big beautiful lightingBig beautiful lighting. It's a beast.now one thing I will say I struggled with was trying to get it open. It seemed like no matter how how hard and far I pushed in the umbrella mechanism, it wouldn't catch. Then I noticed the center rod could be screwed (or unscrewed rather). A couple of turns to unscrew it, pressed the umbrella mechanism down, and it locked into place. Just an FYI if some of you get it and had the same issue I was having.5Speedring is useless.The soft box itself is fine. It seems well constructed and is light enough to meet my portability requirements. However, the speeding that came with it is useless. It s a 2 piece Bowen s speedring, and the outer ring slips off the sleeve under the weight of the soft box. The soft box and sleeve fall off the Bowen s S adapter, but the ring stays in.So I ll Just order a better speedring. Otherwise...fine product.3READ the REVIEWS before mine! BOWENS MOUNT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE CONNECTEDI wonder if the manufacturer ever read the reviews or even attempted to fix the issue. They'll see every one of the item be returned. Glad to have Amazon return policy!The tabs that screw on the Bowens mount is little bigger and cannot be screwed. Result = useless product. Dont waste your time on this!1Bowen s ring will not work!!!!!!!!The Bowen s ring does not match the soft box. Reach out to Fotodiox directly and get the right ring for this soft box. You will get this home and won t be able to mount it. You will need to buy a new Bowen s ring or new mounting hardware to make this work as described. Please do not ignore this advice.1My favorite modifierI would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for amount of pressure it takes to open the umbrella/locking it in place. I'm always cautious not to pinch my finger. Other than that this is easily my favorite modifier (and I have a few). This give me the BEST LIGHT for my work. Mine HAS THE BOWENS MOUNT. I'll attach a few images of it in use with my AD600, Behind The Scenes (BTS) set up, and a size comparison to a traditional 120cm octobox. Make sure you have enough space to set up. This modifier is huge! Also remember to use counterweight/sandbags because the bigger the target, the more likely it can be blown over. They are correct. I assumed this was an issue with their order, but it appears to be a manufacturing defect. The bowens ring fits into the softbox recess, but the tabs that attach the bowens mount are too long and will not screw down. If you need a Bowens mounted softbox, I recommend you find another manufacturer.1Great ModifierI love this thing! I really want a Broncolor Para 88 but I can't afford the $3400 price tag. I have been using a beauty dish for most of my portrait work but I wanted to try something else. I use one of FotoDiox's beauty dish discs on the center rod to mimic the look of the Broncolor Para 88. I've only used this once so I still have some experimenting to figure out how to best use it. It's the easiest soft box I've ever had to set up and break down. I highly recommend this for anyone shooting portraits. If you want to shoot full length you will need a larger modifier as the falloff on this is abrupt. The only unknown is how it will hold up over time, thus I deducted 1 star. I will try to come back to this and update after I have had more experience with it.4FOTODIOX EZ -PRO ROCKSOutstanding product a must buy if you need a softbox. After spending hours online looking for a softbox that didn't require the build time of a LEGO village to buildup messing with rods all over the place building something on location under stress like a parent putting together a kids bike the night before Christmas ask yourself WHY WHY ? before you can take your first image and pay an arm and a leg for it as well. I found this beauty on AMAZON This thing ROCKS Its the best, just place on the ground press down like an umbrela motion to open its locks in place and you're set thats it a 5 yr. old can do it , if it takes you longer than 5 seconds to set up you took to long already . Its was so simple i had to laugh my other softboxes i have with the old school collection of rods to set up just retired , i plan to buy more product from FOTODIOX EZ-PRO line these people have figured out how to put out a great product design as well as a price point we can live with to achieve our goals. I used this unit with a FLASHPOINT 360 and was blown away by how much light and control this softbox puts out , up next ill try it with my new FLASHPOINT XPLORER 600 I'm sure its going to take my photography to another level on my next session for sure. And get this its not that big stored away, on my first use i took it out with a light stand tied down to the tour pak on my Harley Road Glide to do a shoot , all my gear , the model and her gear yes life is good . Well don't sit there collecting dust in thought order this thing and get out and create those images you've been storing in your mind. Don't take pictures create images ..............5A great modifier. Especially for the price.I was quite impressed by the quality of light coming from this modifier. It was directional, a nice soft light, but with contrast.Very simple to set up and take down.I would recommend using a c-stand with this setup, as a strobe with the modifier can become quite front heavy.For the price, it can't be beat.The image was taken with the 36 inch modifier, at around 45 degrees up and in front, with two strip boxes on either side to create the rim light. Shot in front of a Savage white paper backdrop.4Great ProductAmzing product. Heard great storys and always doubted products because there is so much bad stuff out there.This is a great softbox. Easy to set up. It come ina great well built case. Some reviewers stated hard to open. Well yes it is. Its not a cheap umbrella. Flip it over. Set it up on the ground. And push the center down and lock into place. Do the reverse to close.They forgot forgotten. Bowens adapter when mine was shipped. I called Amazon and they fixed the issue. I did have a godox bowens adapter and it will not work. You MUST have a Fotodiox specific adapter for this or it wont fit the flange.Going to order another. Get a big heavy duty stand. I got the Neewer Pro 9' heavy duty and they are perfect for my lights and this box.5
