Customer Reviews

So far it's working great. I just have to get used to the ...I read the booklet, and proceeded per directions. My S2 8.0 did connect, but the blue light continued to blink, and nothing showed on the screen when I tried to type. I went into my tablet settings to connections, clicked on Bluetooth, and the Fintie was listed. I clicked on Fintie, and voila! Connected and ready to go! So far it's working great. I just have to get used to the smaller keyboard, but when I do, I think it will be easier than working on the tablet keypad. The case looks very nice in appearance, and fits the S2 8.0 perfectly. It folds up nicely when the keyboard is included. The keyboard stays put due to the magnetic base in the case. Should you need to detach the tablet, lift up on the left edge first where the "clamps" are a bit smaller than clamps on the right. Then lift the left edge of the tablet gently and pull a little to the left. The tablet will lift right out. To reinsert the tablet, push the tablet into the clamps on the right first, then snap down the left side. Btw, the tablet will stand up without the keyboard to hold it in place. It just might not be quite as secure. Great purchase!5Surprisingly great product that's inexpensiveThis is a surprisingly great product for the price. Being that it was made especially for the Tab S2 perhaps this explains it. The Bluetooth connection worked perfectly the first time I tried to establish contact and it is simple to set up. I am a touch typist who can type 60 words a minute. That's not my profession but I write books and screenplays, in part, to earn my living so I like a keyboard to use and not just the keyboards on a screen. This one--despite it's compact size--works great and feels very similar to an ordinary freestanding keyboard. The leather case is great for travel too and the S2 snaps perfectly into place and stays there. Now I'm debating if I take my S2, with the Fintie, on trips or my Surface. If I do heavy duty writing when away, I'll probably take the Surface. For just e-mail and similar uses, I'll definitely take the S2 with the Fintie keyboard/case. Would very definitely recommend to others.5Great deal, excellent product, one minor design flaw. This is the slickest keyboard / case for the Tab S2 out there, considering the reasonable price (who wants to pay $80 - $100 after dropping the coin on the tablet itself?). The only downside of this product is that it doesn't have a 'kick stand' on the back of the case, so in order to prop up the tablet (as depicted in the photo on the product page), you have to manually slide the keyboard down the sleeve (fighting the magnetic field) or lift it off completely, to reposition it at the bottom of the inner sleeve (rather than just leaving the keyboard in place, where it must sit in order to properly close the case. To prop up the tablet, you use the lip of the keyboard to stop the it from sliding. It's not a huge deal, and I realize adding a kickstand would a) add weight and b) break the contiguity of the otherwise sleek design, but I am surprised there isn't a simpler, more robust solution to this issue, because anyone using the keyboard won't have an extra hand to hold the tablet while doing so, and this requires some sort of way to prop it up.5Magnets Ruined LCD Connection I really loved this cover and I used it all of the time. I thought the magnet cover was perfect. However, a few months into using the cover, I started having issues with my tablet. The screen intermittently would not come on, and would occasionally black out during use. This issue occurred both when using the case and without (I tried it both ways to isolate the issue after exclusively using the case).I shipped in my device for repair. It turned out that the cover had moved the LCD cable due to the magnets in the cover. Samsung cautioned not to fold the magnetic cover behind the device. I hadn't mentioned that I was using a magnetic cover, but in the repair, they noted that this can be caused by magnetic cases moving the LCD cable. Luckily enough for me, my device was in warranty, so the repair wasn't costly, but I know that not everyone will have that luxury. As a result, I decided to write my first review and give a heads up to those considering this product. 1Sweet, sweet little unit! This little keyboard & case is da bomb! All fit together with my Galaxy S2 8.0 tablet perfectly. The keybord works great, and I enjoy being able to use my little tablet like a laptop. SO much easier for posting comments, sending emails, and writing product reviews like this. I am very happy with the quality of construction, fit and finish and it has a definite cool factor, also. If you're a competent thumb typist, you don't need this and it adds bulk to the otherwise svelte S2. But if your roots are in touch typing, you gotta get one!5This has been a great addition to my Galaxy Samsung S2 ( 32GBThis has been a great addition to my Galaxy Samsung S2 ( 32GB, octacore) tablet!. Light weight keyboard and very durable case. The keyboard connects through Bluetooth. I've not had any problems with it. You can charge the keyboard with the Samsung charger. I do have to access the Tablet dropdown to confirm Bluetooth connection to keyboard when I use it. For those who always have Bluetooth "on", I'm guessing you won't have to do that. Some of the key choices are accessible through the 'alt' function. Note: If you have very large hands, you probably will stick with the tablet keys vs a keyboard. (I'm petite, and have no problem with small keys.) The tablet, case and keyboard are great for travel. No problems encountered.5Excellent purchase for the priceExcellent purchase for the price. I have a Tab S2 8.0, and I use the official Samsung case, which fits like a glove and is perfect. So I don't want to use this case full-time, rather when I have a ton of Emails to handle. So I will carry the keyboard in its case, and when I need it, open up the keyboard case and put the Tab S2 on top of the back. Perfect. The keyboard connected immediately. It is nice, good function keys, responsive. The keyboard itself is very light, but the magnets on the base of the case hold it (very) firm for typing. The case itself is good. Not as nice as the Sammy case, but very nice for a 3rd party case.My only wish is that the keyboard was backlit. It is not.5Not very sturdy. This is the third Finite case (of four) I have purchased.I had 2 for an Ellipsis tablet and another one of these without the keyboard for the Tab S2.Only one of them, one for the Ellipsis which is no longer available, lasted any length of time.Yes, they are very good looking, but the printing does wear off over time. The plastic used to lock the tablet in place begins to wear out over time and starts to fracture. The keyboard is fine but blocks the sleep mode.I have given up ordering Finite cases and am looking for something that will last. 2Product missing parts and had been opened. Not "new" as advertised. I ordered this product new. When it arrived it was obvious the package had been opened and taped back closed, poorly. The user manual was not with the product, and neither was the charging cable. I finally decided to just use it; hopefully it will work fine. I'm sure I can find a user manual online, if I need it, and I have extra USB charging cables. Somewhat dissatisfied even without using the case/keyboard.It looks sturdy; hopefully it functions ok. But I'm not impressed. I wouldn't mind if I had paid for a used unit, but I didn't.UPDATE: Now that I've decided to use this, I charged it, and discovered the top row of keys do NOT work. I will be trying to return this unit. 3Good qualityThe keyboard for a 8" tablet is very small. Quite difficult to type and need time to get used to. The keyboard is magnetically attach to the case and can be removed or adjusted to suit individual preference.Overall, the case and keyboard work as it is designed to.5Very satisfied with this oproductI just received this tablet case, and I really liked it. It is just as shown on the pictures, and the keyboard worked very well with my Galaxy S2 tablet. The design is very well thought, and both the case and keyboard have a very good finish.I didn't have any problems to install the keyboard, just turned it on, turned on the tablet bluetooth and connect.5Stylish case with a great little keyboard. Adds a lot of functionality to your tablet.I've been using this case for about a month now and I'm very pleased with it. Looks very nice and has a good feel to it, just a touch soft and grippy, but tough enough that I think it's going to be durable. The keyboard is small and will take a little getting used to, especially since a few of the keys use combinations or are located in atypical places. The compromise of having a compact keyboard. That said, it's a very complete keyboard and very usable; you will get accustomed to it pretty quickly. My biggest gripe is that I can't fold the keyboard and back cover around the back side when I'm using just the tablet - the keyboard is magnetic and apparently strong enough to put my tablet to sleep every time I fold it around. Fortunately, this is easily solved by either detaching the keyboard and setting it aside or by popping the tablet out of the restraints. And, this latter is something I also like about the case and wanted to point out. The case is not overly bulky or heavy, but sometimes you can't beat the thinness and lightness of just the tablet itself (for instance, while reading in bed). While the restraints hold your tablet quite securely, it's also a simple exercise to exert a little pressure/twist to the two inside corners - one at a time - to temporarily remove the tablet. Battery charge on the keyboard seems to last a long time, too. I was initially worried that it would be yet another gadget that I was constantly needing to remember to charge, but charging looks like it's going to be needed only occasionally.5It's "ok", but has a major design flaw. It's "ok". The keyboard layout is not ideal. While I can type rather quickly, I often hit the wrong key because it's either in a weird spot or I have to use the function key to make a certain character. Adding an apostrophe or a quotation mark is an annoying cogwheel process. The Caps Lock ("CAPS") indicator does not work. They'd have been better off not having the indicator at all because it just makes you feel like it's broken. The major reason for the 2 stars is a serious design flaw: When you flip the case cover around to the back, the magnets polarize the metal backing plate on the keyboard which end up transmitting through the tablet and turns off the display because it "thinks" the cover is closed. The only way around this is to actually remove the keyboard from the case every time you want to fold the front flap towards the back. In my opinion, this completely defeats the purpose and convenience of this case. You'd be better off buying this case without a keyboard. It's quite apparent that the company that made this product did not do adequate R&D or quality control testing before pushing this product into mass production.Verdict:-Nice construction-Compact design-Arduous key placement/design-Design flaw that turns the tablet off when the cover is flipped back which drastically reduces its usabilityIt gets a "C-" in by book 2Description is Exact ... I got what I was Expecting ... Nice keyboard and case.I was using a different keyboard case for the last 2 years. I spilt coffee on it and although I dried it out in rice (or tried to) I found I needed a new keyboard. The one I had, is no longer available so I tried this one. Connecting via Blue Tooth was easy, I love the laptop style keys and springboard action. In fact, I found that the description of this item was perfect and I love that it is a slim line design as I keep my S2 in my purse. This one fits quite nicely. The one flaw (really only an inconvenience) When you open the case, the keyboard must be tugged away from the case (the magnets are strong - a good thing) and resituate it to the edge of the cover... and then when you are finished; to close it, you must detach again and move it back to its original place so the cover can be properly closed. My last case opened up, flipped the stand back and I never had to move the keyboard. Just something I think I will have to get used to but not enough of an inconvenience to ding the product a star.UPDATE -- I started having an issue with the keyboard and was going to return it. As I typed, the cursor would jump backward and continue in another place making my sentences sound rediculous. I started the return process with Amazon and had excellent customer service. I really like this product so I wrote the Fintie Customer Service an email and received a reply about 1.5 hours later. They suggested that I check the settings on my S2 and turn off the auto complete. They also gave me a number to call if the suggested fix didn't work. It worked and I am one happy customer. I no longer had a need to return it to Amazon. Great Customer Service all around. Thank you Amazon, Thank you Fintie!!5Keyboard registers false key double key-presses when in use, among other issues This keyboard was the first bluetooth keyboard I ever purchased for an Android tablet (bought here on Amazon). At first I was pleased with it, but with a year's worth of use I'd like to point out a few issues that buyers should beware of:1. This is my biggest complaint, and is the reason I would steer clear of this product - the keyboard often registers double keypresses while you're trying to type a comment or a message, even though you are correctly typing the keys with single presses. So you gget messagges that look liike this andd you endd up sppending more time editting thhan you actuually typping. Seriously, it's about every other or every third word that registers as a double-press. It's tolerable if entering a short search string on Google, but it's VERY frustrating if you are trying to author a message several sentences or paragraphs long because the constant in-line correction of the typos caused by this keyboard breaks your concentration.2. Every few days bluetooth connectivity would be lost to the tablet, requiring a re-pairing.3. The top portion of the keyboard above the keys will abrade the screen of your tablet over time. If you carry this device in a pocket or satchel, any crumbs / sand / "bits" that get sandwiched between the keyboard and the screen will rub and scratch its surface.4. The screws that hold the plastic backing on the back of the keyboard are tiny and have a tendency to fall out because the threads are so tiny; over time the screws fell out and were lost so I relied on a piece of tape to hold the back in place. This was an inexpensive keyboard that seemed promising, but because of the double-key misrecognition it was useless for typing whole messages. A year later, I've quit using this device and I'm looking for something more reliable. 1
