    Just like original I use these for replacement parts into my Malibu lighting system. Cast aluminum, just like my original parts. After several years, the original lights can become stained by hard water, and wiring can corrode. These make the system new again, and for relatively low cost. 5Puzzled Bought several of a previous model 20 watt Malibu outdoor light fixture and kept having bulbs burn out too quick. Also had one leak and corrode really fast. I ordered this different model and just got a call from mom that the "new light" was out again. Its almost becoming a joke as to how fast they will burn out, this last one lasted about 10 days. They are under an overhang and the voltage is correct (3rd transformer...don't ask).Wouldn't you think an outdoor light system would be pretty simple?? Just buy a brand name and your good? I am really sorry I ever started this project but mom is getting up there and she needs to see at night when going to the spare fridge/pantry in the shed. I did buy some quality replacement bulbs from Amazon to see if its just a matter of mega-cheap cruddy stock bulbs. The reason for 3 stars (a "like" rating) is this fixture seems really nicely made and tough. It really looks and feels the part. I am willing to give it and Malibu another go here but they better perform this time or all the lights get the boot. MM 3Great fixture with slight modification for LED MR16 bulbs These are great, sturdy fixtures. I wanted to retrofit with LED bulbs but had to experiment a little to get it to work. I tried several combinations but was never really happy with the beam pattern using the stock reflector.Eventually I settled on FEIT MR16 non-dimmable lights from Lowes in the landscape light section. They're about $8 (March 2016) but work fantastic. The non-dimmable part is important - since the length of wire causes a voltage drop, dimmable LED or regular incandescent lights will be dimmer at the end of a run vs. non-dimmable LED. The internal circuitry keeps them the same brightness whether they see 8v or 12v.In order to modify the light, I took the reflector out, and pushed the bulb socket back to the rear of the housing to make room for the MR16 bulbs. It takes a little bit of fiddling to get it to go in, but it's not hard. (See the pictures for details) I'm very happy with the result.In the photo of the house below, all the illumination (except path lights) is from these fixtures and the Lowes FEIT bulbs. I attached a few pictures of the assembly process, but they seem to be showing up out of sequence. I'm sure you can figure it out. 4Good light horrible connectors These are good lights for the price. The one drawback and its major is that Malabu as long as they have been around and as big as they are in the landscape lighting business these wire connectors are as bad as it gets and are very hard to get to work as intended. I should give it two stars for this problem that they coul easily fix. The light is great and the shipping under Prime is great. Cut the connectors off and hard wire stupid to have to do but the only real good solution. 3They are easy to set up and work just fine - for a month or so. Don't buy. Over the years the lights that I bought at Home Depot have broken down and I only have three spot lights left with wiring that runs through my whole garden. I'm adding these to augment the few that are left. I've put in two of the three so far and they work just fine. I'm hoping they last long and withstand the elements better than most of the older ones.Update: One light failed in about 3 months, a second failed in about 6 months. One still works. Anyone know what the warranty is on these and how to use it?Update 2: I tried to change a bulb. Can't be done, these lamps are one-and-done. Trash.Update 3: Well, there is no warranty because the seller, Malibu, is no longer in business, But the overstock is still being sold on Amazon - without a warranty of course (whether or not there was one originally). 1Well Made and Performs Well Bought this fixture to replace a broken/non-working fixture on my outdoor light set. It is an exact replacement, was easy to install, and performs well. No regrets with this purchase. 5Tough floodlight that can be easily converted to LED. Very durable light with a solid locking front glass. Get rid if the halogen bulb and get a MR11 replacement(picture). I removed the reflector and re screwed the socket back in. The LED replacement fits without any other modification and the 2.4w LED replacements are 3000k and so they provide a incandescent look (warm) with a very wide even light. The price of exterior lighting can be so expensive but i have around $20 bucks in each of these with the LED bulbs and am looking forward to NOT having to replace halogens and redo connections because of the wattage the halogens pull. 5The new Malibu fixture is larger which helps dissipate the ... The new Malibu fixture is larger which helps dissipate the heat from the very hot 20W halogen bulbs, but the new connection system is just awful. The old system had a round solid screw in/push down system to connect into your supply cable. The new system is a flimsy press in/push in type that works 50% of the time. However, the new larger fixture can fit an MR16 3W RGB color changing bulb with a minor modification. This creates a unique color changing capability and much less watt cosumption. 3Very Disappointed. I purchased 5 of these lights, not the first time I have purchased them. 4 out of 5 the connectors broke while I was attaching to wire. Not happy.So now I have 4 brand new lights that I cannot use because one or both the connector prongs broke off. I'm really angry. I'll go back to the Paradise brand, even though they're most $$ they're more reliable and durable and I've never had this kind of problem. 1Not good After about a month it's no longer working. Tried everything, new bulb, reset connectors, still not working. Sending back.... 1
