Might be too bright for 8 foot ceilings Put this in as a replacement for a hanging fixture in my kitchen. I have 8 foot ceilings and I would say this is actually a little bit too bright especially since the light emits flush with the ceiling, not up inside a can (a little hard on the eyes). It would probably be just right on a 9 foot ceiling.It comes with wengos which are 21st century wire connectors, don't cut them off thinking that your wires in your old wire nuts aren't compatible. 4Bad flickering ** Update - after receiving another and replacing it, it also flickered ever so slightly.. I replaced the switch and all is well, so I will upgrade my original one star to just three stars since my former light on the same switch worked just fine. I moved that switch to another location and the light on it works just fine. I feel the product is pretty finicky with what switches it decides it will play nice with.Original : The light is flickering badly. Standard switchthat controlled the previous light, not a dimmer switch. Bad driver? I dunno but it makes you sick it flickers so bad. All connections are tight and proper. 3As Advertised. Way better than 4" Remodel Cans I wanted an alternative to the sloppy 4" remodel cans with the stupid clips that never fit flush. These are as flush as you'll ever get. Light color is accurate. They DIM all the way down on my Lutron dimmer. Super easy install.My only gripe is that the junction box and connectors design only allows for 2x remote sources to be cabled. I had to do a lot of extra cabling and packing on the first light that linked the switch and fed it's partner light as well as the next row. Had I known this ahead of time, I could have pre-run the cabling differently in a daisy chain fashion, but it was already too late. 4Great light! 3000k May skew colors These look amazing when installed. They provide a softer/yellower color white that I was looking for. The only downfall is that these are only cri(color rendering index) of 80. 90+ is considered standard in today s world, basically meaning the color you see in natural light, is the same color you ll see when this light is on. These definitely make the color look different. Make my nearly true gray have a noticeable blue hue when they are the soul light source. 4Great lights! Great lights and easy to install. I put these on a standard dimmer (compatible with LED/CFL) and have not noticed any flickering, and dim very well. The 3000K color is very soft, and these lights spread a very wide beam. FYI - A 4" hole is too small for the 4" model. Use a 4-1/8" or 4-1/4" hole saw. I installed these in my lath and plaster ceiling and used a 4-1/4" hole saw, which worked great. 5Installed 4 units today This product is well engineered and is relatively easy to install. There are push-ins for wire connections. I was using 12-2 and the wires fit snugly. You can look at the side of the clear plastic connector to make sure your wire is seated properly. Plenty of room inside the box to daisy chain these fixtures. A hole template is provided. The spring clamps are ingenious and firmly clamp the light in place. My install was in a drop ceiling.I got 4- 4" lights rated at 3000k for a warm incandescent look. The room is 15x15' and it is now very bright. I'm thinking for coverage 80-100 sq ft per light. 5Canister is way too small for many installations. Installation is impossible given what is provided. There are knockout holes for 4 lines but only two lines can fit in the tiny receptical cannister. I needed to bring in the power line (everyone does) and then connect two other lines for lights I the series - so three lines. My beams limited my flexibility. The push wire nuts provided only accommodate the power and one other line. I had to buy 4 line push nuts (Ideal makes them) from Lowes and substitute these for the ones the light came with. Not so easy. I am close to getting the canister closed but its a struggle and it was a very time consuming and frustrating learning curve. If you absolutely need the low profile cannister (I did not) then you are in for a tough time. Don't even attempt bringing in 3 lines without the 4 line push nuts. Regular wire nuts are way to big. BTW, the push nuts are great. I will never use a wire nut again. Forgive me if I have used a few wrong terms. I am a pretty handy homeowner but not an electrician. 2So awesome, so easy! My kitchen ceiling looks awesome! I'm really happy with the way this product looks. My dad and I took out four '70's fluorescent T12 fixtures and put in these recess LED's. My dad (retired electrician) never worked with these before.. so easy. He was amazed at how far "recess cans" have evolved. I watched a video online on how to install these. We were in disbelief of how simple it was. My dad liked them so much, he wants to put them in his house now. We installed 2 sets on dimmer switches (2 above the sink area & 4 in the main ceiling recess) and no buzzing! Make sure you buy a good quality dimmer switch. It's no longer necessary to tear apart your entire ceiling to mount giant "recess cans" to achieve great, updated lighting! I was having nightmares about what we were going to have to tear into to get recess lights in my ceiling. So so glad I found this product! 5Brighter than expected, easy install, perfect for our laundry room I am very satisfied with these LED lights; I used 3 for a minor laundry room renovation, and am very happy with the results. The quality of the light is good, they are very good looking when installed, and they throw off more light than expected. The wiring was easy, and they are higher quality than some of the less expensive off-brand counterparts. I haven't yet tested them with a dimmer, however. I was a little surprised by how warm they got while operating, but not so warm as to be concerning. 5Make sure to pick Residental ver. NOT Multi-Purpose for your home Ok, so I originally bought the 3500 Lumen version not noticing that I had picked multi purpose one, not the residential version. The lights are very bright and was not planning on using a dimmer on these 6 lights. but after seeing brightness I decided to get a dimmer switch. The big issue is the the multi purpose lights have an extra grey and purple wire that attached to a seperate dimmer switch. Since this was remodel not a new build, I decided to just buy new 6 residential 3000 version which I believe works with a regular dimmer since the grey and purple wires are not included. The 3000 Lumen is better and not as bright. Seems I was straining my eyes too much with the higher 3500 version. I was planning on adding lights in my living and dining room so the 3500 Lumen version with the right box will enable them to be dimmed an adjust in the other rooms.CON: 1- The main issue I see is that these wafer lights are not sold seperately without the junction box. So if these ever burn out or malfunction you have to buy a new entire unit. I hope as these get more popular they will start to sell the light fixture part seperately.2- Junction box is small and is a little tight while wiringPRO: your need minimal space to slide the junction box and the waffer light. perfect for basements or areas with small space above.the connectors in side the box work great 4
