves started to separate there. I went with it anyway and so far after a year the stitching is still holding up and there are no parts of the finger tips coming apart. These have definitely been worth the money even if I had to replace them at this point after a year they don't show any signs of wearing out. I'll buy another pair without question next year if they hold up that long. 5I ve tried regular, 4x material and the leather mechanic ... I ve tried regular, 4x material and the leather mechanic gloves. All three pairs lasted about a month. I do construction and only used when doing carpentry. In fact if I were to demo or do a dirty job, I d make sure to take them off and put on a ansi 1 glove cuz everytime I used mechanic I would have to baby them, everytime something would rip or fall apart. 1Less durable than last generation and poorly made I have purchased dozens of Mechanix gloves over the years. The last generation of these gloves had black reinforced finger tips. These gloves do not and do not wear as well. My pair had a stiching defect in the palm that wore through in less than a week of package and material handling. Sometimes Mechanix needs to not reintroduce gloves because it seems like every new generation is cheaper in some way. 3weak stitching Wanted to like these - the material was definitely tough, and more dexterity than I expected. The problem here is the same with most Mechanix gloves - the stitching. Day One - used for miscellaneous tasks at the range, handling some lumber and steel for targets, loaded different types of magazines (like I said the dexterity was decent) - but while loading stripper clips into pmags i noticed the stitching became loose on the middle finger of my top hand. The stitching came loose. I returned them as defective because there is no way this should have happened - but 4X material means nothing if the stitching isn't beefed up. Disappointed. 2Good dexterity poor stitching Great gloves with pretty good dexterity, I had to order a size down from my normal size though. As with other reviews the stitching is the weak point, some of the finger stitching has come out and also in the palm. At $30 a pair I would hope the stitching was better, not sure if I would buy them again. 3Durable glove I do a lot of chainsaw and ranch work. I have tried a lot of brands of gloves. Some last only a few days before holes start in the fingers and I need to use the military glove field repair, i.e. wrapping the fingers with Gorilla tape. These gloves held up much better than most. I also very much like the Velcro strap feature as it keeps the gloves in place. I will definitely buy this model of glove again once these finally wear out. 5Decent. Overall, decent. Decent gloves. I work with sharp steel and have tried the regular m-pact gloves as well as these 4x. The 4x held up about the same time in the conditions but they definitely felt thicker and I was more comfortable working with sharp steel. The stitched patch on the upper palm is coming off, just the same as the regular m-pacts and why I needed to buy a new pair.So overall, they're better for more dangerous jobs but they last just the same as regular m-pact gloves. So it's your choice on how much padding you would like for the price. If you're not dealing with sharp stuff a lot, regular ones do just fine. Sharp stuff, the extra padding adds a bit of mental ease I'll easily slice a finger or palm etc.Good gloves though. 4they fit pretty well, I took a gamble and ordered small ... These were a replacement for an older pair of Mechanix Wear gloves that the fingers were about worn thru after my last project of building and replacing both of my fence gates. I read some about info about synthetic leather that was supposed to last longer and be more durable so one of the reasons I chose these. I land between a small and medium on size and since my old pair was a small and after being broken in, they fit pretty well, I took a gamble and ordered small on these. Good choice, the fit is excellent and as I use them for chores or projects, hope they will work as good or better than my old pair. Got a good price on these due to Amazon points and fit, finish and seams all look really good. Very happy with the purchase! 5These gloves have been way better than the other Mechanix Wear gloves I got that ... These gloves have been way better than the other Mechanix Wear gloves I got that had the new fake leather they are somehow pawing off on their "work glove" line. If you are going to get any from this line get these. However I am only a few weeks into wearing them so if they don't hold up I'm going to just get a pair in black of the M-Pact tactical gloves like I have that have held up to almost 6 years of abuse in the military cause they are actually made with real leather. 4Failed after wearing only two times doing demo work I had a pair of mechanix that lasted me years! I bought these to replace them and wow was I disappointed! They re comfortable I ll give them that but they are not durable! I m very displeased and you should beware. On the second time I ever wore them doing demo work and they tore. Thank goodness nothing bad happened! 1
