    Solid Build and Easy to Install Solid build and easy to install. Installed this inlet on outside wall of the house and wired to a receptacle directly behind it on the inside of the house. Allows me to connect my generator to the house and have a powered inlet without running an extension cord through a window or door. 5OK Product. It does work. I fought with this thing for 2 hours today in order to get it into the box that was recommended. First off, the wire locking screws come closed so you must gently turn counter clockwise. I stripped one of the screws on the first one...my fault for not looking at the tightening process more carefully. But, the real issue was having to constantly shorten the wires coming into the box because the plug takes up an insane amount of room even without the wires. I was using 12/2 external wire. Once i got everything into the box then it was a matter of getting the foam pad and plate screwed into the box. My issue is the design. This product needs a box that is about 1" deeper.Once in the box I did a continuity test and all went well after that. When I do this again I will not use a metal box, which only added to the aggravation. Once installed it worked great. I just don't much care for the design. 3Can power a circuit in the woods with a generator I hook up my Honda generator to this receptical to power a small circuit. I don't use a grounding rod since I can't find a GOOD reason to. Works perfect! I'll post some pics. Totally of the grid & out in the woods. 5Works great for shore-power/generator power Put this on my fish house to connect to the house or generator which then goes into an RV power center to charge my battery for 12V wiring and also to power my electrical outlets for AC voltage. 5Works as designed. I brought two receptacles and installed them on my van that I have converted to a RV. I used a chipper that I brought on Amazon to cut a hole in both sides of my van to install the receptacles. As for weatherproof, I added water proofing tape to the side of the receptacle connection to the van's body. 5Nice clean efficient connector for our camper. Its taken me awhile to find the right electrical connector for our camper. We rely on solar, but every now and then will have hookups. We do not have AC so this is all we needed it works better than what has broken on us in the past. It well made of heavy plastic. I was able to paint and paint sticks. The spring is heavy without being too heavy. We use a common extension cord at campgrounds and at home when necessary and this fills the bill. 5Great for a Generator I had my electrician put this in a wall in the garage opposite the kitchen. This will be used to connect my generator and run an extension cord from inside. He also installed two outlets in the kitchen connected to this receptable. Now I won t have to run an extension cord forced under the kitchen door as I had to do when Hurricane Irma caused our power to go out. The price for this device is far lower than at the big box home improvement stores. You will need to install this in a box in the wall, but that is no big deal. 5It worked for a generator input to house I used this to bring generator power into the house, for a wood pellet stove.It seems to be properly made, safe, rated correctly, water / weather resistant and works perfectly for my application.--Rockbase-- 4Plug does not fit reccomende box. Just order the plug and go to Home Depot to get the box, the box they recommend will not fit the plug.I made it work by grinding down the center piece but a deeper box is really what is needed, The plug itself isoutstanding and fits the large female ends of most all extension cords. 3Works great I have this set up on my work trailer, put a metal gang box on the inside attached to this inlet with some long screws. Ran a metal jacketed wire to an outlet box and a light switch. Mainly set it up to run a heater in the winter to keep paint, spackle, adhesives from freezing. 5
