Customer Reviews

If this Kanguru comes your way, get a knife ...... Seems that the Kanguru is using old technology and the gimmick of a not well thought out switch location. Not a very good design for a write locking flash drive. The switch is too exposed and slides with very little effort. Pushing into a USB or even into your pocket will often move the switch to the unlocked position. The speed of this flash drive is very anemic for a USB3. I have some USB2 that are right on the heels of the Kanguru for speed. This Kanguru writes at 48MBs (at best) and my two Patriot XT 16gb USB2 write at very close to that. My Mushkin 64gb USB3 and Team X101 64gb USB3 blow the doors off of the Kanguru at 2 to 3 times it's speed, truly. 100MBs to 180MBs write speed is common for those sticks, I have 2 of each.I have 4 old Ridata sticks that are old and still function perfectly. But they are slow and lower storage capacity, 16gb. BUT they have a write lock switch that will NEVER get moved by accident. If they were to have a 64gb or 128gb available, even at their slow speed, I would have bought that instead. Why? Very simply because they are used for doing computer repair and their reliable write protect switch will not allow them to get infected.I took a cue from the Ridata sticks and took a modelers Xacto knife to the switch on the Kanguru. I cut it flush to the body and it is till available to my finger. I would prefer being forced to use a small paper clip or toothpick to move the switch. That would diminish impulses and accidental unlocks. The other factor in this is that the Kanguru is NOT a bargain priced item. Tolerable but not desirable.EDIT: WOW, shortly after my last comment they raised the price by $27.58 (at time of this comment it is $93.65). There is no way that I feel lucky for having paid $66.07. I just see Dumb getting Dumber. I wish I could take away the last star or better run it into a negative for their insultingly expensive c-r-a-p.People vote for their political choices BUT Jeff Bezos money BUYS POLITICS and that steals political choices from WE THE PEOPLE .People are supposed to be the higher value, MORE THAN HIS EFFN MONEY. 1Good usb It's pretty good and it's the fastest USB3 USB I had but it does get warm when used. Write protect work well as well 5As Advertised. I like it. Love the no rewrite switch. 5Four Stars worked well yet a bit expensive... 4Five Stars I love it! 5Throw all your other flash drives away! Now the only flash drive I use - best for security! 5Best defense The best protection for working on infected computers. Software can't override a physical switch. 5
