Customer Reviews

perfect for every day carry this knife is small very strong and durable and very very razor sharp. it comes with a good quality leather sheath that holds the knife securely and looks really good. the handle might be to small for people with large hands but still more than gets the job done.the edge retention on this blade is incredible i carved some wood, tested on many sheets of paper, and it still shaved the hairs off my arm. 5Sharp, well made, good value Pros:Very sharp out the box, sharper than a mora, retains an edge very well, a few passes on a strop after some abuse and it shaves with ease.Excellent Finnish workmanshipGrippy handleGood leather sheath with a plastic linerExcellent valueConsVery short handleA few imperfections on the cast finger gaurd, not a deal breaker or a surprise at this priceA very good knife, good for detail work, I did some whittling with it, the blade is really amazing for what it costs. Wish the handle was an inch longer, difficult to grip solid with big hands, but for fine work with a light grip it is really great. I own a few dozen knives, some high quality, some dirt cheap. This knife is the sharpest of the lot. I'm a big Mora fan, but Marttiini makes some really excellent knives for a few bucks more than a Mora. 5Size matters This is a wonderful little knife - emphasis on little. Be sure to read the specs. I measured the interior distance from the front guard to the rear swell; it was a bit over 3 inches. Be forewarned. Ergos are fantastic on the Little Classic. Makes a nice kitchen utility knife. If you want a really tough scandi in this size, consider the new TOPS Scandi Trekker in 1095 carbon steel. Five times the price, however. 5A small good looking knife. Just as the name indicates, It is a small knife. The blade is significantly narrower thank a mora companion. The handle is also small, probably bot a good fit to big hands. The finnish looks fine. Blade is sharp but not as sharp as a mora. All in all a good looking little knife. 4Good little knife - neck knife This compares favorably with the Mora line of knives. I like the stainless and it comes razor sharp. It costs a few bucks more than the Mora and comes with a nice leather sheath with a plastic insert in the sheath where the tip is to prevent the blade from cutting the leather. This is Finland European quality and I can use this as a scraper for my firesteel and it works great. This is a $20 knife and do not expect to do heavy duty work with it as it is not made for heavy use. I like buying quality products NOT MADE IN CHINA and this is it. Finland is next door to Sweden where the Mora is made and very comparable in quality. Marttiini is well known in Finland and is like "Buck knives" here in the USA.These work great for creating a spark with Firesteels.... 5Nice little knife The Marttiini Little Classic is the same size as the Lynx Lumberjack, a knife I like a lot. It has a stainless blade where the Lynx has carbon steel. It has a hard rubber handle with a single guard and flared pommel. The Lynx has a rough birch handle, same flared pommel, and a bolster with no guard. The Classic comes with a vinyl leatherette sheath, where the Lynx has an embossed leather sheath. The pictures do not do this knife justice. It looks and feels a lot better than they let on. At about $19, half the price of the Lynx, it is an excellent value. The manufacturer touts this knife for people with small hands, women and children. Nevertheless it works fine with my medium-sized hands, using a three-finger grip and cupping the pommel in my palm, perfect for pushing the clip point into an object. The blade is shaving sharp out of the box, has an excellent reputation for edge retention, and should be as easy to maintain as any other Scandi blade. I have not yet had the chance to really work it hard, but it is a dandy cigar cutter, and looks to be as good a worker as my Moras. 5its a really cool little knife with a tiny little handle I thought this was a smaller blade knife with an adult sized handle. wrong! its a really cool little knife with a tiny little handle. I gave it to my son and now when we go hiking or camping he feels really macho because he has a bad a$$ scandi grind bush Knife that looks just like Dad's! Its crazy sharp like all Marttiini knives right out of the box, so he only gets to carry it when well supervised but it is perfect for a first fixed blade field knife for a child or perhaps a woman with smaller hands. if you are a man with medium to large hands, the handle on this knife will likely not be comfortable for you.The sheath is very nice, the blade is brightly polished like most Marttiini's, the handle material is aggressively grippy and feels very hard. the only thing that is a bit deceptive from the image is the metal at the hilt. In the image it looks brightly polished like the blade but in fact it is a frosty cheaper looking metal. Not sure if it is some kind of cast steel or sand blasted, but I saw some rough seams which are likely to be artifacts of a die casting process. 4Compact fixed blade knife I bought this as a small fixed blade knife to fit in my lunch bucket pouch. It fits well and is sort of an extended Mora Eldris. Knife was flawless. I can get all fingers comfortably on the handle. I can see someone having very large hands not having a comfortable grip. The handle will fit most people. I like the handle of the Little Classic better than the small Buck Lite Max that I have. 5A great ( little) knife. This is most definitely a little knife in comparison to my other knives. It s sharp right out of the package I refined the edge even more using a 10000 whetstone making it extremely sharp. It s the perfect size to carry as a utility knife. I would not use it or depend on it for anything other then small cutting jobs. The tip is so pointy and thin that I have had to restraighted it 2 times because it has slightly bent. The tip is soft. I m afraid it will break at some time if enough pressure is applied to it. I don t abuse knives and I won t just to see if it can handle the abuse. I wish the sheath had the ring system it s bigger brothers have. It gets pinched in my belt when sitting. Reason for losing a star. Besides that it s a great little emphasis on little. Great pearing knife tape knife box knife small job knife. A small knife has its place. I like it allot if the sheath was fixed it would be awesome. 4Small and sharp Not bad. This knife has a small handle, it probably will not fit your hand but if you can forgive that it has a sharp blade and a well put together construction. I would by Marttiini again 3
