Easy Set UpAbsolutely perfect for beginner studio set up. Took me less than 10 minutes to unpack and set up. While lightweight, it is not flimsy or cheap. As you can see I'm working in a very small room. The pic was done very quickly with a cell phone (so don't judge my photographic skills!!!) Once I have a bigger space I can set up the other two lights. Excellent value. I only gave it 4 stars under durability because I know there are more expensive and sturdier kits out there. Now I need a model other than Peanut.5I love this setI love this set! Everything its perfect. Once I figured out the mechanics of it, it was very easy to put together, even though the instructions were in small print, and the lights bounced off the backdrop perfectly.I gave this a five star rating, but there were only three things I had small issues with - the backdrops were just cloth material I could get from any fabric store (so thanks for that - I'll be saving some coint here on Amazon), the backdrop poles would be easier to use for short people like me if they had height marks on them, and the clips are plastic and could break easily, so I'll probably end up buying metal ones. Other than that, this was a very good investment for me.5Very good product and customer service.The clamps did not wrap completely around the crossbar and pinch the backdrop underneath like in the photo. I had to drape the backdrop over the bar by a few inches and clamp it on that way. The power cables for the lamps are only 90 inches long which could present a problem when extending the light stands to their maximum (putting the cable 80 inches above the ground). You'll need to be creative to make all the cables reach a power source. An elastic band on one of the diffusers that go on the softboxes snapped when I tried to put it on. Linco Inc. required only a photograph of the defect and wasted no time carefully inspecting and sending me a new one. No payment or item return was necessary. When lamps are used properly, lighting can look like natural daylight in a windowed interior in photos. I am very happy with this purchase and this seller.4Very happy!This is a great set up. Easy set up as well.5Just About PerfectThis was a on the fly purchase as I was looking for a green screen + light set for my youtube videos/twitch streaming. First off, the light stands are very good quality, nothing cheap or flimsy. Very study and reliable. Huge bonus! The lights are very nice and work well. I was sad to see that one bulb broke in transit, but I only needed two bulbs as I was only going to setup 2 of the 4 lights that came in this package. So overall, the lights are very top notch, highly recommendable.The Green Screen setup is an interesting story. My only major disappointment with the green screen and stand is that the clamps that came with everything does not fit on the stand! Unless I am a complete idiot, I saw NO WAY to use the clamps provided to hand the green screen up. Thankfully I purchased a 24 pack of clamps from Home Depot before the delivery came as a backup. Glad I did so or else I still would have no idea how to hang the green screen.Once I hung it up and turned on my chroma key, the green screen worked pretty well. The screen itself after hangup (it's literally standing in the middle of my living room) does have wrinkles and the likes in it, but after using chroma key, there is NO WAY to tell, simply put, the job is done and done well. The stand for the green screen is pretty solid using stand quite similar to the light stands.Outside of the clamps issue, this was a great buy for me at $90.00. I am more than happy with the purchase, you may want to look into getting your own clamps as the ones that came with it appear to be too small.4and I'm glad I didI was very excited about receiving this product. The only things that are bothersome are the soft boxes. The pictures are misleading when it comes to the pole that goes through it. I can see the it sticks out a little, but it is a lot more in person and kind of obnoxious. Also I did order extra clamps due to others reviews, and I'm glad I did. The ones that came with the kit are tiny and weak, there's no way they would hold up the background as required.3Cheap and easy to break, but okay I guessGreenscreen, as pictured, isn't actually wide enough to make use of all three bars in width and actually make it to the ground, if you hang it lengthwise it's far too wide and there's at least a foot of gap on the bottom, otherwise it goes more than all the way down, but not fully across.The metal thing on the back of one of the softbox covers broke basically immediately and rendered it useless since it needs that to hold itself up awkwardly. I put it together one time, found the pole was already loose and just pulled right off with a tiny bit of wiggling. Don't know why the pole isn't all one piece like it is for the white umbrellas, but apparently it either isn't or it's so poorly constructed it snaps in two on its own.I also had a bent screw on the top of one of the greenscreen stands but it wasn't bent enough to connect together fine anyway.Everything else is okay, though the clips are confusing as they don't close all the way. They do work, you just have to shove the fabric in between them and the bar, they don't grip it in the end of the clip as you may be expecting.You could probably do better, but I still think it was probably worth it even with a broken softbox since it's so cheap - everything is super easy to put together and take apart except the softbox covers which seem to just hang loosely, and everything sans light bulbs fits in the bag, not sure how you'd expect to fit those too without potentially damaging them.3Nice package, but skip this one for computer use!I was finally ready to amp up my instructional video production capabilities, so I figured that a greenscreen backdrop with softboxes would be the next step. After comparing quite a few options, I chose this unit for the feature set, solid reviews, and the 5500K bulbs, which would give a bit brighter light that the LED bulbs in the cheaper AM243 package.I concur with most of the other reviews here -- the hardware is solid, and I never thought it would break or fall over. Assembly is easy and quick, and everything fits in the packing bag, as expected. The clips are the wrong size for going around the crossbar, as others have noted, but suitable if you are OK just clamping the backdrop pinched to the bar. As I'm using it for sitting behind my desk chair, I just use 1/2 the backdrop normally and fold it over the crossbar without any clips -- this is fine, too.When I started testing, the green backdrop was quite wrinkled, but I wanted to see how well it worked. The default chromakey on the software I use was set to 10% variance, and that was enough to eliminate the entire backdrop, wrinkles included! It'll look better once it is ironed, I suppose, but it is not critical for most greenscreen applications, and the extra lighting definitely helped give a better production quality to my recordings.I did run into one problem that I had not expected, though. After doing my first video tests and playing around with it, I finally sat down to do some new video recordings. When I went back to start applying some edits, I found a big issue -- my audio was humming loudly! I use a CAD U1 USB microphone, and it picked up a massive amount of buzz that was not there previously. After messing around with settings, software, and the like, I realized that the lights were also new, so I shut one off -- and the buzz lessened. Shutting of the other one eliminated the buzz, but now I was back in the dark. Yuck.I tried putting a power filter on the lamp cords, but no joy. Turns out that my initial idea to spend the extra money on the better bulbs in the AM169 Kit was my mistake here! I went to my local hardware store and picked up two 100W, 5000K Philips "No Hum" LED bulbs, dropped them in, and it has taken care of the problem entirely. Had I known, though, I would have saved 10% and bought the AM243 package instead.Takeaway: This unit is well worth the price, and it works great for photography and computer recordings alike. However, if you expect to use a sensitive electronic computer microphone with it, you'd best stick with a package using LED bulbs.4Sent back because of safety concerns..Electrical connections are low quality.. Not up to electrical codes of the past 25 years.. Thin wires, not polarized plugs, plastic light sockets with only clips for connectors.. Not safe to operate in my opinion.. Especially not safe to use with any bulb that might heat up.. The bulb sockets are only molded PLASTIC.. Look carefully at the pictures where the bulb screws in.. Plastic only.. YIKES!! Normally, there is a grounded metal receiver, and a ceramic insulator.. They included florescent bulbs that may run cool, but this implies if you used any other bulb you may risk melting the plastic.. Not to mention these florescent bulbs contain mercury and are rarely even sold any longer at the home improvement stores.. I cannot have these in my home..2
