The fit of the LensCoat Wimberley cover is better than the LegCoat Wraps and it was much easier to put on. It protects the gimbal head arm from scrapes, scratches and dings. In cold environments, you do not have to touch cold metal if you have this covering your Wimberley. It isn't a necessity, but it will go a long way towards keeping your gear looking semi-pristine (improving resell value?).
