This lock is very easy to use (I guess that might depend on brand/model of the laptop). It is really just a deterrent to a smash and grab type thief as you are depending on the case to keep it from being stolen. For some reason, however, the alignment mark for the combination seems to be located on the opposite side of where I would expect it, which can make unlocking a little inconvenient. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. 4don't get this modelI got this lock for our laptop. It worked once, but then never again. So lucky that it was not attached to the laptop. I could not unlock. I tried the method to pick on YouTube for this lock, that didn't work either. This is an older model. I spoke with Kensington tech support and they told me that this model is old and not as secure. I should get a newer model. Kensington has very helpful tech support. 1
