    Only downside is that while it specifies the dimming works with Lutron Caseta PD-6WCL dimmer smart switch, it causes the lights to make a ...As advertised. Small, light weight, well manufactured, surprisingly bright LED dimmable lighting. Only downside is that while it specifies the dimming works with Lutron Caseta PD-6WCL dimmer smart switch, it causes the lights to make a high pitched buzz at all settings.4You will not be disappointed in these lights!While remodeling our hallway, I changed to lighting and we installed a lithonia light, but it only lights up down due to the solid metal shade. Because we have 10 ceilings, the top was dark. I bought 2 of these thinking they would be accent lights, I was wrong. On full, they are primary lighting. I installed a Lutron dimmer and now they can either primary or accent lighting. These lights are easy to install, you just need a couple of knockouts and you are good to go. With these small lights though, use the wire hole at the back, otherwise it will be difficult to get through your hole. These will be going into other rooms in the house! The second photo is on dim and the third is bright.5Fantastic little remodel lightThese are great for a remodel or addition of lighting in any drywall ceiling!The electrical box could definitely be a little larger if you're using 12 gauge solid wire like my house is wired with.Very simple installation with the included circle template.DO cut very precisely, cut a little small and then trim if needed, this way it blends in very nicely.I have white ceilings and unless you are really looking for these you do not see them until they are turned on. I have them connected to a Lutron dimmer circuit with a remote and they work awesome with it.Yes i definitely recommend these!5Great versatility but with buzzing problems and low CRI Overall we are happy with the purchase so far but I'd rate this between a 3 and 4 due to some limitations and issues.Good:- Form factor is absolutly great for trying out proposed lighting locations in new construction and for installation in new areas of existing contruction.- Lumens are good with a wide distribution of lighting. Given how the led's are around the outer edge, they don't have an issue with the down pointing ones that some screw-in models do.- No cans mean no rattling from folks walking on the floors above and it means you can install it almost anywhere. This fixes the issue we had like where the builder installed hallway lights off center because of plumbing and ducts.Bad:- Buzzing at the ac/dc box with any dimmer. Only the ELV versions of the lutron dimmers reduce it to a near inaudible point but they are absurdly expensive.- CRI is only 80+. While we didn't noice any colors that seem off yet, it is dissapointing that they don't have 90+ at this point.- The cord from the box to the light should be 6"-12" longer to help with placement. It is great that extension cables are available for additional placement options but the default length can present some challenges in new construction placement.4Incredibly easy to install and puts out amazing light.Wow.... I ordered 2 recessed lighting kits from Halo and returned them after I saw this product. I decided to go with the 3" bright white 3000K with the thought that I could just increase my hole size if I needed to step up to more light. From the product description it looked really easy to install but after several agonizing electrical DIY projects around my house I was very skeptical. I could not believe how easy these lights were to install. I made the holes with my drill and a hole saw attachment, inserted the lights, wired the box, and it was done. This was by far the easiest project I've ever done at my house. My home is old and has terrible lighting. I've already purchased more of these to place around the house. If you are purchasing these I would suggest 3" for areas where you are complimenting other light sources, such as bathrooms, hallways, and kitchen counter top areas. The light output is not your standard LED blinding light, which I was worried about. The output from these lights is very nice and goes well with my other lights. I cannot recommend this product enough to anyone who wants to add lighting to their home without the hassle of a big wiring job. These are great for difficult to access spaces as well. The only negative I found was that once you plug into the wiring connector, there is no way to release it (at least I couldn't figure out how).5Incorrect specs on product installationI'm an electrical contractor and relied on the specs provided to install this product. First off, the driver sent with the fixture is about 8" long, not the 4" as stated in the description. It is clearly not the same driver and is much larger than the one pictured.Second, the description says it can be installed in a 2" deep cavity.... WRONG! You need at least 5-6" in my estimation or the driver will not slide up through the hole drilled. You may be able to install in a 2" cavity if you had access from the rear but then it wouldn't be a cavity, it would be open to the back.I'm frustrated with this product and their inability to provide instructions for people trying to plan their install before purchase.1Amazing product - bright, small, affordable, easy!Wow! What an incredible light. Tremendous high quality light output, in an extremely shallow package. The installation of the light kit in the ceiling is very easy. Note that this gives off a LOT of light in its 3" size - I have mine installed in a 7' high ceiling, and I actually would recommend only using in 8' or higher ceilings, or where the disc will be concealed from direct view. (At 7', I had to put it on a dimmer so I wasn't blinded!)I also suggest getting a hole cutter with dust catcher to make your installation easy and tidy. Klein Tools 53731 Quick Cutter Adjustable Hole Saw5Excellence!High quality product. Works well with Leviton 6633-PLW dimmer.Shallow mounting depth makes for an easy installation almost anywhere. Solid feel to the lamp and durable finish. Light dispersion is great - very consistent and no bright spots.My only gripe is the size of the metal driver box - the section of the box reserved for electrical terminations is very small. We had to trim back the length of the wiring pigtails and use special connectors to make it all fit. (Ideal In-Sure connectors)It's difficult to find a high quality LED fixture of this type, but this is a good one. This series has several different sizes and colors available and will be my first choice for future installations.5Very bright, very compact, and should be used with a dimmerBought these for new construction in finishing my basement. They are installed in the soffit under my ductwork at about 6.5 feet high, and the light is fairly blinding at full power at that height. I set the dimmer switch to about 60% and that seems to do the trick. It's not finished yet so I can't testify to the full finished effect yet. These lights are very small. The 3" measurement includes the trim, so don't think that the light is 3" wide itself. One other thing to note is that the box is super small. Small as in 4.2 cubic inches, and the wires attached to the transformer take up 50% of the space in the box. I ended up trimming them way back and replaced the included push in connectors with small twist wire nuts so that I could get two 14-2 cables a couple inches inside of it. There are also no cable clamps included, but a standard 1/2" nm cable connector worked just fine in the knockouts.4Love these lightsThese slim led lights are the shiznit!!! They have amazing output at every size... I have 3", 4", and 6" versions, and they dim perfectly with my chosen dimmer... The Maestro vel/led version. I will never install a recessed can again!January 2019 Update: I've recently added a 15 more 4" wafers throughout my house, and they are just the greatest! LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They are an old work install dream - you can pretty much drill a hole wherever you want - even under strapping, and fit these guys right in below the obstruction. As long as you can snake your feeders, and there is room to get the junction box in, you're good to go. I'm now running many of these on Lutron Caseta wireless dimmers and they work fantastic. Smooth with zero visible flicker, etc. These don't dim as low as some other LEDs I've used (LED Edison bulbs in particular dim incredibly low), but they go down far enough for anything I need them to do. I do sometimes have to bump the low trim on my Caseta/Maestro digital switches to ensure all the lights come on together... if you set the trim too low and try to cold start the lights dim, sometimes only a fraction will come on, but once set properly, they light every time at their dimmest setting. I have a few 6" cans but am using the 4" exclusively now - I don't notice the output difference and think the 4" is just a great nearly invisible look. Can't recommend these enough.5
