    The are a great quality tool They are a great quality tool, as always expected from Klein. I use them to cut fiber optic cable. They go through armored/unarmored, 4 fiber to 864 fiber, like butter. Beware steel! As described form the manufacturer, the cutters are made for soft cable. I've chewed the jaws up a bit just ringing around steel strength members. I use these cutters every day and am very happy with them. 5Very nice cutter Long handles provide good leverage. Blades are solid and cut well. If you need to get rid of your finger in a hurry this will deffinately work. 5Cuts through 0 gauge wires like butter. I was doing my "Big 3" upgrade in my car to decrease resistance and load on the electrical system. (I won't go into the details here but just hit up your favorite search engine and type in "Big 3 Upgrade". I purchased some good quality 0 gauge cables and was looking for some quality cutters to get a nice clean slice. I hate having frayed wires for two reasons: aesthetics and safety. Frayed wires look like you had your dog chew through it on purpose and it can also lead to metal splinters (which are not fun and worse than wood splinters). The Klein J63050 Cable Cutter is an amazing piece of tool. It is solidly built, comes with nice comfy grips and cut through those cables like they were string. They always say you have to have the right tools for the job. If I ever need to cut large gauge cables, I'm definitely going to use this tool. Great purchase! 5Great tool! This tool is so great, I use it all the time in my job. It s comfortable to use. Before I had these I had a pair of Green Lees and while good, I much prefer the Klein Tools cable cutters. 5Klein Tools 63050 9-1/2-Inch High Leverage Cable Cutter I had one of these for many years .. someone borrowed and cut steel wire .. grrrr. So this is my second pair .. Klein Quality is a given and comparable to Knipex. These are good down to 4 gage THHN/MTW (one stoke .. my strength) and also work nicely as a stripper for that gage with very little practice. This cutter is NOT for ACSR (Steel Core) wire .. Copper Only.Update 5/16/2018: Last pair went into the ether, so a re-order. I've recently updated my battery banks here (55 Kwh) and found that these Kleins cut through 00 gauge welding cable like buttah. Welding cable is ideal for building your own cables, and it is also basically "Full Soft" temper. I mention this, as I also have 00 gauge feeders from the PV, which is your standard THHN/MTW half-hard temper house wire, and even the Kleins would struggle with this, where a ratcheting cable cutter worked just fine. 5Getting the job done Only thing better is if it was hydroic :) still need strong grip but it works great. better then a lot of other cutters out there. get the right tool the first time and the task will be much easier and cutting something like skyhigh 1/0 was pretty simple. 5A Little Sad to see Klein Quality Slipping I had to give these 4 starts, and not 5. Previous versions of these shears had a cross hatch grind on the cutting blade, which made for an extremely nice cutting edge. At some point, Klein made the decision to cut costs by going with a single grind versus the cross hatch. The listing photos still show the pliers with the cross hatch, so I am a little sad to see a company like Klein starting to find places to cut costs. 4Klein will not warranty these. I have seven of these I've bought over the past six years. I only use these on copper wires while dismantling electrical cabinets. They wear out way too quickly. Chip easily. Bad metal. My electrician friend said to send them in to Klein and get seven new ones. Nope. Denied. Even with proof of purchase from the box store. They said it is standard wear and tear. A consumable item. Okie Dokie. Been using el cheapos which last the same time. 1Perfect for the job they are intended for I don't have to use these very often, but, when I do, they sure come in handy. They feel comfortable to grip and they hold a nice edge. Obviously they have some limitations to the size cable or conductor the can tackle. Some jobs are better suited for a ratcheting cable cutters or a portaband. However, if used propely, this tool will cut with ease and last you a long time. 5These are rock solid Saw this exact item on the shelf at my local Tru Value. The price was nearly $35! Ouch... There are cheaper versions of these on the shelf at harbor Freight, however they are copies of this. I'm confident I made the best choice by getting these off Amazon. They have blasted through 2 guage like butter. Balance and finishare very nice. A great tool! 5
