    Tremendous help with studying I live in a noisy area and sometimes headphones just aren't enough. This was a great help whenever I needed to study. Cuts out like 90% of the noise. I can finally not hear my little brother screaming at the tv when he plays video games and do my homework. 5Superb quality, okay performance I purchased these headphones with the intent of using them to block out noise at work of cube-mates. Headphones work for the most part, but the slightest bit of hair under them minimizes their effectiveness. Even with hair removed, I am still able to clearly hear a person if they are within 3 feet of me. Overall, good for general office noise but not great at blocking out your neighbors. 4Headphones for Classroom I bought two pair for my classroom for students to use while reading or working. They are great for students who have a difficult time focusing. In fact, two pair aren't enough! I thought students may feel self-conscious wearing them, but they work so well, students are constantly asking for them. The headphones work well enough to block out most sound from 24+ people in a classroom! 5really good for kids! These are wonderful! We have a 6 year old with central auditory processing disorder, and they highly recommend headphones, which we've had for years, but she has recently started complaining about the headphones hurting her ears - she wears earrings, and hates anything that squeezes. These are perfect as the ear opening is much larger and able to accommodate her entire ear with none of the foam area touching her ears or earrings. Because of this they feel more comfortable. The band also gives a secure fit without squeezing her head, which tends to give her headaches. Really good design, good function, and GREAT price! 54/5 Got these for work because they looked almost identical to the last ones I had which served me well for 4 years til I mistakenly ran them over with my Jeep. Turns out they aren't quite as good, biggest issue I had was keeping them from sliding down the back of my head. These were a bit too small for my NORMAL adult sized head. It was a modern inconvenience that I could live with but a few months later I decided to get a better pair and keep these as my backups. If you aren't using them heavily like me it maybe something you don't even notice. As far as keeping noise out they worked fine for what I was doing, but not so well that it would keep me from hearing outside noises in case of an emergency. I'm sure there are better ones on the market for only a few $ more, but these aren't bad. 4Better than foam plugs, no hearing complaints on a large shooting range We run an instructional range with up to 40 shooters at one time. Originally I used the disposable foam ear plugs but these require that the user installs them correctly. It is too difficult for many to install even the smaller canal versions of the foam ones. So we reluctantly switched to these. After using them for 2 years and training over 6000 students, we've had no complaints about ears hurting. For the price you can't beat them. 5Works but may be worth it to pay a bit more for something nicer Bought these as a quick cheap pair to get beaten up at the shooting range. Compared to some of the other Howard Leight stuff that I own, these things are pretty cheap quality. I guess you get what you pay for. The biggest problem was that they don't grip very well to the head so both me and my wife had times where there was a gap somewhere and sound was not being completely muffled. We replaced them with nicer models and they have since been delegated as the loaner pair.In short - they work, they block a good amount of sound, but they don't always work very well. 3Entry-level hearing protection. My ear canals get tired with my 3-flange silicone earplugs, so I wanted something to take their place. These did the trick, as long as I have them positioned just so (to eliminate air gaps). Of course, what did I do then? I bought earphones to go inside them so I can jam to some metal while shooting at the range. So much for giving my ear canals a break. ;) Once my kids saw what I was doing, they laid claim (and fought over them), so I ended up buying more.The cushions are quite stiff, so they easily get air gaps. They're quite bulky, as all headphone-style muffs are, so they're not the best for shooting a rifle. They're sufficient for pistols, though 4
