    best product for scraping off silicone caulk After trying a half dozen products, I purchased quite a few of these. They are the best for scraping off silicone caulk. (For the best result, I first applied 3M caulk remover and waited 24 hours.) If you have a big project, you will need to purchase multiples because the edge gets chewed up. I like the plastic because it doesn't scratch my window frames. 5It works, but corners wear down quick The corner removal part worked great. However, the edges on the flat end wore down fairly quickly.I did not use the smoother, but it seems like its decent enough to do its job without leaving a mess. 3Poor quality and does not get the job done This is a 2 piece set. Both are made of plastic. The caulk remover tool is not strong enough to remove old caulk. I decided to soak and treat the old caulk with chemical after difficulty and still had trouble with the caulk remover tool. Additionally, the tool does not assist in reaching in corners. The tip of the caulk remover has chipped and I'm not a big woman and am not too strong for it to break after the first use. The second tool is for smoothing caulk. You're better off using a gloved finger. I would not recommend this set. 1Works but hurt to use This was a little clunky to use. I was peeling up caulking in our bathroom, and after using this tool, I walked away sweaty and with bloody index knuckles, though the caulking came up. Maybe I was doing it wrong? 3A real quality product. works great and looks like a pro did the caulking 5Cleaning tool most useful. The applicator won't work well if you have ... Overall acceptable. Cleaning tool most useful. The applicator won't work well if you have to apply extra caulking cause it overflows the appricator. 3Smoother than a finger. I can't lay down a smooth bead of caulk to save my life, and found the smoother tool helpful with that. The remover, not so much, but the caulk I was working with was pretty old and gnarly. I ended up using a flat blade screwdriver and razor blade. Still, for the price it's not a bad kit for the DIY'er. 3Solid and easy to use and clean This is as advertised. Solid and easy to use and clean. Regarding the smoother, this one doesn't work any better than any others and using a wet finger is still the best plan. The scraper is good for edges with the pointed section. However, for 3 seam corners, the tool is too large to work well there. Also, using the flat edge of the scraper, you can't get real close to a corner, as the pointed end on top of it is so large as to stop the tool from getting in close. I ended up having to order a flat plastic scraper to get the job done. I will keep this tool though for its ability to get into cracks. 3Works This works pretty well to a point. The point on the triangle area does get in the way while using the flat scraper portion. There is absolutely no way to get this in every nook and cranny of a corner. I used my finger instead of the shaper because I wanted a smaller caulk seam 4I LOVE this tool I LOVE this tool. I always try to have 1 on hand for my next big caulk removing project. It enables you to clear out ALL OF THE old caulk and prep the area for the new caulk - then the smoother tool enables you to put the new caulk in a perfect smooth line and clear the excess. It's a must have. I usually have to throw it away after each job, so I always buy a couple at a time so I am always ready. 5
