Customer Reviews

Very strong. Has a better memory than I do! It's very strong. It is guaranteed to turn in to a mess the second it comes out of the bottle. It has quite the memory on it and if you need to pull it a long distance, you might want someone to keep an eye on it so that it doesn't turn into a ball of string that you can't find the end of. I was hoping that I could pre-cut a couple pieces so that I could pull up multiple strings....nope! I found that to be a bad idea. 3Old standby, just works! You can't beat the price for this fish line. I use it for every job. Dispenses clean and easy every time, 6500' per bucket, and really strong. I leave a piece in every conduit for the next guy, and I'll use it around the house for small projects as well from time to time. Can't go wrong if you need inexpensive fish line or even just for around the house. 5Good pull string Not all pull string is equal. I used the whole thing and needed some more to complete job. Bought orange pull string from Home Depot and it tangled super easy. This stuff was much easier to use. 5Hey, it's fish line, it pulls wire! Not much else to say. It's a simple product, poly line.It comes out of the spool / packaging easily, so you can fish some line down to pull wire, pull the wire with line attached and it doesn't get snarled up inside of the package or get stuck. So, the product works just as expected. It's rated for ~210 lbs, I pulled pretty hard on the line and no breakage, even when rubbing against semi-sharp edges of wood and things of the sort. Good stuff. You may be able to find it cheaper at your local big box. 5I recommend it simply because it's easy to store does what you need it to do. Only complaint is that because it's all crammed inside that container, the cord doesn't lay flat. For the odd job around the house, I recommend it simply because it's easy to store. If you need something that won't have "memory" and would lay relatively flat...go with something else. 4Yes you do get a better value but what a waste if you only need ... For some unknown reason the big box stores do not sell a smaller size of fishing line, they only carry the 6500' 5-gallon bucket sizes for $41. Yes you do get a better value but what a waste if you only need a small amount for small projects. This line pulls easily from the dispenser and can be fished back and forth multiple times through the same line. It does not seem to tangle when piled together like a lot of other string lines I have used. Great product. 5Waste of Time This fish line is supposed to help you pull wires. The problem is that it gets caught everywhere and frays. I probably should have expected as much seeing that the fish line is woven with big gaps in the winding that catch everything. You're much better off just re-running your fish tape, as annoying and time consuming as that may be. 1Works well I bought this to bundle tree trimmings so that our garbage people would take them. This worked perfectly, it is durable and easy to work with and doesn't coil up when you try to lay it out. 5Great "pull String" with excellent strength and great versatility This "Pull String" is strong, it was able to hold myself up while testing the strength of it.If you are going to wire your house with any type of new wiring, Cat6 (cat5,cat5e,cat6a,cat7) or any new power outlets, and you are going to put the wire down the wall, run this with any wiring. How to use:1.) Drill a hole in the Wall header-board from the attic or above the raised ceiling.2.) use some sort of Fiberglass Push stick (something like https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RV4T3U/)3.) attach your wiring line and this line to the push stick. (I was pushing from my attic, so i put both Cat6 and this line over a horizontal support board that was directly above the hole i drilled.)4.) push both lines down the wall.5.) attach this line to the box you're pulling to. if its an in-wall-blue-high-voltage power box, just loop it between two of the push out tabs, and tie a knot. If its a low voltage in-wall punchout box (like http://www.amazon.com/Arlington-LV1-10-Voltage-Mounting-Bracket/dp/B003JQL0S8) there should be a small slit in the upper right you can loop it through and tie it. This will prevent it from being pulled back up the wall when using the string.6.) in the attic / above the ceiling, pull the string that is now tied at the box tight. from where you will anchor it in the ceiling measure out an additional length it takes to get down the wall, (if you have 10 foot ceiling, measure about 11 feet extra, and so on.)7.) anchor line8.) while line is still tight up in the attic, create a small loop knot about 2 feet from the top of the wall, this will allow you to put wiring inside the loop and electircal tape it, and pull it back down the wall. the extra length of cord above the wall is exactly for this purpouse.with this setup you can now pull additional wiring down to the same box with no push stick or struggle needed. this is excellent if used in a tough to get to box or a box you'll be pulling multiple cords to, like a central wiring box.the picture: you can see the pull string in the upper right of the box tied off. (sorry for the poor quality, low light closet) this will be my central Box where all the wiring comes to terminate, so i'll be pulling lots of cords to this box. the first wire, i pulled the first cat6 and pull string. the other two i just used the pull string to pull down from the attic. 5Great line, be careful of it wrapping around your cable This is strong, easy to use fish line. I tape it to the side of my cable box and pull it and the cable at the same time.Pros: Fairly strong, compact container, doesn't get stuck in the containerCons: wraps around the cable and bunches up when cut. Be sure to tape it down before cutting 4
