Much more useful than I anticipated This is my first keyring light. I've just never bothered to buy one before, because I thought I would rarely use it. I find that I use this thing all the time. Yesterday I had to navigate a restaurant bathroom at night that had no lights. I just turned the Photon on, put it on the sink, and I could see everything in the room that I needed to see.It is bright enough that if necessary I could use it as a bicycle headlight at night. I couldn't ride fast, but I could ride.Hurray for the new ultra-bright LED technology! 5Great light for night work FYI. DEMO MODE: The Photon Micro-Light II Pro is shipped in a "demo" mode which will turn the light off automatically after 12 seconds (to protect from being turned on & left on while sitting on a store shelf). For first-time use, press and hold the button for approximately 20 seconds (until the light turns off) to disable this demo mode.Other than that....Great light for night work. I keep the light looped to my pocket for writing in the dark. 5Boooooooo I loved my Photon for years and years on backpacking trips and couldn't wait to try this BA version. Well, a month on my keychain and a little water and poof! No more flashlight. I guess it's just not worth ponying up for the 'nicer' one, but am still sold on the Photon in principle. 1Wow! Not sure what else I can say that hasn't already been said but this tiny light is surprisingly bright and easy to use. I like that the battery is replaceable (uses on CR 2016 "button" battery) and the overall quality of the build. This little light is super handy to have around for all sorts of things (my girlfriend keeps one in the bathroom to check the status of the toilet before sitting down when nature calls late at night). I'm going to reiterate another reviewer's helpful instructions about the light shipping in "Demo Mode" (which turns the light off automatically after 12 seconds) because that was really irritating me. A good thought since it will prevent the battery from being drained accidentally during shipping but annoying until this feature is turned off. To turn off Demo Mode: Press and hold the "ON" button until the light goes off by itself; this takes about 20 seconds. Once that happens the switch is one press for "ON" and another press for "OFF", just as you would expect. Thanks, Other Reviewer, who's name I forgot! 5Best light of this size you can get. Bright! XLNT. I'm really impressed with the PII Pro. It's the brightest light of this size I've tried, and it throws a nice beam, hot in the center but with some spread, amazing and very useful output for such a tiny thing.I just gave up on another brand with a switch that just wouldn't stay off, and was thus too annoying to carry. This one is perfect for the key 'biner. This has a quality look and feel, easily worth the extra bucks over cheap generic versions for carry. Nothing sucks like needing light and lacking it; carry at least one quality light at all times. I got a bunch of the little cheapies to scatter around in cars and toolbags and such, but it makes sense to carry a good one.I'll post an update if it ever fails or does anything wrong, but so far the PII Pro seems pretty ideal.As others have said, it ships in demo mode, which turns off automatically after a few seconds to save battery. You have to hold down the button for twenty seconds, till the light turns off, to get it out of demo mode, if you want to be able to actually use it. It's just tragic that some reviewers here couldn't figure that out without so much needless suffering. RTFM, kids.There's absolutely no function to this light but off/on; no strobe, dimmer, and no ability to do Morse code, because of the electronic switch. The instructions are: Press button for On/Off. That's it. That's fine with me; I don't know any Morse code apart from SOS anyway... I sort of assumed that because this light has a microprocessor, it would know some tricks or dim or something, but nope. It's a small, bright white light, with a demo mode. Period.It also comes with a little plastic holder "docking station" strung on a garrotte, I mean a thin cord. Not something I'd wear around my neck, but whatever, it's an option. You can store the light clipped to it one way for access, the other way to prevent the switch from being hit.Good gear, get at least one! 5Great light but consider the Freedom instead because it has the same simplicity as this one but more flexibility Great light, bright, robust construction, light, small, replaceable batteries, simple on-off single mode light... BUT I would recommend instead getting the Freedom light (same brand) which has the same simplicity but also lots of hidden modes that stay completely out of your way unless you need them. 5Small and bright! This light is tiny, but throws an incredible amount of light! Build construction is top notch and LRI customer service is first class! My unit after being on my keyring for a month, decided to start doing random things like flickering, turning off etc. I'm assuming I had the unfortunate luck of receiving a bum unit. I shipped my unit to LRI under the warranty, and they quickly sent a replacement unit no questions asked! The new unit has been working flawlessly for a couple minths now... 5Works grear I wear this around my neck to augment my EDC gear. It s so light, I barely notice it.The light works great. It s surprisingly powerful and I like how you don t need to keep the button pressed to keep the light on. That s good for, say, holding it in the mouth, which I might have done.I even wear it at home. It came in real handy when I was in my apartment building s large basement storage area, and the lights went out for some reason. Pitch black darkness. Well, I just pulled this little guy out from under my shirt and found my way to the door with no problem. 5This thing is wonderful! I replaced an existing similar light on my key chain with this one. I used it today to look for a lost gold crown in my purse before an oral surgeon appointment. I didn't find the crown but the little light was perfect. I expect great things from it and a long life, haha typed log life. 5Fantastic Product The LRI PII Pro Beam LED light is an absolutely fantastic product. In my opinion the beam is tremendous for such a tiny device, and the ease of operation is...well...easy. When I first received the light I did as another reviewer suggested and held down on the activating button for about 20 seconds. The light then shut itself off. Now all I have to do in order to manually turn the light on and off is to simply push the device's back side button for "on," and once again for "off." Couldn't be simpler!As I mentioned previously, the beam of light is tremendous! Don't go expecting 200 lumens; but for most low light applications requiring a smidgen of light the Photon II is far and away more than adequate. I clip mine to my keychain and have discovered that I tend to use it a lot more than I originally anticipated. It seems rugged enough, too. My two cents: I don't think there is a better inexpensive and unobtrusive mini flashlight out there. 5
