    Step down in quality from previous Lumitec products.I have used Lumitec product Caprera2 on my first sailboat and was very impressed with the design and the quality. The products were machined from quality aluminum and powder coated and had stainless steel mounts. I really liked the dimming and two-color tech they invented. I ordered this product "Lumitec Zephyr LED Spreader/Deck Light" designed to be a deck light specifically designed to be mounted on sailboats spreaders or mast. I think Lumitec was trying to save money and designed the mounting plate out a cheap plastic that snaps on their new Zephyr aluminum light. I did not even imagine or realized that Lumitec would even consider using a plastic base for their expensive light. The cheap plastic base has no chance to survive the harsh marine environment of UV plus saltwater and other elements. I ordered 3 lights to mount on my new sailboat for delivery to the UK. One of the lights had the open-box condition and had the cheap mounting plate missing from the box. I suspect someone ordered and then returned the lights minus the plastic mounting plate because they damaged it. I called Amazon and they were super helpful and suggested I return the light to them and they will reimburse me or send a new one. However, I ordered it from Amazon US site for delivery to the UK and that complicates things for me as I have to pay to return it to the US. Anyway, this message for Lumitec please reconsider the cheap plastic design of the base and design something worth your name and reputation in the sailing community.3
