    wouldn't recommend. the plastic part broke guess mine was defective i dunno. but i was testing how good it is if someone pulled very hard on it and it snapped.i gave it a star for effort because it took about 5-10min before it gave. 2I ended up getting a re-pack and parts were missing Even though the package had a label that stated the repack had been verified there were parts missing, no security screws or plastic cover. It looked to be very sturdy and well made but without the proper screws to attach it I sent it back. 3Tape didn't stick but screws worked. I purchased this for my workplace laptop. It generally works as expected.However I initially tried to use the adhesive tape under my work surface and it did not provide a secure hold. I am not sure why, but when I applied force to it as any thief might it came right off.I subsequently fastened it to the underside of my desk using screws.This is adequate for now against a smash and grab , but could be removed by a determined thief with a screwdriver or pry bar. I guess the object is to be the most difficult PC to steal, not really impossible. 4Does the job: makes an anchor point I bought two of these to attach to workspaces that do not have a convenience place to loop a security cable.The product is a metal plate that can be fastened to a surface (more on this below) with a swivel that you can pass a security lock through. The swivel also has a Kensington security slot if you happen to have a cable that has a fitting that goes into a security slot on both ends. The plate comes with a gray plastic cover with a big "Kensington" on it. If you move the swivel around, you hear the metal clanging around -- not a security issue, but more industrial and a bit unrefined.The metal plate attaches to a surface by adhesive tape and/or screws. The included screws are one-directional, meaning they can be screwed in, but the head design has a smooth surface (not a flat edge) so that a screwdriver cannot unscrew it.I attached the plate to a stud in the wall to be very secure. I found the included screws a bit short so for extra security, I recommend getting additional longer one-directional screws to go deeper into the wall stud.Bottom line is that it does the job. Could be better with longer screws and designed so that the swivel doesn't make any noise when moved around. 4Does the job of "not moving" quite well. It's a bit fiddly. The only thing holding the shackle down is some tape but that part is going to be screwed to a wall anyway. The ability to stick or screw this to practically any surface is helpful because most of the walls where I am won't take it very well. 3Not perfect, but it works well I bought this product to keep my laptop locked to the table in my bedroom where I keep it. I couldn't use the screws because of the table material, so I just used the adhesive. It is good and strong. Yes, I could probably get it off if I really wanted to, but if someone took the time and energy to get the anchor off I would definitely notice it. The idea is to keep someone from just walking off with my laptop when my back is turned (or I'm in the bathroom). I'm not stupid enough to think that the lock would be able to stop a determined thief who had time to work on it. It is just right for me. I bought another one for my desk, which is much sturdier. I also keep my bedroom door locked when I'm gone (I put a deadbolt on it). There isn't anything else that would be worth the money for the little bit of extra protection it would give and I'm satisfied.If you want to keep people from taking your laptop in a public setting, you might not like this item. There aren't too many public settings where you would have authority to install it anyway. If you want to keep someone from casually walking off with your computer in a more private setting, this works well. 5Don't Bother Buying This. Seriously. It is a real design disaster. Any thief with a simple screwdriver can remove the anchor in less than a minute. Literally. I can't even believe this thing is for sale. Appears that they got lazy in the middle of the project and sent it to production. Look for an anchor with a metal cap to protect the screws. 1Satisfied our compliance requirements. Needed to lock down existing computers and tech assets for WISP compliance and these did the trick perfectly. The security screws are great. Wouldn't advise using the adhesive strips that are included. Kind of defeats the purpose, but that's up to you. 5Simply stated, it works wonderfully Used this to augment the security of a Kensington cable lock. I don't think the sticky pad should be expected to adequately replace the security created from metal bolts used in locking-up stuff with a Kensington cable lock, but it works well to hold it in place as you install screws. I will buy from this seller again if given the opportunity to do so in the near future. 5Good solid connection point. So I used the adhesive strip to stick the anchor to the side of the steel cabinet under my desktop. It has stuck well to this surface so far (a couple of months as of this writing). I briefly considered trying to stick it to the bottom of the desktop itself but had reservations about how long that bond might last. I haven't given it a good yank and have no plans of doing so, If you really need a secure connection, I suggest using the provided screws (or some nuts and bolts) to attach it with. 5
