Customer Reviews

If I had the money I'd go for a steel bell but I love my sandbell! This thing is awesome! Yeah it's kind of time consuming to fill but I'll trade it for how much shipping would be if it came profiled. I probably use this 3-4 times a week in my workouts. You can slam it, toss it, kick it, whatever. It's made very well. I've completely abused this thing & have only noticed a few grains of sand sneak out, it'll probably be years before I have to add any. It's soft enough it not damage any floors, gym equipment, body parts, yet durable enough to take a brutal workout time & time again. 5Great Product! - You Need a Funnel ThoughThe sandbell is a great product. I purchased the 10lbs and 20lbs version. Basically, it is a heavily stitched stretchy neoprene that you fill sand in. So far, I've been using them for the following exercises:1. One-handed throw and catch - I do this to train my grip strength and it really burns my arm2. Weighted sit up3. Weighted side plank - when doing side planks, I lift the sandbell to form a T.4. Slams5. Side throws6. Additional filler weights for my sandbag exercisesI've been using the sandbells twice a week for about a month already. I personally haven't experience any sand leaking out during my training. My only gripe is the fact that the sandbells DO NOT come with a funnel. I wasn't aware of this. I didn't have a funnel at home that was deep enough. I ended up ordering one from amazon:[...]. Note, you have to cut the bottom of the funnel a little bit as the opening is too small and the sand would take forever to come out. No big deal, I just have to wait for a few more days. 5need a better disclosure pleaseNot 25lb. These are 6 lb. need a better disclosure please. Womp Womp2If you can afford them buy the prefilled onesBuy the prefilled ones. I have purchased 10 of these: 2x15lb, 2x12lb, 2x10lb, 2x8lb and 2x4lb all empty. I purchased them over a few months. I ve previously purchased other sandbag workout items so I m very familiar and have the process/equipment required. It s the neck of the tube and angle that you will struggle with. If you re on a budget I totally get it BUT if you can afford the prefilled ones then buy them - it s not worth the frustration. 2Like it, don't love it.I liked it, but didn't love it. I bought the sandbells to throw some variety into my exercise classes. The shifting sand makes using these a great workout.Pros: I like the fact that they come empty and you can fill them yourself. Saves on shipping. They are tough, I was skeptical at first about how durable they were, but after putting them through a few bootcamp classes they held up quite nicely.Cons: The manufacturer said they may leak a few granules, however, both of the sandbells I bought leaked dust everywhere. It came out of the seams on the edge of the sandbell. The 'Ngazzle' (pronounced nozzle, how you fill the sandbell up) seems to keep working its way out of both of the sandbells I bought, I haven't found a solution to fix this yet.Overall: Despite the subtle leaking of dust, I probably will buy more of these. If you use this product in an environment that isn't nitpicky about keeping everything clean all the time, these are a great addition to your workout! 4Bought Another One!This is my fifth Sandbell that I have purchased. I use them on a regular basis for my High School players and personal training. The Sandbells are easy to fill as long as you have a long neck funnel. A rubber band is supplied to seal the filling tube. How to use them. The video provided by Hyperwear really help guide in the different exercises you can perform them. They can be used similar to dumbbells, medicine balls, kettle bells, and slam balls.I load mine in backpacks or sand bag for in doing bodyweight push ups and pull ups.MaintenanceI have had a set for over 5 years and clean them every two weeks with OdoBan.I have had to re-fill the sand in them a couple of times. This is mainly due to the slam workouts that I use with the high school teams. The Sandbells do not leak but the sand breaks down. This appears a fine dusk when throw them down. 5Sandbells Rock! These things are great. Ok face it dumbbells may be the best, but they have their limits. Weighted Bars, Kettlebells, Medicine balls and of course Dumbbells are all great tools and each have their own little speciality but SANDBELLS let you do things none of these other great tools will. The various grip techniques that you can do with Sandbells can never be done with the other tools. For those of us who run a keyboard and mouse for a living hand wrist and grip are very important things, just as they are with many other professions and sports. So Far I have the 2,4,6,8,10,12 and 15lb versions but plan to purchase the heavier ones as well. Filling them cost about 7 bucks and a little time, a funnel is almost necessary but I had one. There were no instruction or recomendations on exactly to close them up but common sense did. For the record roll up the fill spout/neck and tuck it in the cavity where it comes out. This seems to work fine and I have had no spills. It is easy to open them back up and add or subtract more sand. I have used these as a replacement in the same moves I would do with the other tools, and found that I seem to feel more workout in my hands and wrists. This is what I expected and wanted. I have also used them on a rebounder and they are good, you do have to try n get em to hit flush and not on the outer seem or they seem to bounce akwardly(not necessarily a bad thing). I prefer these to medicine balls with handles because the grip variations with SandBells are better. I haven't had them all that long yet but they seem durable enough and they are a great addition to my workout tools. The versatility of these SandBells will surely bring a new dimesion to anyones workout routine and they don't hurt if you drop them on your foot. 5Not what I expectedI just got around to opening these up. The vendor does not mention, at least not where I could read, that the sandbells come unprepared with no sand. I have to go buy the sand, a funnel, find a rubber band--which was supposed to be included but wasn't--and figure out how to set them up. The instructions are unclear. Guess I'll have to go on YouTube and find a DYI video. In short, I am not happy with the way the product was delivered. Sorry....125lb sandbellMine was listed as "used", but it did not appear to be used at all (no scuffs, tears or loose stitching). After picking up some playground sand from my local home improvement store, I filled up my 25lb bell. It is holding just fine. Thanks! 4Amazing product, no rubber band (annoyed)I normally don't write reviews, but I felt compelled this time.I have used sand bells for quite awhile, in various gyms and for clients. I recently bought a house and have a large shop that I am turning a portion of it into a gym, so I wanted to purchase a sand bell. These things are of excellent quality, truly awesome workout aid, and are much better than any of the slam balls or medicine balls for the desired effect. However, I am giving this 4 stars due to me being quite irritated that the packaging clearly states that the rubber band is included, when I did not receive one. This was very frustrating as I do not have any rubber bands in my household, and had to buy a whole pack, hoping that the rubber bands I bought will be strong enough to hold and not break. This was really annoying as it is one of those small things that just drives me nuts, I would have honestly rather had them forget the sandbell and me have to report that then a small rubber band that just makes it a huge hassle. Anyways, love the product, but would appreciate more attention to detail 4do not buy pre-filled SandbellsI like the sandbells. It's a great idea but they will wear out over time. at 18 months I have to replace a few because the outside edge covering cracks and spits allowing sand to leave the sandbell.Do not buy pre-filled sandbells. The sand used is very coarse and abrasive. It will wear a hole in your sandbell fast. Buy white silica sand. It's an extra dollar or two per 50 pounds but it very fine and less abrasive and has no dust. Someone bought me a 50 pound pre-filled sandbell and it developed a hole in less than 6 months. I've had all my other sandbells that I filled with silica sand for a year before I got the 50 pound sandbell and they showed no signs of holes.I really enjoy using them but the fact they wear out after less than two years has me considering other equipment options.I did contact Hyperwear about the worn out 50 pound sandbell and they told me I needed to get the original owner to contact them. He tried several times and did not get a response. So not sure how good the warranty is? 3Sandbells Rock! These things are great. Ok face it dumbbells may be the best, but they have their limits. I love the softness of them. and for variety. You can fill easy.. and thy don't hurt your wrists or your hands.5Pretty goodGood product, needs a little better stitching but good deal for the price.5Great purchaseI bought these for my home gym. I've used them at a branded gym and really enjoyed the different challenges they provide versus a kettlebell. I'm not a trainer or an experienced PX90 person - just a regular gym goer (for 27 years now). I bought (1each) 10-15-20lb. I would recommend 8-10-15 for a beginner (maybe 6-8-10) or those with need for lighter weights.Filling the sandbell is easy but recommend that you keep the sandbell neck very straight and extended as you fill with a funnel (not included). It's challenging to figure out the weight as you're filling it, but that's just how things go. So far the neck/nozzle hasn't come out from the pocket, the rubber band (which should be stuck to the back of the product label) has stayed on, and no sand dust or loss to report. 4
