I drove for Lyft for two-a-half years....and I have never found an app that works anywhere near as well as the Garmin GPS'es that I have owned. As soon as one direction is completed, it gives the next one. It tells you what lane to be in, and often gives landmarks, as in "turn right after the Shell station." A lot of phone apps give you about thirty seconds warning to cross two or three lanes, and my all time favorites, "Go North" or "Go toward downtown." The only complaint I have is with voice command. I often have to repeat myself two or three times, although what the GPS thinks I've said is often quite amusing.5Maps are Old and unhelpful even after updatesMaps are about 2-3 years old after updating. That s poor service given all the hype about this Garmin products.Can t get Live Traffic working and the same for Parking info feature. No instructions or either included and I have a feeling they may be paid features that require subscriptions. Google maps is better and free.3Garmin DriveSmart 61 NA- LMT-S-mtGreat product with case and easy map to follow and hear. Liked the way it tells you to stay to the right 3 lanes or splitting lane, etc. Also had some accessories that Beach Camera threw in. Very nice and quickly received. Comes with map updates.5This thing has its own mind!I love this little thing from the first day I used it. It has a voice of an old lady, very soothing and with an accent, which pronounced E similar to A. Lovely, isn't it? Then just like some ladies, not only it has its own strong mind but it can change its mind quickly. There have been a few times, I was directed to a highway exit. While I was close to the exit but not even there yet, it changed its mind to recalculate a different route. Just amazing. On the other hand, it can also be very stubborn sometime to insist on a particular route when I was obviously on a different route. There were cases that a simple straightforward local drive will do it, it instead me to go through the tangled wire-like highway full of traffic in the rush hours. Even I insisted on driving local roads, whenever it could, would ask me to go to the highway again. Oh, it cannot tell some one-way roads either even after two updates and every time tells me to go the wrong way of a one-way road near my home. Anyway, just a fantastic product that looks nice, but don't trust it too much. When I first moved to the city, I got it and trusted it too much. Guess what? I wasted a lot of time looking for the right directions. One thing leads to another. I was involved in a traffic accident because of this little thing.1I love that it came quick & the split screen you ...I love that it came quick & the split screen you get when you're driving to make sure you get off at the exact right exit works Wonders. I got it for my new Driving Job.5Battery life is too shortThe battery life is too short (less than 30 mins) to handle the device off the charger. The device must be on car charger to program it. One cannot do anything at home as there is no wall charger provided. The manuals do not provide any suggestion about the type of charger or the specification. Also, Garmin does not provide a wall charger for the cost of the device. This is very disappointing that Garmin does not have good battery with at least 5 hours standalone working life. The device shuts off without any warning and it has to be redone all the way, as the programs do not stay saved. Hope Garmin can recall the devices to fix the battery. If this is not done, the device is not worth its money.3This is a mis leading product....EXTREMELY disapointed!I bought this to replace an older Garmin....I like the older one better. This 61 is flakey...sometimes you have to touch the back arrow to make it work properly. Also..and this is a big one....for the price that I paid for this, I should have received the traffic adaptor/charging cord. I had to by it seperate after I found out that the 61T itself does not give traffic reports and re routing. I would have expected a much better product. In fact I may return it because I think it is defective.1Like this one SO much better than the last GPS I purchased!!!The last one I had would often lag, and tell me to turn when I was already at the place to turn. This one has been reliable so far, and I've had it a couple of months. I drive around all day long, seeing clients, and my route changes daily. The screen is large, there is voice command available- I can't touch the GPS when I'm driving- California state law. The ONLY complaint I have is that I have to hook it up to my cell phone to get traffic info. I don't want to use my phone data when driving. But other than that, I am very pleased with it.4Smart Features Deluxe Bundle not worth the additional cost.Message: The Garmin Drive Smart 61 is a good road trip navigation tool. The various driver alerts it offers are easily understood and delivered in a timely manner.However, the smart features "deluxe" bundle was not worth the additional cost. Of the items in that bundle, the hard storage case was the most value. The "decogear" 12v and USB expansion plug failed after only a very short use. In addition the snout that plugs into my vehicles 12v outlet is too long and does not fit snugly causing it to fall out when additional devices are plugged into it.I also never received the lens cloth or the small paper cards (what their for I don't know). I did receive the stylus, but it's not needed with the Garmin.dded little to the value of the Garmin product which in itself is a good system. I resubmitted my review after I found out " This order was Fulfilled by Amazon(FBA)" not the sellers thus the omissions were caused by Amazon.2High end unitI go to many customer locations over a large area. With this unit, I save them as a favorite and can always get there as fast as possible. I use my phone a lot so I don't want to use my phone. Besides, the separate GPS unit does the job more efficiently.But Garmin has made it so transferring favorites is easy with their Express but it only does a partial job. I'm having to re-enter a number of customers.Also, volume is not as loud as my model 50.Otherwise, it's just getting used to different placement of icons. And why did you change favorites to a heart?4
