Customer Reviews

LOVE THEM! LOVE these battery candles, and purchased two of them in November, 2014! The nicely shaped bulb gives a pleasing and somewhat realistic glow... much better than other battery candles I have purchased. I prefer to use them on the flickering setting. They look nice and fit perfectly on the window sills, and have been flickering in my windows from dusk to dawn for nearly FIVE months on one set of Energizer C batteries! I also purchased another set of similar candles which looked almost identical, FPC 1525B, (in order to get a Brass colored base,) made by the same company. Those have a bulb with a slightly different shape, and do not have a flicker as pleasing as the FPC1225P (Pewter toned base). In fact, I didn't like them on the flicker setting at all and switched the setting to the continuous glowing setting. Those burned for only a month before the batteries went dead. However, since the batteries were Rayovac, not Energizer, the batteries may have been inferior and the cause for the short life. I would not purchase those batteries OR that candle again, but highly recommend these FPC 1225P. . . 5Best cordless window candles around I bought several of these years ago and they were wonderful. This newer edition uses C batteries and they shine brighter and last at least a month. They are fuss free, since they automatically come on at dusk and go off at dawn reliably. No remote needed. Very happy with them.We purchased three different types of cordless candles this year after our original set of these was damaged. The first type required you to turn on the candles by screwing the bulb in and the only way to turn them off was to unscrew the bulb! That meant manually screwing in and out each candle every night! The next set cane with a handy remote and different timing features and flicker or not. But even with the timer, we had to start them with the remote every night, and the longest they would stay on was until about 1 a.m.So we came back to our old standby and so happy we did. 5Beautiful Lighting Effect -- PLUS -- Long Battery Life and No-Fuss Use !!! These candles, with a 45-HOUR LIGHTING TIME PER BATTERY SET, are far superior to any we have seen on other Web sites this year. These use 2 C-Cell Batteries, while competitor's models all seem to use 2 AA-Cell batteries that give only 20-hour light time per battery set. The Dawn-To-Dusk sensor on the front mean about 6 solid weeks of unattended, worry-free and trouble-free use. The switch on the back lets you set each candle for candle-like Flicker, ''Constant-On'' lighting or OFF... and the sensor conserves battery life during the day for both ON positions. The slim 1.5-Inch profile should fit in nearly any window for outside visibility. The design also seems to us to be nice enough to place around rooms for a nice mood lighting effect, too. 5The Best Option for Unwired Candles! To date, I have purchased 21 of these. I initially bought 11 for my front windows so that I could evaluate whether they were better than the version I was already using which was the a type that uses two AA batteries. I am glad to say these FPC1224P ED's are much better and I bought 10 more. First, these look like a quality candle from an inside-the-house perspective even though they are plastic. The narrow base allows them to fit on my narrow window sills. The fact that they are powered with C-size batteries which are installed in the base gives them the low center of gravity needed for them to be less likely to tip and fall. The bulbs themselves are yellow, just like all the other LED bulb candles I have tried. However, powering them with dual C-size batteries keeps them working at their brightest level for most if not all of the holiday season. The AA version would go dim after about a week causing me to have to recharge the batteries almost continuously. I am not giving these five stars because they are not the Holy Grail which would be a battery powered candle as bright as my mother's 120 VAC wall plug versions (which my wife refuses to let me even consider because of safety, nightly plug-in headaches, and messy wiring)Some suggestions: 1) Invest in rechargeable C-size batteries and a good charger. Each candle takes two 2) be sure to install them with the little handle of the LEFT. That way the light sensor is facing out which will cause the candle to turn on at the proper time. 4Lovely and realistic I highly recommend these window candles. They're lightweight but don't look cheap (I ordered the antique brass) and they fit perfectly on my window sills. The flicker feature is very realistic and is the setting I chose. I put them on every one of my window sills for the holidays and they gave my home a beautiful glow (and complimented my other holiday decorations). They look great inside and out. Two things to note: 1. it needs to be completely dark for these candles to work so if you have an automatic sensor light like I do by the front door, your candle won't stay "lit" 2. remember to take the batteries out when storing. 5Love these - Great Value at a Great Price Yes, they are a little more "orange" that I would probably prefer, however, they function wonderfully and are priced right. We use them in windows all over our house and are thrilled at how well they work at turning on and off at the right times without us needing to think about it. We've used them with the solid light and the flicker light features. We've gotten many compliments from guests and neighbors.Additionally, we've used them for 2 holiday seasons now (I put them up the weekend before Thanksgiving and take them down in mid-January) and they are still running on the original set of batteries that were put in. (Daily use x ~8 weeks x 2 years)Originally I bought them for the front of the house only, and when they went on sale after Christmas this year, I picked up enough to add to windows in the back of the house and a few spares in case any ever break. Very happy with the purchase overall! 5Third place finisher of the three sets of candles I purchased. The light is amber or orange, not white. It operates on a sensor, so the "flame" comes on when it gets dark (or you cover the sensor).I prefer the Battery Operated LED Window Candle with Sensor (Pewter) FPC1525P, which is essentially the same, but it has a white light and a prettier handle. Even better is the Classic Flameless Ivory Drip Taper LED Candles with Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish Candlesticks (which don't have sensors but are timed).I bought all three because the reviews were so variable and I didn't know what to expect. This comes in third place of the three. 3Work great, look great! Ignore all the whiners from some of the previous reviews because these candles work great and look great! Each candle takes 2 "C" batteries which the packaging claims will last the entire holiday season due to it's light-sensing auto-shutoff switch. This feature most certainly works as all three of my candles turn off at even the slightest hint of sunlight, but will not turn off if I put the light on in the room that they are located in. There are two settings; full-on and flicker. I chose the latter and they look great in the window when I pull into the driveway. Again, ignore all of the whiners about the color of the candle...yeah, I suppose it could be MORE yellow or all yellow, but it does glow a warm yellow-orange glow. The base of the candle is plastic as you can expect, but does look nice in the pewter finish. All in all, I am very happy I bought these as they enhance our Christmas decorations. 5Great Quality Working Well on Year 2! Update now 3yrs! I bought 4 of these last year and have used them all year. I added 5 more this year so all windows have them. It is great that they come on at dusk and off at dawn. I get about 2 months running on the 2 C batteries (non-alk). The person who said she got them at Target and they are dim is mistaken. These are not the same ones. I too saw the Target ones and they look like this but are junk. These have a 2 year warranty...what has that these days? My LCD HDTV only has 1 year parts and 90 days labor, it cost a lot more than this candle. Give these a try you will not be disappointed. They look like real fire. They are not white lights..they are the true yellow/orange of a flame.Update: on 3rd year still just as good as new. 5I love these candle lights I love these candle lights. I was specifically looking for an LED battery operated device that was NOT BRASS! I love the color of the base on these. I used a couple of them for the entire month of December. They went on and off as promised and like the fact that you can also manually turn on and off and can also make them flicker as if it were a candle. I can't speak to the longevity of the product. I do know I ordered 3 more for next year to work my way to having all my outer windows lit. My little bit of advice is to do it now or right after Christmas while it seems to be priced a bit lower than during "the holiday season". 5
