    Fluke is the Standard Have a few cheap multimeters laying around and they do the job most of the time, but when you're using this device, you never have to worry about accuracy or reliability. For any Electronic Tech looking for a great "home" DMM, the Fluke 175 will definitely Fill The Need without overtly emptying the wallet. While its' DC accuracy of 0.15% is less than the 177/179 meters from Fluke (0.09% DC accuracy), it's still MUCH BETTER than the (typical) 0.3-0.5% accuracy of "inexpensive" (i.e., <$100) DMMs found at Hardware and Automotive stores. Plus this meter is MADE IN THE USA (Everett, WA) and has a Fluke "Lifetime" warranty.Yes, this meter lacks the "niceties" of the 177/179 meters (backlight, temperature measurement), but it still does All The Other "basic" Measurements the 177/179 does, which is The Main Reason why I bought this meter to replace an old Radio Shack DMM. Plus, I'm VERY FAMILIAR with the Fluke "170 series" meters from using them at work. 5Five Stars Fluke is one of the Best MM, don't settle for less 5Good meter, solid, lots of features Everything it is expected to be. For the price, I expect them to come with way better test leads, but they are just adequate enough. I was also disappointed to find that this model didn't have a backlight, but that was my fault not reading far enough before I bought it. If you are a beginner or just need basics, this is too much meter for you. Fluke sells one for about half the cost that is simpler to operate as well. If you are just doing mostly basic testing, etc, this one is probably a waste of your money. I don't want to make it sound like this meter is OVERLY complicated, because it is not, but the cheaper Fluke is simpler and does the job very well. See Fluke model 117 for example 5
