    I've used them numerous times in the past with good These were ok.. I installed mine through 1x6 tg pine and 1/2" sheetrock. The clips wouldn't lock at all. I simply took them out and used those existing holes for small nails. And the housings were rather flimsy. But they are halo brand. I've used them numerous times in the past with good results 3Easy to install but doesn't lock in well This is easy to install. Comes with a template to get the right sized hole. The instructions are on the template as well which makes it handy. The one issue is it's difficult to get the clips to stay in place. First one clipped just fine. Second one couldn't get it to stick so tried the other two but then the first one would pop out. Couldn't push them in any further they just don't work well. I finally got all of them hooked but no idea if they all stayed once I got the LED housing installed. But I made the hole tight so it won't just fall out even if they all came loose. 4Didnt lock in place nicely had trouble getting the tabs to lock, added a screw through each lock to hold in place. other than that, work great. 3Worked out well Exactly as described 5Five Stars This thing was the perfect height for a spot that had some pipes above it. Great product! 5Five Stars Great price 5Easy to install Easy install to add lighting to my kitchen. Made huge difference. Electrician loved ease of install 5Don t buy! Don t buy, simple as that! 1I love these! I installed 12 of these, and I love how much light I have now, compared to just an overhand fan light. I've also installed a number of 4" housings in one of my rental properties, but I like this 6" housing much better because it has so many trim and lighting options and the manufacturer is well-known and has been around for a while. Keep in mind that you'll need a stud finger, and 6 1/4" hole saw for this project, and probably a drill bit and mandrel for it too. It comes with a supplied back-plate for self-drilling the hole, but I wouldn't recommend using a jig-saw or larger saw, as the blade will go in pretty deep and you won't know what you're axing back there. With a hole saw you can stop cutting as soon as you break through the ceiling. I also love that these are extra short in height so that they can fit under a support beam or other such obstruction sitting on a standard sized rafters.Note that there are 4 clips that must be pushed in with a screw driver to get this housing to stay in place. Every so often there are some stubborn clips, but I was able to get them all in, all the way. It's important to get them all fully installed so the light stays in place! Here are some trouble shooting tips for stubborn clips: (1) run a screwdriver behind the clip along the back of the ceiling to make sure there's no insulation or drywall bits obstructing it; (2) try bending the bottom of the clips a little to allow it go in a little further; (3) then use a hammer and tap the bottom of the screwdriver to drive the clip into place - don't worry about damaging anything this is pretty sturdy. 5
