    Very PleasedThis unit was a perfect replacement for the original plastic version, which had broken. It was very easy to install, and looks great. When changing the bulb for the first time, the cheezy plastic spring holders broke. This new replacement is metal (thanks Amazon reviewers for the advice), the spring clips are better made and it fits tightly. The supplier shipped pronto so I did not have to look at the guts of the light for long and now we can safely take showers again. 5Metal vs PlasticPurchased metal version after reading reviews even though original one was plastic and lasted 15+ years in the shower. Perfect fit. 5The delivery of this product was fine and went smoothlyThe delivery of this product was fine and went smoothly. However, I see the manufacturer still makes the lens holder with a plastic frame and plastic flanges to support the metal spring-loaded legs that attach to the cowling of the base lamp. What I've found (3 times now) is that no matter how carefully you pull down the frame to change a bulb, the plastic flange tends to break. Usually this happens a year or two after any warranty. So now I'm forced to buy a whole unit including another lens instead of just the plastic frame and flange part that breaks. They used to call this planned obsolescence so that the manufacturer has a nice steady stream of revenue guaranteed. If anyone needs a lens, I have two sitting in my storage closet. 1Replacement trim piece is better than the originalI bought this item to replace a broken plastic ring on a fixture above a bathtub. This looks exactly like the original one that is still working ok. The bonus is that this new ring design avoids the problem that caused the old plastic attachment for the mounting spring to break in the first place.
