Customer Reviews

Definitely Not Worth the Money I generally don't write bad reviews of products or services. Takes a lot to get me to that point. "Chelsea" pushed me over the edge.First, the effect is not what I expected. The light is too dim to be seen when used along with even minimal christmas lights in operation. The effect produced is more like blobs of light moving down your wall than actual snowflakes. The second accessory LED light helps to improve the effect if you tweak it properly, but the LED fixtures don't have ground spikes (they sit on small, weighted bases), as a result, the lights wobble and are easily toppled when they are placed on a lawn. The unit died after less than a week of use. No light, no motor, blows GFCI circuit breaker when I attempt to turn it on. I am going to attempt to contact the vendor and seek a refund, but after some of the comments I've seen here, Im not holding my breath. 2I won a "Major Award" Ok, I put this baby to the test. I didn't want floating snowflakes or green and red laser starbursts. I wanted the look of falling snow. I was surprised how hard that was to find. Then I found this, Light Flurries LED.... hey it worked. White and falling lights, it was the look I wanted. I won a neighborhood award for "most original" light display, no joke. There was even a crazy hard rain and winds while we were out of town and I was sure this contraption bit the dust, but it didn't! The box had a pile of leaves inside and it still kicked on when it got dark. 5Looks like an 80's disco threw up on the front of ... Looks cheap & silly. Looks like an 80's disco threw up on the front of your house. Then the company won't let you return it because you don't like it, because it's not defective. 1Snow flurries review Product sold a good price. Shipping time was a little long. Believe the product could be made better by having a stronger, more intense light source and the reflections are not very visual on a white house. 3I'm glad I got it ... It's okay ... I was concerned about all the negative reviews but ordered anyway because I couldn't find anything better out there. The key is to play with the angle and distance the light source is to the moving ball. Even an inch or two can make a huge difference in the pattern and intensity.Overall, I am happy with the purchase. 4Only Works with Modification for a Limited Time Not worth the money and return for full refund impossible and even for partial refund refund window is impossibly small. However, if you are already stuck with one of these pieces of junk, your need to disregard the advice about 25 or 30 feet from home and see what closer distance achieves best effect. Playing with the angle of the box by putting something large and heavy like a brick under the box helps too to gets a better angle. Since the snowflake effect is most visible in complete, and I mean complete, darkness snow flurries does not play well with other Christmas lights if the other lights are configured to illuminate the same surface on which the snow flake effect is projected(in most cases the front of your home. If you have outside security lights you will need to disable them too or the effect will wash out. There's nothing you can do about passing car headlights but those are a problem too. Oh yeah, and did I mention that if you have the thing plugged into a GFI circuit (most modern homes outside electrical receptacles are wired this way)it blew mine after fewer than three weeks of operation. So on top of everything else its a fire hazard and an electrical hazard. Merry Christmas! 1Still going 2 years later. This thing is quite cool. It entirely lights up my house, which is 60' wide with the garage. I've definitely noticed several cars stopping to watch the snow fall. Works best on areas that you don't have lit up. I will confirm that it is rain proof. I put the light and ball unit on a couple of weather-resistant boards for stability. I would definitely buy again.Edited to add that I recently got a second light and the difference is amazing. Make sure and place the lights as far back as you can from the ball to make the light flakes on the house as small as possible and slow the ball down to barely moving. It looked decent before, but it's really noticeable now. As far as being weather proof, it survived our recent big rain/wind Pineapple Express event in the Pacific Northwest just fine.Edited to add: Wow. I'm not sure about these other reviews of this failing, because 2 years on mine still works perfectly. Yes, it is basically a disco ball in a box, but it still works. I've mounted the lights to a piece of 2x6 board for stability and I place the box on another 2x6. It's survived all sorts of weather. There's a little rust on the light adjustment screws. That's it. And as I've said earlier, to get the best effect you need to add another light. I'm tempted to pair this with one of those new lasers just to see the effect. Anyway, I can only report my personal experience and I'm quite satisfied with this product. 5The two part design is kind of a hassel and ... The two part design is kind of a hassel and the projector shines out at the viewer. The 1 piece, internally lit globe design works just as well, doesn't have these disadvantages and is 1/2 the price. 3Snow means Snow I have had nothing but problems with this item. It seemed like such a good idea. I bought one the glass globe broke at the connection. We called the company and paid 60.00 for a new one they would not replace it for free (which should have been a warning sign). A week later the motor died. It was past the return time so nothing I could do. I thought maybe I had gotten a bad one so I ordered another one for the next Christmas season. They had changed the light to an LED but right out of the package the motor didn't work. Again I was stupid and instead of getting my money back decided to get a replacement. Worked for a week and then died. Couldn't return this one either and am now stuck with two non working units. I ended up throwing them away and keeping the disco ball center. I figured maybe I can hang them from a ceiling for a party some time. THESE DO NOT WORK! I cannot stress this enough. Unless the price goes down to 19.99 they are not worth the money. There is no quality control and no customer support. The effect is not that great. Unless it's really really dark outside it barely registers and seriously whose house is dark at Christmas! 1DO NOT BUY!!!! I am giving it 1 star. It did turn on. It is cheesy and does have the coverage it says. Also if you open the box to see what you paid for they take 20% to restock! Overpriced and terrible customer service! I had to pay to ship it as well. 1
