    Great speedo, bad instructions.The quality of this gps speedo is impressive. I give it 4 stars because the instructions are misleading. The manual says that upon power up, the dial will move from 0 to 60 and back to 5mph until satellites have been acquired. Well I installed and power it up. There is a humming (sounds like stepper motor is stuck) for 4 seconds, then nothing. So I thought it was broken as it did not behave like the instructions. I called the Faria tech support and that said it sounds like it is broken. I then call Faria to return the item and got in touch with another support person who said, "let it sit powered up for 5 minutes to see if it Acquires the satellite. So I powered it up, humming for 4 seconds, nothing for 10 seconds, and then the dial swept from 0 to 60 and back to 5mph. After a few seconds dropped to 0. Works perfectly. The instructions should be updated so the user is not scared when they hear a buzzing sound on power up. Thats why I give it 4 stars. 4True speedWorks great, no more broken vacuum lines, plugged lower unit, true speed up or down river and I don't have to be going 30MPH to get a reading. Had put an auto gps version in a Modded 48 ford convertible and found no more figuring what the speed was every time I changed gears or tires. Then spotted this for the boat, great price compared to what the auto versions cost. 5Excellent ProductThis is an excellent product. I have purchased four of theses in two years and they all work fine. Support is great. 5Simple,works great.This is a good accurate product ,easy install ,internal antenna, looks and works great. 5Quality, pure quality.Faria makes good stuff, nuff said. 5GPS speedometer not working.The gauge never work work for me in my boat. installed it in my mastercraft and it didn't work. I sent it in for repair and they sent it back broken. I sent it in again and they sent me a new one. I tried it in my car by hooking it up to a portable battery and it work. So I put it in my boat. It didn't work again. The needle would swing from 0 to 60 and back to 0 and would not go to 5 like the instruction said. 1Not returnable. Wrong size advertised, read refund policy before you buy.Not a 5 inch gauge. Not able return 1Very pleasedReplaced Faria pressure speedometer that was not working. Fit like a glove. Works as expected. Would be nice to include a plug for old water tube. Have not located built in pickup in lower unit yet. 5Five StarsWorks as advertised. 5Five Starsnice 5
