Great addition to an office systemI am using grey Kanto YU-2 speakers in an office. They are quite small. The Sub6mg adds a dimension of sound that is rich and full. Mostly operating at a low volume the sub greatly enhances the sound experience. It is also unobtrusive and fits nicely behind a corner table.5Packs a good punch in a very small footprintThis was the final piece in a new family room surround-sound system, with remainder of speakers being in-ceiling speakers. The room is large (~20x23), and I was concerned that this would not be strong enough to provide the bass (especially since some reviews indicate this is used for a desktop computer surround set-up!), but some of my initial choice was based on aesthetics: the room has a lot of white trim, and I wanted a very small footprint and a subwoofer that would blend into the background (there's a more "powerful" all-white speaker I also found on Amazon, but it cost $250 more than this one, so I thought I'd try this out first. It has succeeded! Listening to my kids watch some action-type movie the other day, I was struck by the significant bass-boost this little sub was able to put out. Certainly enough for us. We're not looking to blow the roof off, but it's definitely enough to provide the proper bass for our room. Glad I found it! ***My only 2 minor quibbles is that it should have a white speaker grill instead of black, and that it should have a white cord (it comes with a black one). I went out and bought a white cord to help it blend in, and it worked fine.5The Bass That I NeddedThis is the first subwoofer that I have ever bought and I am content with it. It definitely has a quality look,feel and weight to it. Mine is paired with the Kanto YU3 speakers,Schiit Modi DAC and my desktop computer. Looking at the fit,finish,compactness and hearing the sound quality,I think it safe to say that my Kanto setup,sets itself apart from the computer speaker pack.4Perfect for my kitchenI paired this with a set of Edifier R1850DB bookshelf speakers for use in my kitchen. Very happy with the results. Some reviews (here and elsewhere) are bashing this sub for its sound. If you are expecting earth shattering bass for your home theater, then you probably want something else. But for music, this really fills out the bottom end nicely, and you can't beat the size.5Bang (Boom) for your buck.I have this sub utilizing a pair of Audioengine A2+ speakers. Though I was pleased with the Audioengines by themselves, after pairing the sub with the speakers it truly was/is awesome!! If you want something with a big bass punch then look elsewhere. 5 stars for fitting my needs for some more bass in my setup and for the loudness I'm allotted in a compact apartment building.5Fantastic companion for AudioEngine A2+, Quality sub for ApartmentsI've had a pair of A2+ for a while and love them, but after so long I felt I wanted some more power in the low-end. AudioEngine unfortunately only makes one subwoofer, and it's borderline excessive, dwarfing the A2+'s in size. So I went searching for a subwoofer that wouldn't look out of place design-wise, and was compact like the A2's. This sub fits the bill, in the ONLY exception that the cabinet is gloss, while the A2's are satin finish. Oh well, the sub stays under my desk anyway. It's small enough to be easily tucked into one of the squares of an IKEA EXPEDIT shelf next to my desk. So while I can't see it, I sure can hear it. The SUB6 is connected to the A2's Line-Out, which is volume-controlled by the A2's master volume knob. This is good so I can leave the sub's volume at a constant value and don't have to worry about adjusting two speakers simultaneously. For its compact size, it delivers clean, very audible low frequencies without hard thumping or rumbling. This is perfect for me as I live in an apartment and can't tear the walls down with sheer bass power anyway. I can't imagine NOT having the SUB6 now in my setup.Two notes:- The SUB6 only comes with a single mono RCA cable for connection. The A2+'s don't have a mono sub-out, so if you want the fullest bass I recommend using a stereo RCA connection to the sub if you're pairing this with A2's.- I can't stress enough how much I love the fact that the sub's volume and crossover knobs are notched and click as you turn them. It makes quick adjustments so much easier. (Say, if you have to temporarily lower the sub's volume. Much easier to put back where it was after.)5Great!Paired with the Kanto YU2 speakers, you won't find a more balanced reproduction of the entire audible frequency spectrum. This sub produces warm, clear lows with some excellent volume. As a matter of fact, paired with the YU2 speakers, I keep the sub level at about 5, while the speakers are up to 10. My source volume (which is my laptop) is rarely turned up to more than 3 or 4% because the system is LOUD for my office space. But man, does this thing sound good. I recommend.5Good Bass without advertising to thieves walking byThis is a really good subwoofer for my YU-6's. It will not shake your windows or win any SPL contests, but it will produce a really nice bass note. I'm a big bass head, but I also don't want to hear it outside my house so others know that this house as stuff to steal. This subwoofer is perfect for my needs. My current setup is for my computer room, YU-6 speakers 3ft away-3ft apart, Sub6GW back corner of desk. Volume around 1/4 turned up: crossover@ 65hz and gain (level) 3/4.This Sub for a guy who likes bass was well worth the money5Good Sub for Filling In the Low End, Not Shaking the HouseVery good fill sub, I bought this to go with the Kanto YU2, after I was let down by the Edifier Luna Eclipse. The Luna's don't have as much bass as everyone says they do, they are missing a LOT of bottom end. The YU2's still needed better low end, but at the size of them you can tell why! The highs on the Luna's are also too sharp, and the bluetooth connection, while it works gets kind of annoying, your device BT has to be off or it will connect automatically.That said this sub does a great job of filling in bass, it will disappear into the sound and keep up with the small speakers without being too boomy. It is a very small good looking sub, most other subs with sound louder, but this thing has a very small footprint so remember what you are buying. When you crank it with the crossover set to higher frequencies you will hear the enclosure rattle a little and the cone start to slap, but again it is meant to fill in the bass not shake the house.I am using this for a makeshift studio setup as I had to get rid of my KRK Rokit's to make room for the 27 inch monitor on the iMac. I loved the even sound the KRK's made but they were simply too big, this sub and the YU2's allow you to have almost no footprint while getting a similar sound.Soundwise, like I stated before it is fairly even and blends well with other speakers, it basically disappears into the sound. Not being able to tell where the sub is through hearing will let you know how good it is at basically doing it's job. I can basically set it and forget it, it is so even throughout it's range. The automatic turn on actually works well, and I haven't had to crank the sound for a bit to get it to turn on. There is a very small almost inaudible click when it turns on and off, but less than other subs. The sub itself runs fairly cool, so you know it's not wasting power.BTW this is a very good looking sub, something that would look great on a desk or in the corner, they come in a few colors as well.Bottom line is that if you are looking for a flat, even sounding sub that takes as little room as possible, get this. It would be the perfect sub for an apartment or closed quarters where you don't want to rattle the house. This is the most clean bass you will get out of a sub this size.4
