    Good Inexpensive fiber stripper - first one had bad hole, replacement unit is fine. This is a pretty good inexpensive fiber stripper. Unfortunately, the first one I got had a badly sized middle hole, which was too small and would microscopically notch the fiber right thru the buffer coating. Then the fiber would break either when I stripped the buffer coating or tried to insert the fiber in connectors firmly. The other 2 holes were perfect. Returned it and the replacement unit was much better. The 250um hole was much better sized and did not cause the same problems. The 125um hole for stripping the buffer coating is perfect, no problems with the new unit. 4Great tool but needs slight tuning Works wonders for stripping 900um corning fiber. Although when your down to the 250um it tends to break the fiber because the set screw isnt set. I recommend finding a precision small L type allen wrench to set the depth properly make sure to have 12 practice strands. Remeber as you strip the fiber you also create macro fractures and cuts. 4 stars because jonard should have known better. 4Work great once adjusted. As others have mentioned, they required some adjustment to set screw to prevent breaking the fiber when stripping. Once adjustment was made these things work great. Don't let the first time you use these be on an important job without getting them adjusted on some scrap fiber. 4it strips the 900 micro buffer down to the 250 just fine but once you try to get down to the ... Not really impressed at all with this stripper, it strips the 900 micron buffer down to the 250 just fine but once you try to get down to the 125 micron fiber many will break on you. I'm getting just as many breaks with this stripper as with the Millers which strip the 250 and 900 micron buffers in one pass. Perhaps mine isn't adjusted properly, not sure, but this has been a waste of money IMO. 2Very good set for the price! Very good set for the price! Only using for the clad and smaller so cannot comment on the outer stripper. 5happy use with OM3 bundles nicer than some more-expensive strippers. happy use with OM3 bundles. 4Great value Great price and it strips the tight buffer perfectly on MM fiber. Works better than using your nail to remove the tight buffer coating and the jaws are sized perfectly for the outer jackets. 5Poor quality control Was not properly calibrated from the factory, nicks and cuts fibers instead of stripping buffer and cladding. Threw it in the trash after several frustrating minutes of initial use. 1Great ergonomics and performance, but check your set screw! These work well, feel good in the hand, and will strip cladding without having to hold at an angle. However, my set screw was adjusted incorrectly from the factory (this is a little disappointing and the reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating). I adjusted the set screw now these work for me flawlessly. I prefer the feel of these over many other fiber strippers on the market. Buy these with confidence, but make sure to test on some spare fiber and adjust your set screw if necessary.Background: I am a professional fiber splicer, so these see a lot of use. 4Well worth investment. Great tool works perfectly. 5
