pretty well built pretty well built, thought it would be a little bigger, coloring of cabinet, not quite what i thought it would be. 3Great quality at a reasonable price - and it looks great! This all-wood (no pressed wood by-products) International Concepts unfinished cabinet is just what I needed and it looks great! (see photo)A 40x28x14" box arrived on my front porch about a week before the projected delivery date. It was heavy; so I had my son help me carry it into the garage. I opened it and found the instructions and hardware bag quickly. Some washers had escaped, but I found them all in the box. There were no missing or broken parts.PACKAGING: Kudos to the packaging engineer! It was packed in pieces in a heavy-duty cardboard box, and contained very few, but biodegradable, foam elements.ASSEMBLY: The assembly instructions were well-organized and easy to follow. I chose to stain the unfinished wooden pieces before assembly and used a Minwax "Gunstock 231" stain that I had on hand. After it dried I compared the color to my other pieces and found that the stain was too "red." I then gave the pieces a coat of "Golden Oak" stain, which added yellow.I then assembled the cabinet. All of the holes were lined up, but the rear slats required that I loosen some screws in order to slightly adjust some pre-installed cleats. NOTE: Do not fully tighten the screws until everything is put together! I used a 1" hole bit to drill into the rear slats for added wire access. And I went down to the hardware store and bought a metal knob for the drawer rather than use the supplied wooden knob.All in all, I am please with the product quality and the price. 5easy to put together This is a lovely piece, easy to put together. The instructions are clear, the holes line up nicely, and the pieces were all there. The wood is as nice as the picture shown. (I've had pieces that looked pretty in the pictures and then came with more knots than wood.)My only problem came from not realizing that the tiny shelves on the sides are shaped slightly differently and will not fit if put in upside down. This is not a design flaw and proves that the whole thing is assembled precisely. 5Missing Assembly Instructions! NO ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED (and none on the internet)!!! By the time I took every piece out of the box, it was too late to try to put it all back in. I read another review of this product that said the buyer figured out the assembly on his own, so that's what I did. It took three times as long, and I ended up with dozens of extra hardware pieces, but it's together, sturdy, and fits perfectly in the corner of my living room. I guess if I had to have something go wrong, missing instructions is better than getting two left panels or no top. It's frustrating when you pay that much money for solid wood furniture, but the finished product was worth the hassle. 3Everything is fine, except instead of receiving a left and right ... Everything is fine, except instead of receiving a left and right center panel, I received two lefts. Am returning this one and getting a replacement. After I've assembled the second one, I'll better be able to express an complete opinion on the unit. I will say this, the instructions were clear. 2Sturdy, REAL wood corner unit that you can customize I purchased this entertainment center after downsizing from a large home to a townhouse. It easily accommodates my 40-inch flat screen TV and I fits perfectly into the corner of the room. I like the fact that is it composed of real wood instead of particle board. I plan to stain it to match the color scheme in my living room. The instructions were clear for the most part and the holes for the screws were perfectly aligned so assembly was easy. Don't you hate with you have to struggle to line up the holes and the screws won't go in straight?! Anyway, the only instructions that weren't clear were the drawer assembly section. It was not clear which was the front of the drawer railing and which was the back. Of course I guess incorrectly and the draw would not seat into the guide rails. After removing the screws, switching the side and putting the screws back in the drawer went in easily. The shelving on along each side are a bit small and I'm not sure what I will use them for, but they add a nice visual accent. I would recommend this item. 4Spend your money on something else Item had missing hardware in one of the panels, I had to go to a specialty hardware store to find replacements. Once assembled, the grooves for the baffles did not line up. One of the sides was warped so badly that I was unable to put the drawer in. 1Not a deal I bought this through the Amazon Warehouse or whatever Amazon calls its dent and scratch department. The description indicated that the furniture was fine but that the packaging was damaged. Not even close. Upon removing the 20+ pieces of wood I discovered that 6 major pieces were split, cracked, and/or dented. The bag that was supposed to hold all of the screws was ripped open and....empty. Only upon tipping the 4 foot long box upside down and shaking it vigorously did the 100-150 screws, washers, and miscellaneous items spill out onto the floor. Wooden dowels necessary to hold parts of the furniture together were either missing or were already embedded in the holes but snapped in two. It was pretty clear that someone tried and failed to put this thing together and then sent it back. Imagine if someone had ordered a meal, took a few bites, sent it back to the kitchen, and the restaurant then served it to another unsuspecting customer. I was that unsuspecting customer. I wish Amazon had been more honest in its description of what it was selling me.It was impossible to get the various pieces back into the box to ship it back, so I sucked it up and kept the stupid thing. With enough wood glue, clamps, and ingenuity, I was able to put the furniture together. Thanks for not including any instructions. That made the experience even more enjoyable. 1Sturdy, Space Saver This TV stand looks really nice in my apartment and saves a lot of room. I stained it which took quite a bit of time and effort (about 2 days) but was worth it. I took one star off because it was delivered without instructions and one piece was slightly damaged. I asked if the instructions could be sent separately but that wasn't possible; I would of had to return the whole thing and ask for a new one. So, I chose to put it together on my own which didn't take as long as expected but I ended up with a lot of hardware that doesn't seem to fit anywhere...It's still holding up fine though!! The cubbies on the side are a bit small and seem more appropriate to hold small decorative items. My 42 inch TV fits perfectly and overall I'm happy with the piece. 4BAD CRAFTSMANSHIP The product arrived and I was very excited to see the quality of the wood/butcher block design. However necessary parts (screws) were missing with the order, a shelf was busted, and the pre-drilled/installed tracks for the drawers were warped and did not align. Also, the side panels did not line up evenly. There is a 1/2 inch gap at the top on the right side when assembled -- again, these are all pre-drilled holes. Nice wood, but seriously subpar craftsmanship.I was unable to find any number or email to contact regarding these issues, and given that it took a while to get here already, I did not have the luxury of sending it back (if that was even possible) and awaiting a new one (or new pieces). I would NOT buy from this company again. 2
