    only intended to take very small pieces of tile off at a time Good for cutting off very small pieces of porcelain or ceramic tile, as designed. Not good for cutting large pieces of tile, as it is not designed for. The handle is rubbery, comfortable to hold and the long handles provides leverage for cutting. Easy on my hands, and the clip to hold them closed is very handy. I actually get a little excited when I think of using them. And the price is terrific! Plus they're good looking, too. 5Shatters glass/tile! No straight lines/shapes, pulverizes mosaic & peices/shards fly everywhere! I decided to try these and the round wheeled glass mosaic nippers. I honestly thought these were going to be the better of the two & I was sooo disappointed. Using these requires a good amount of effort & strength to push hard enough for them to "cut" and shape glass or tile and they dont cut a straight line at all. They more just smash the peice of tile or glass you are trying to shape & peices of said glass or tile go flying EVERYWHERE! Maybe if I was stronger they would work better? I can only guess, but there's no way I could use them to do any kind of nipping or shaping. They just shatter the glass/tile and you end up with nothing that resembles any kind of line or purposeful shape. I would not recommend these to anyone. 1Great quality, cuts like a dream Super sharp and cuts perfectly. Handles are chunky which lets you get a good grip and prevents blisters if you re doing a lot of cutting. I used then to cut thicker mosaic tiles and it did the job with ease. Purchased to replace older dull nippers an what a difference 5Great until it's Not I'm actually quite disappointed in this nipper. I have used it maybe 4 times now to nip ceramic plates and today it basically nipped itself as you can see in the attached picture. And of course this happened literally 5 days after my return window was closed. I thought this was a great nipper before this happened. I'm a 135 pound woman and had no trouble using it at all. I was able to nip the shapes and sizes I wanted with very little effort. Extremely disappointed that this happened, especially since Im in the middle of a project. 1Nippers developed a gap where the cutting edges stoped coming together and would not cut through the piece of tile. I made only three cuts with the tool and then it would not come together to make any more cuts. There was a gap and I did not see any way to adjust the tile nipper so I have decided to send it back for a refund. It did seem nice and heavy duty but then it stopped working correctly. 1Compound Is Better I purchased these nippers when starting on my third tile bathroom. Man, I wish I had found them sooner! They are sooooo much easier to use than the cheapie, non-compound ones I got at Lowes. These didn't hurt my hands and no blisters.I have a wet saw, too, which I use for all the big, straight cuts. But for curved cuts or for cutting small tiles, a tile nipper is essential. There is a learning curve, and I suggest you purchase a couple of extra tiles to practice on if you haven't used nippers before. I have also found that scoring the tile where you want the cut first (with a scoring tool) gives me almost perfect results! As another reviewer mentioned, take small "nibbles" rather than trying to nip off a big chunk. Once you get the hang of it, these nippers let you work quickly and accurately without the hand fatigue. 5ZERO STARS!!! Cheaply made and very ugly I am embarrassed that I fell for this. I realize the description says this is an mdf clock with a paper face. But it is so very, very cheap looking and incredibly ugly. The picture resolution for the face is horrid and the hands are very wobbly and I haven't unpackaged it yet.I bought this for a cabin so I wasn't expecting the highest quality and value for $20. This clock might be worth $5 some day...but I doubt it. I won't even donate this because I doubt anyone will want it. You can't tell from the picture that the handles have a spring to automatically reopen them, but they do - and it works fine. Breaking tiles is not easy on the hands, manually reopening a nipper is a pain, and my hands aren't young, so I like all the features on this well-designed nipper. It's now one of my two favorite tile nippers. It will replace several other nippers that I already had. Better made than I expected for the price. 5Compound cutters like these are a lot easier to break mosaic tile ... Go compound or go home. Compound cutters like these are a lot easier to break mosaic tile than single pivot cutters.Handle quality on these is very comfortable and well made. These cut 3/4 x 3/4" mosaic tile with ease. As with any cutter, the results differ depending on the type of tile being cut. For porcelain or regular ceramic these are great. 5
