Customer Reviews

Direct replacement key fob cover This is a direct replacement for the 2013 Avalanche oem key fob cover. Installation was very easy and the item seems stout. I only have it a 3 for durability because I bought the same product about 3 years ago and the printed symbols on the face rubbed off within 18 months or so. Unknown if this newer version will do better than that. But, at such a good price, no worries. 4Fixed Cracked 2008 Chevy Equinox Fab CaseVery pleased! Original fab for our 2008 Chevy Equinox case broke and was beinf held together with tape until I found this! This is just the case as in the description. I ordered it along with a new battery (.https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-12538938-Original-Equipment-Keyless/dp/B00NWF5JPG) then googled a tutorial. Simply opened up old case, removed mother board and battery, placed both into new case and snapped shut! Amazing!! Very pleased.5Works for much lower price than dealerI had tried to find replacement key fob for my car; dealer option was all that was available. Replacing case was all that I needed as the circuit board was fine but the button wouldn't work. This worked for me but as they warned it was not made for my exact model; the buttons were perfect. The case had a plastic ridge inside preventing board from being properly installed. I just use a knife to cut this ridge away and voila, a perfect fit. I would recommend this but its probably a good idea to check for the proper model to match your car and fob.5I love that the battery snaps inThis works perfectly! I love that the battery snaps in. I read several reviews where people mentioned that the quality of the plastic was poor. I don't see where the plastic is a problem. However, the button icons MIGHT rub off sooner than expected; I can paint them back on if they do . For the most part it fits great, it feels nice, the buttons work properly, and I am satisfied with my purchase. It does beat spending $15-$30 or more.5snap it together and good as new (update)Saved me the cost of having to purchase a whole unit and syncing it with my truck.Just pull out the innards from your broken fob by separating the halves at the seam, put the innards in the new fob casing, snap it together and good as new.Like many others have posted, the plastic begins to crack after a while. Mine seemed to last a bit longer than some in here claiming they were cracking after only months. Purchased another one from another seller and immediately noticed that the newer one was noticeably thicker. I cannot recommend this product even though it is pretty inexpensive.2didnt work for longI was thrilled to get this and installed as soon as it came. After a few weeks remote stopped working. Thought it was battery so changes it twice in hopes that was it. Somehow I feel that the connection isnt making contact anymore. Worth a try but didnt work well for me2Great replacement shell for your keyfob.Key fob is a direct replacement for my 2012 Chevrolet Silverado fob.Plastic was cut well, buttons were nice and clean, but it is a bit pricey for just a piece of plastic and rubber buttons.Of course, you will need to reuse your circuit board from you original key fob.I'd bite again if the cost was maybe $2, but $6 or $7 each is a bit much for what you get.4Don't expect it to last UPDATE: I reduced this item from 4 stars to 2. It has now been less than two months since I got this and the prints are starting to noticeably wear off the the lock button and slightly off the unlock. Between the cheap cracked plastic and now the buttons wearing off, this is not a quality item and will not buy again.I bought two of these. The first one cracked a little when I snapped it together so I was super careful with the second one and it didn't. Took off one star for the flimsy plastic and how hard it was to get the battery in the battery slot. Otherwise, they work great and everything fit fine. 2O K unit for the price. Needs modification.Unit is clean, looks nice, BUT the tabs under the buttons is not quite hard enough as the original. Does not always activate the pressure sensitive circuit underneath. Modified t he remote by cutting tiny pieces of an old plastic credit card to use as spacers. Placed between button tabs inside and circuit. Glued into place on tabs. Works fine now. Should have kept the silicone tab from the OEM unit.3Updated Review: Don't expect it to last...The electronics on some fobs seem to outlast the case that protect them. When they start falling apart, I look for a replacement case such as this one. It is less expensive than replacing the entire fob and no programming is needed. Just open the old fob and separate the circuit board from the rubber keypad and put it inside the new fob. No tools required other than the quarter or nickel used to pry the clamshell cover apart.UPDATE 8/29/17: The fob has been cracking and losing little pieces off of it, so I ordered another before it totally fell apart. I don't believe I abused it. My wife has another fob for this 2014 car, original equipment, and I thought maybe we had somehow gotten them swapped. I did not want to believe my 6-month-old case was the one that was falling apart. When the new one came, it was apparent that the one that was falling apart was the case I had ordered. This is dismaying to me, but still preferable to any alternative I can see. The new one looks and works like new. Let's hope it lasts longer than the one it replaced...UPDATE 11-9-17: This 2nd one is already losing little plastic pieces off of it and before long I will have to order another one.2Caution - This device did not work AT FIRST. ...Caution - This device did not work AT FIRST. That may or may not be a result of manufacturing differences however. Let me explain. When this new case did not work at first, I noticed a very slight difference in the battery mounting configuration. The battery snaps in much tighter for ease in re-assembly of the halves. So I took the new open case (without the back) and the battery to the vehicle and manually held the battery in place against the terminals on the circuit board with my fingers. And it worked correctly. So I then took a knife and bent all of my circuit board terminals going to the battery in towards it slightly. That got the new case working correctly when assembled. Now, the old case was cracked and held together tight with a rubber band in order to work. That is why I bought a new case in the first place. It is possible that the terminals got bent back under those conditions. So do that first if your new case does not work either.5Nice replacement part This is a nice new case. All of the case outside features look and work nice to replace my old one. In my personal experience it was not just a snap and go deal. I had to take a box cutter and do some trimming and fitting to get my electronic parts to fit in but this was not much of a problem. I use mine daily and it holds together and works great. 4Old case, old electronics, new rubber buttons, and I'm back in businessI bought this to repair the remote for a 2010 Chevy HHR. I didn't need a whole new remote, just needed a new case with the buttons to reuse my old electronics. Be advised that this plastic case will NOT fit the electronics for the 2010 HHR. This case is intended to accomodate internals that use a small watch battery, but the original HHR remote uses the wide, flat style battery. No worries, the portion that I really needed to replace was the rubber buttons and that piece from this new case DOES fit the original case. So, old plastic case, original electronics, NEW rubber buttons, and my remote is working like new again. Totally satisfied.5
