Customer Reviews

Finally, a worthwhile cable It took 3 tries buying other brands of cables before I picked these ones but I think I finally got it right. Background: I bought a new house in December and the builder offered an option of a cable drop in the wall for routing your HDMI cables and such through. It turned out to be a fairly narrow tube (with ribs down it the whole way) and difficult to get the HDMI cables I already had through it. I tried getting ultra slim cables figuring it would be the best option but ended up with a lot of signal interruptions where the tv would cut out every time someone had a static shock in the house or if you turned on the gas fireplace that is below where the tv is mounted. Finally I ordered these cables which are the first ones I've found that aren't a super thick cable yet still provide adequate shielding against the interference. So far not a single cut out of the signal on any source. Well worth the extra couple of dollars over the cheaper ones. 5Flat & flexible = easy 180 turns to hide cord Good cord to try if the HDMI port is sticking straight out the side of your TV (why do they do that?!). I tried various 90-degree turn adapters, which worked ok, but tended to be poor in quality, sometimes have loose connections, and were not the biggest help. I also questioned if secondary connectors were reducing signal quality (I think yes). This cord is flat and (more importantly) highly FLEXIBLE. The flexible thing matters more than the flat for me, since it allows the cord to make a 180 degreee turn in a small amount of space. So my HDMI cord can do a "backflip" and bend back to the back side of my TV, without being able to see it from the front sticking straight out the left side of the TV. (I then duct tape the cord in place.). The cord isn't stressing the HDMI connection to the TV now (unlike if you tried to gently coax back a regular HDMI cord), and there are no secondary 90-degree connectors to mess up the signal.Only annoying thing is the giant plus ends...it works with my TV, but those ends are very large (and completely inflexible). It may be necessary for the cord to be made that way, but it would be so nice if the ends were smaller. Or flexible like Gumby. But I dream. ;-) 5Have LG OLED? Don t buy these. I wanted some flat HDMI cables for an in-wall installation of a new LG OLED55C7P unit and these seemed to fit the bill. Soon after I installed them, I noticed that the TV would drop the signal from my Apple TV 4K. Right before it dropped, I got a split second of multi-colored snow. Unplugging the HDMI cable seemed to fix it...for a little while.I tried a new Apple TV 4K and the same thing happened, so it likely wasn t that. Then I tried a new cable from SyncWire that also had the required specs. Issue persisted, so I bugged LG about it. They sent a tech who replaced the main board of the TV. It took less than a day for the issue to pop up again and my blood began to boil :)I begrudgingly went to Best Buy and paid $80 for an 8ft HDMI cable knowing I was being horribly gouged, but THAT cable worked. I asked about this on a forum online and folks there were adamant that Monoprice HDMI-certified cables were the way to go. At $10 each for a 10ft unit, I gave one a shot. After a week, the issue had not popped up and I very happily took the $80 cable back to Best Buy.It would seem that getting a cable with the right specs SHOULD be fine, but that s not been my experience. So, skip these flat pieces of garbage and just go with Monoprice HDMI-certified cables. Happy viewing!! 1Works, but just. TLDR;This cable fits neatly under the rug, and so far the quality of the signal is fine.Good price too. I would worry if this were a higher traffic area as it's still a bit of a high spot in the rug.I am using this cable in my home-office. In the current configuration, I have my desk in across the room from where I put the receiver (and where the speakers are). This is intended to give me a good sound stage from my two working positions (desk and sofa). My two choices were to run cables through the attic, or to cheat and run them under the rug. I tried first using a very thin optical cable, but getting the right encoding(s) to work was painful. The problem was, I couldn't get my receiver to use my sub (let along the other channels) because I couldn't get the computer to properly encode with DTS connect (or similar). After some fiddling (success with music, but losing the center in some games and movies), I decided to look elsewhere. Turns out HDMI handily solves this problem, I just connected the spare HDMI on my video card to the receiver, and everything works as expected. The problem now being that the cable is too thick to hide...This cable solved that problem, being _JUST_ thin enough to make it work. If it were a higher traffic area I would worry though. 410 Foot flat cable is no good for ATV 4K Dolby Vision Bought the 10' two-pack about 18 months back but didn't use them until this week. LG B7 OLED + Apple TV 4K + Ultra Clarity Flat HDMI Cable 10 feet. Result: fail. Detail: Apple TV 4K initial setup asks user if "Enable Dolby Vision" is desired... Select "Yes" and the ATV4K runs a video test. During that test, the screen goes black for about 10 seconds. If you see pixel flashes or other oddities, indicates the cable connection is insufficient for DV. Additionally, when the screen returns, the options are "OK" and "Cancel". If the cable is insufficient, the GUI is automatically frozen and the only option is Cancel (happens automatically with a 20 second timer, you have to just sit there and wait for it to count down). Indeed, this is exactly what happened in my setup. By the way, system reverts back to HDR10 60 Hz which works perfectly fine. I replaced the flat cable with a 10 foot SecurMax cable (another brand I had bought 18 months ago as a "just in case" option), and sure enough it worked perfectly for the DV test. Now I'm quite unhappy, as I didn't heed users' warnings here and ran the flat cables through the wall in the name of "they're more ergonomically friendly" to manage, especially for the B7 with its HDMI on the side. Now I have to pull those flat cables out and replace them. As a EE I have to admit I was quite skeptical of this outcome. I still am to some extent - my guess is that shorter lengths of this cable, perhaps 6' or 3', would work fine. My further guess is that the A4K HDMI output drive circuitry is probably marginal in terms of being finicky about cable impedance levels and/or ATV4K is having HDCP handshake issues. I say this because other reviewers have found that a cable doesn't work at all (like me), or may work for minutes or hours then suddenly fail, requiring a reboot. Issues have to lie with the ATV4K itself. 2Really wanted these to work I purchased 2-1.5 foot cables for use when mounting my Roku Premiere to the back of my 28 inch Samsung 4k monitor. The monitor has two HDMI ports, one @ 30Hz and the other @ 60Hz. When connected to my Roku on the 60Hz HDMI port I would get intermittent connection drops and occasional electronic snow. I did try connecting to the 30Hz port and that was worse, which I expected it might be. I am not sure why these two cables did not work, but these, which I already owned, worked perfectly, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GBBSP8Q/. I've coiled up the 10 footer and zip-tied it to the wall-mount and will continue my search for a shorty that will work. Hassle free return policy worked great. 1LG OLED65B6 with FiOS over store bought RocketFish 4K HDR cable (1 for $60) = horrible. Almost like when big screen HDTVs just got ... Long story short. Helping a friend with a new TV. LG OLED65B6 with FiOS over store bought RocketFish 4K HDR cable (1 for $60) = horrible. Almost like when big screen HDTVs just got introduced and we mostly had standard definition content. It truly was almost that bad. Replaced the cable with this (2 for $15), and the difference is stunning!!!!! The picture popped like it did when we saw the demo in the store! These cables may not cure world hunger, but they are definitely worth it when you want to make sure you have the best signal possible to a 4K TV with HDR!!!!!BTW: I am an electrical engineer, but I don't know why these are so much better! I don't care - they work. 5Amazing Cable, Amazing Price If you have a Sony 65XBR850C or above... Even a Samsung UN65JS8500 or higher or any TV really that can support 4K60 at 4:4:4, you'll realize why a cable like this is important. This ultra clarity HDMI features a very stiff and sturdy design. It will not tangle due to the flat design and provides a decent length (10ft) considering the speed (18gbps). It is easy to setup and provides a clean aesthetic to a nice home theater setup.I also use this cable to sync up my gaming computer (GTX 980ti w 4790k) to my Sony 65XBR850C, it solved all my issues when it came to my TV displaying proper resolutions at up to a DCI standard 4096x2160 or a wider 4K (3840x2160).Overall, you can't go wrong. It is inexpensive, provides amazing value and offers the same quality you'd expect from a high-end Monster HDMI. No need to spend up to 10x the cost. Get this cable and you'll be happy you did. 5Signal kept cutting out...on two different TV's, two different cables. BAD BUY! I first tried one of these cables going to a Samsung NU7100 55 inch TV from a ROKU ULTRA. It would playback whatever I wanted to stream, but it kept cutting out at intermittent intervals, and after about 5 times of the feed going out, I unplugged the cable, and put in a different one.....it worked fine. I thought...maybe this cable it bad....THEN, I tried the other flat white cable in the 2 cable package I bought thinking they BOTH couldn't be bad....so, I tried going from a ROKU ULTRA to a Samsung QLED Q6 TV.....even more issues. I changed out the cable and everything works great. Something about these cables are bad, at least streaming from a ROKU ULTRA to Samsung TV's, I would say Caveat Emptor!...seems like a gamble! It didn't work out so well for me. 1Really like how flexible the rubber coating is on these flat ... Was only looking for a cable that can handle 4k signal. Really like how flexible the rubber coating is on these flat cables. I had bought some braided type coated cables in the past and have realized they are way too stiff. These cables are premium quality, have only been using them for a couple of weeks but so far perform picture wise just as well as more expensive cables yet have an advantage with how flexible they are. The bonus part was my not reading carefully thinking it was only one cable then realized I was getting 2 once the confirmation came. NICE!!! Will buy again when needed. 5
