    Not So Easy Set UpI bought this because reviews stated it was easy to set up. WRONG!Once it was set up it kept stating to move it to a new location. Once it decided to accept a location it improved the wifi signal by only one bar.Will be sending this back more than likely. Will leave it plugged in for a few days to decide what I want to do.Tired of buying things that state easy ser up or they don't work as stated from Amazon.I say save your money buy a different brand.Sent back save your money.1Wi-fi range extender that worksMy router is on one end of my home and was experiening weaker signals on my wife's iPad and my smart tv while streaming movies,etc. This little jewel was just what the doctor ordered. I now have no problems as described and now even get strong signals in the other end of my home and even out back on my patio. I have a very small house and wanted stronger WiFi in the back yard. I used the placement software that comes with the device but can not improve it. I'm thinking about returning it, disappointed. :(Update: After many attempts and a lot of frustration I have better results to report. Setup was a bit confusing when selecting dual band. Also setup defaulted to a different encryption standard, that was the main problem preventing me from completing a proper setup. After selecting the one used by my Comcast modem the setup completed and completed properly, finally. I get a strong signal, it works well. 4 out of 5 stars because of the confusing setup.4What a Difference!!!!The internet cable comes into the second floor, so that's where I set up my modem and router. Downstairs internet reception was adequate at best. I plug in the extender and within five minutes I have lightning speed on youtube and netflix. Setup is a breeze, but you do have to actually read the instructions. The router is also a linksys, so the product resembled the router with the exception of color. On a two-outlet wall recepticle, there was room for the extender and the other item plugged into the wall. I have a tower, two laptops, and an ipad feeding off the extender and no issues so far. This is my first extender, and I have to say that it is definitely doing its job.5Worked so well I bought a second oneWorks as expected and made wifi life in my home less frustrating! Easy to set up. Worked so well I bought a second one. Both said I should move them out further but that was impossible and doesn't appear to be a problem having them both in a close vicinity to the main wifi.5Avoid the Linksys RE6250The Linksys RE6250 is easy to install and connects to the router easily using WPS. It shows up with it's SSID and easily connects any device that requests a login. Unfortunately, that's where it all stops. Data passthrough is almost non-existent. 90% of the time it's at zero. No data. The other 10% of the time it passes data very slow and intermittently.This happens regardless of where it is located. Many reboots and re-installs always ended up with the same results - unuseable. Replaced it with a TP-Link Range extender for $24.99 (half the price of the Linksys RE6250), placed in the exact same spot and the TP-Link works perfectly. The Linksys was a waste of $50.1Didn't work for me.Easy set up but no improvement in coverage. I wanted to extend my dual band WiFi router coverage from the lower level of my house to the garage and front yard. This unit appeared as an additional network access point but was actually lower in signal strength than the primary router signal. Multiple resets and locations attempted but never seemed to act or perform as I would have expected. It may have been a faulty unit but it is being returned and I will try a different product and manufacturer.1Best extender I have foundBest extender I have found...shelved a NetGear product and returned a TP-Link product. Setup was easy and after setup configuration, web access to the extender was a snap. The 2.4 GHz band's signal at -34 dBm is at a maximum; the 5 GHz band's signal strength is -53 dBm which is excellent. I have my smart TV on the 5 GHz band and it's located in a semi blind-spot. Now I'm keeping my TV connected without always dropping and am happy for that.5Getting great Wi-Fi throughout the house (after resetting)I live in a mid-century house with lath-and-plaster walls that restrict Wi-Fi access. Making things worse is that the Linksys EA6300 access point is at one end of the 2500 square-foot house. Adding the AC750 range extender means that we get great Wi-Fi reception throughout the house. It only took a couple of minutes to set up. Here is why I gave it only 4 stars: After a few weeks, over the holidays when there were several guests, we had internet access issues. We could log onto the either the original access point or the range extender, but we weren t able to get through to the internet very well; it was running very slowly. And on one computer we got repeated messages that the IP address it was trying to use was already assigned to another device. After I spent a lot of time with the cable company, the situation was no better. Eventually I reset the range extender to its factory settings. It has been working well for the few weeks since then. I don t know if it was a glitch or if it was because of the number of simultaneous users.4Easy Set Up, Moderate Loss of Speed with ExtenderFairly easy to set up, did a good job improving the signal strength to laptop, cell phone and TV in another room than my wifi router. Didn't fix the problem with Netflix freezing on Samsung TV, but that is apparently a problem with Samsung TV and the built in Netflix app, not poor signal strength that I had assumed. May need to get low end Roku to the the Netflix app problem. DSL speed test results with Spectrum DSL:Direct connect - 120 Mbps download/12 uploadWireless without range extender - 81 Mbps download/12 uploadWireless and through range extender - 48 Mbps download/12 upload.With Range extender - 59% of the download speed without range extender (a very reasonable tradeoff)Very satisfied so far, has only been a few days.5
