Customer Reviews

Foam Gun Works very well, just as expected. I use spray foam for sculpting and for other applications and this gun does a fine job of shooting foam in a nice bead. Be sure to clean the end very well with solvent when done though, and best to leave a can of foam mounted to the gun when not in use, otherwise foam can harden in the barrel and tip and that's it for the gun. 4Worked for first 2 cans now clogged It worked great for 2 cans of foam. After each use/can was empty I ran the gun cleaner throught it multiple times to ensure it wouldn't clog. The third time I did this I came back to it a few weeks later and it's completly clogged with hardened foam that I can't seem to clear up. Sucks cause i really liked the control it had and also have 4 unused cans that only work with the gun.... 2more economical way to use foam I got tired of a) tossing away partially used foam containers and b) getting the straws all clogged up. This is the way to go. Note that you might want some type of cleaner. I didn't get any yet and saw how much foam was on the end of the chrome nozzle after the first use (ahh!). I just put a *little* gasoline on a paper towel and it cleaned right up. If you do that, be careful! (don't leave a towel with gasoline on it *anywhere* in the house or garage - it's highly flammable!). Kerosene might work as well and be a little less volatile. You can always get this over to your friends' houses if you have any left over. Cleanup is much easier so you won't mind sharing it. 5Love it!! This gun is a dream to use! I have occasionally used the cans with the straw you can get a HD, and I hated them! The foam keeps oozing out, and gets all over the place. And you can only use the can once. This gun is SO MUCH BETTER than the single use canisters! When you stop pressing the trigger, the foam immediately stops coming out. You can control the size of the bead precisely. And you you can store the the remaining foam for later without everything clogging up. It makes foaming fun, almost addictive. Kind of like using a magic eraser.A couple of tips:- Get the cleaner to go with it. It is alcohol-based, and magically dissolves sticky, unhardened foam. You can either spray the cleaner like a can of spray paint, or mount it in the gun to clean the gun out.- Don't unscrew the trigger stop too far. I did once. It popped of when I pressed the trigger, and then the trigger wouldn't close, causing an uncontrollable stream of foam! 5Major design flaw Worked fine the first time I used it. The second time I tried to use it, the foam was coming out very slowly. I turned the adjustment knob to increase the flow rate. When I squeezed the trigger, the adjustment knob popped off and flew across the room. Foam was now spraying out of the gun. I couldn't put the gun down without causing the pressurization gas to leak rapidly out of the can. So I had to carry it around until I could clamp it to something. The knob was too small to find. I accepted that there would be no way to use this gun again and unscrewed the can of foam so that I could use it with a better designed spray foam gun later. What kind of idiot designs something like this with a spring-loaded adjustment knob and no stopper to prevent it from being loosened too far or flying out? 1Great Price Point Determine your use when considering any product. Accordingly, this product for me is near perfect. I use the pro gun foam occasionally, so this fits my needs. The handle is plastic but tough enough for semi-pro use. The barrel is metal.Tip: if stored, just use a pliers to clamp around any hardened foam on the end of the barrel and twist off excess and foam should dispense again. If your use is everyday, you may want to buy Dow Chemical Pro gun, however, this is not fair to compare this dispenser gun since the Dow gun is 2 and 1/2 times the cost. Overall, I would give this gun 4.5 Stars for price and homeowner/semi pro use. I can't speak to everyday use but I would make an educated guess that if providing this gun to employees, I would be concerned about how they abuse this product(Drops, pressure, etc.). However, you should be fine if its personal use. 4great value This is a excellent gun to use with the 24 oz. Great Stuff Pro foam cans, It is priced quite a bit lower and works just as well. It does not have the "barbed' tip if you want to add extension tubes like some guns have. These guns can be awkward to operate in a crawl space, ( the can has to be upside down and must be up for the gun to work properly) If you have difficult areas to access, I would recommend getting a gun that has a barbed tip, this allows vinyl tube extensions for hard to reach areas. Youtube has many sites showing how to use and clean these guns. 5This was my first foam gun and after 4 foaming sessions spanned over the course of a couple months the gun still works like new. Was initially going to spend $100+ on a pricer model, however decided to test this gun out first cause I have heard that with any foam gun it is possible to gum up with dried foam. This was my first foam gun and after 4 foaming sessions spanned over the course of a couple months the gun still works like new. I have read other reviews warning about twisting the back knob open too much so I have followed that advice as well. No jams thus far. You will have to scrap off the tip from time to time with a razor blade if you get some dried up buildup. 5Why didn't I get this years ago?! After using 40-50 cans of Great Stuff foam in the past two years on varoius project, I thought there had to be a better way.The conventional can of Great Stuff has little to know control of the flow of flow. Also, once it setup, it expanded even more. This lead to waste, since I usually had to cut the excess off ----waste.The FOMO HT300 is able to control placement and bead size extremly well.Highly recommended if you get into project that require more than 6-7 cans of standard foam. One can of foam for this gun AND this beast delivers great results! 5kept same can on gun for a year It took me a year to use up my first can of foam: 30 or 40 small jobs, each of which would have required buying, and wasting, most of a can of the foam with the straw dispenser. This thing clearly saves a bunch of money. To keep it going:Keep the can on, don't take it off until it's empty, and when can is empty immediately put on a new one.Get The Acetone gun cleaner. When changing cans, spray clean the basket connection of the gun before mounting new can. After each use, thoroughly clean the tip with the acetone cleaner and a piece of a cotton towel. ( nail polish remover works if you don't have the can of cleaner)If not using the gun, spray out 3 egg sized gobs every week ( and then clean the tip)Every time you use the gun, snug up the plastic fittings that hold the nozzle on and the can on. They can get loose and let air in.This sounds like a lot but it isn't hard to do at all. 5
