    Suction cup losses its ability to stay mounted to bathroom mirror Update :I purchased this product 3 months ago. It worked great until a few weeks ago , now it always losses it suction and falls off the mirror. It's really annoying because I done everything the company recommended when this happens.1. Clean the mirror2. Wash and dry the suction cup3. Place toothbrush holder on a different section of surfaceThe toothbrush holder still falls off the bathroom mirror.It's too late to return the item for a refund which is even more annoying.If you're going to purchase this suction cup toothbrush holder be aware that it will only function for a couple of months.Below is my original five star review , when I first recieved the item.*************************************************You know you are getting old when you are excited about a tooth brush holder.Great priceArrived in 2 days with Amazon primeAttaches to a mirror or tileHold 2 tooth brushes. 1Worthless This towel bar would have been the perfect size for the small towel I wanted to put on it, but, unfortunately, it does not stick as it should. I followed the directions and moistened the suction cups. I left them dry. I soaked them. I slammed it onto the tile and fastened the lever as hard as I could. I used a gentle touch. Nothing worked. Even when I had nothing hanging on it, it fell down very shortly after every attempt I made to try to get it to stick. Save yourself time, effort, and money, and look elsewhere - ANYWHERE ELSE - for a towel bar. 1Great solution to free up counter space This is my second time buying this holder. This was the best solution for an overcrowded bathroom counter to hold the various toothbrushes and razors. These replaced the more traditional countertop holders that over time are impossible to clean out properly. The nonskid bottoms that look like a black felt become sour over time from the humidity no matter the cleaning you do. These allow me to separate the toothbrush and various things for each person. Out of the three I purchased this time, one had a little more difficulty keeping the suction against the mirror. I just needed to apply a bit more pressure when pressing it against the mirror, "pumping" the suction against it before locking it by folding the cup back down as instructed, Being plastic, I can simply wipe them out with a clorox wipe to remove any residue. I don't use the toothbrush holders on the side. Rather, we hold toothbrushes inside the cup. 4clever thing I have a huge bathroom mirror. I don't have quite as much counter space as I could use. So, instead of getting a stand alone towel holder (hand towel stand, whatever you want to call it) I figured I would spend less than half the money (stand alone towel holders - prime - start at $20) and clear up some counter space.This obviously worked out for that.Some people have complained about the suction cups not holding. I've been using InterDesign suction cup things for about a decade now. Eventually, all of them have fallen down. I picked them up, sometimes moist sometimes dry, put them back on the tiles or mirror and they always have stayed up long enough for me to forget that they fell in the first place.The suction cups on this thing are stiff. The first time I put this up, I didn't consider that and it fell immediately. So, I pushed harder against the middle of the cup and felt it go all the way against the mirror. Then I locked the bar in place.Brilliant.The only reason I don't "love" this thing is I have only had it for a few hours and I kind of think it looks a bit silly but I need it and it works.I would not pay more than $10 for it though. 4Don't buy this bar This product does not live up to it's advertising. It doesn't stick to tile, marble or glass. I tried everything to get this bar to stay on the wall. I followed the instructions for installation. I washed the wall with alcohol and vinegar. I waited twenty-four hours to use it and before the twenty-four hours was up it was off the wall.I read the reviews and they were a mixed bag. I wish I knew what those folks who liked it did to keep it on the wall. What's most frustrating is that I bought a similar bar in Japan twenty-five years ago and it's still on the wall. We have moved many times since I bought and it's seen all kinds of walls and still in stays in place. The plastic breaks once in a while and my husband puts it back together with gorilla glue. It stays up there year after year. The suction cups are just simple little suctions cups made of plastic. Nothing fancy but they work. 1Great towel rack - holds well, if you install it right! I bought this because our apartment bathroom does not have any towel racks and I want to avoid putting holes in the walls. It was easy to install and sticks really well to the mirror. In fact, it sticks so well to the mirror that I had to get a knife to pry it off of the mirror to move it. And I like that it is clear because it will always match my bathroom even if we move again and it doesn't stand out against the mirror.If you are having trouble getting the towel rack to stick, make sure when you are attaching it to your flat surface to push on the center of the suction cup and not on the plastic piece around the suction cup (I uploaded a photo, to show what I mean).The only dislike I have with this product is that it's a bit small. It is only big enough for a hand towel and even then, I have to fold the towel into thirds. But really, it's not a big deal because holding a hand towel is what I bought it for and it does that! 5Great for Bathroom mirror! I've been looking for a small towel bar that would attach to the mirror above my bathroom counter for a long time. I have tried sticky tape towel bars - which would eventually fall off (I'm assuming because of the humidity in the bathroom). I finally stumbled upon this one on Amazon and decided to give it a try.The suction cups secure the towel bar firmly to the mirror, and holds even a soaking wet towel in place. I'm really glad I finally found this, it is doing exactly what I wanted it to do! 5I sometimes check on it to make sure its still in place and am glad to see it is I know some people said it doesn't hold up so well or stick and falls off within minutes which was true for me also when I first applied it to my bathtub wall. The walls around the tub are covered with marble tile top to bottom so I followed the instructions, moistened the suction cups by rubbing with some water, made sure the walls are smooth and clean from debris, then attached the bar on the wall midway 5ft high and locked it very tight.The first tries it fell a few times, I guess due to the wall not being dry and smooth enough. I just wiped the wall again with the palm of my hand up and down, around the sides of the area to make sure it's completely clean, and then I applied the bar again very tightly. So far it hasn't fallen off for the past few weeks which means it's holding up very well. I sometimes check on it to make sure its still in place and am glad to see it is. I hang my shower gloves on it with no problem and I'm really satisfied by it's reliability. It's great and I highly recommend it! 4Simple Solution to Toothbrush and Razor Storage I've been using two of these for about 8 months and I'm very happy with them.Here's how I'm using them: (1) I have one inside my medicine cabinet to hold two tooth brushes. The back of my medicine cabinet is a mirror and this attaches very well. It will also attach to the side which is a smooth metal surface. (2) The other one is in my shower to hold disposable razors. It attached firmly to the ceramic tile wall.The way it works: the "holder" part is hinged and flips up. With the holder flipped up (or down depending on how you're positioning it), you press the suction cup against a surface. While holding it in place, flip the "holder" part down and it "grabs" the surface securely. If you bump the "holder" part, pushing it up, the suction will release and your holder will fall. This has only happened once in the shower.Finally, I really appreciate that it can be easily cleaned. The "cup style" toothbrush holders collect water & debris inside the cup part and are just a breeding ground for bacteria. This keeps the toothbrushes from touching each other and any drips fall to the surface below and can be wiped up quickly. I recommend washing the holder weekly. Just detach it from the wall and rinse it under warm water. Dry it well - suction cup doesn't work well if it is wet. Then reattach it to your surface. 5Nice appearance but the suction cups aren't great and it ... Nice appearance but the suction cups aren't great and it took some work to get them to adhere - but they do work. In all fairness, the fiberglass shower wall where I placed them is a few years old - I'd expect that they'd work much better on a brand new surface or on marble, smooth glass, etc. I used the standard old trick, putting a generous amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball, then thoroughly wiped the surface AND the suction cups, They've been holding tight for a week now so I'm satisfied with them overall. 4
