    These things are an overpriced kid's toy..Woowwwww! These were over priced! I don't know what I was thinking. I bought these for my dad for Christmas and when it came.. I was like.. this is a kids toy. For all that money, you can probably find an authentic device on ebay. The thing came with no directions... and the goggle buttons to change colors and do other things is legitimately a JOKE.Don't buy it at this astronomical price. Go to walmart if you want a kid's pair and pay $20. Or like I said.. head to ebay. 1Amazing toy!This nice toy emits 940-nm light and detects it. In far sight mode a 840-nm light is used and can see as far as 15 meters. The detector cannot detect light with wavelength longer than 1.55 m (1550 nm). Therefore this toy is equivalent to a flashlight plus a camera where the light used is invisible (human eye can only see light from 400 to 800 nm). The drawback is, since it's like a flash light (and poorly collimated), the light really cannot go far before it faint to complete darkness. Some other night vision goggle (more expensive) focuses the light such that the viewing distance is further than 50 meters.Overall I would say this is definitely an amazing toy. 4Well worth $50I picked this up on sale from Amazon for around $50 as a Christmas present for my 14 year-old son. He really seems to think it's cool to have functioning night vision equipment, and I tend to agree. Tailor your expectations to the fact that in the end, this is designed as a toy,and you won't be disappointed. As a toy, it is pretty impressive. It indeed provides night vision, but the range is pretty short. It seems well constructed and runs on AA batteries. Once the initial novelty of "hey, I can see at night" wears off, what use or how much fun they can offer will be up to your individual child, and maybe where you live. If we lived in a more rural area, I could really see these providing hours of nighttime exploring. We, on the other hand, live in an urban area and my kid simply isn't out wandering around that much at night. But, the bottom line is these do function as advertised. On a side note, I also wanted to get these to have an inexpensive form of night vision equipment in the house for disaster preparedness. (earthquakes, blackouts, etc.) At $50, this item fits works well as a toy and inexpensive night vision for use in a pinch. 4night goggles add some funMy 12 year old received this item as a gift. It is a toy and not real night vision goggles. that stated, they work pretty well and he has been having lots of fun with it. He can see fairly far at night while using them and is able to easily use the knobs to switch settings. Probably appropriate for 9 and up - would have bought it earlier for him if I had known the product existed. He is happy with it, even though kids younger than him have them too. My husband was very skeptical about them, given the price and expectation around night vision binoculars; he was pleasantly surprised at how well they work. 4A hitMy grandson had been playing like he had a night vision scope, so this was a natural selection.I first purchased a similar scope and tried it out. It was poorly made, so I returned it.Then I saw this on Amazon and ordered it. When I received it, I tried it to make sure it worked. It did and was easy to operate.It isn't perfect, but for the price it was just what he wanted.He constantly uses it so I am very pleased with the product and with the vendor who sent it in good time for Christmas.I would recommend this toy and vendor.As an educational toy, it gives the user a chance to see things in the dark they would not have without it.Its like opening a new world to the user 5Cool! ...but distance isn't that farPretty cool! It is FABULOUS for a kid / young teenage, or if you want simple night vision glasses that don't see all that far, 50 feet, and don't want to spend much money. If you are only going to be using them inside a house, not looking beyond your small yard, or to see what's just beyond the campfire, then these are enough. So I'm investing the money on a slightly better pair of real Gen 1 night vision goggles, about $200-300 more 3Fun for kids and adultsWe bought these because my 10 yr old daughter is on a spy kick and we thought she'd have fun with them. Turns out she's having to wrestle them away from the family adults because we enjoy them so much too! They are not long range enough to see things like stars (which we were hoping) but they are great for playing in the house and yard in the dark. You can see objects in near pitch blackness, and the stealth mode lends itself to lots of startle play, as anyone without the Binos cannot see you coming. We think these are exactly as advertised, they arrived quickly, and the price was reasonable for the fun and use we're getting. Highly recommended! 5Technology At A Bargain!This device works amazingly well. A few years ago, my wife purchased an expensive night vision monocular for use at night on our sailboat. I didn't think it worked that well so we returned it. The EyeClops really does the job and fits right into use at the "detective agency" that my 7-year-old grandson and I pretend to operate. We bought one of these as a Christmas present for my grandson and I jokingly made the comment that I would like to have one. Sure enough I received one for Christmas too. I'm thinking it might come in handy some moonless night to explore strange noises in the back yard! Recommended! 5AWESOME NIGHT VISION I LIKE ITI just got this night vision today and the shipping is fast too. I gave 5 stars rating on this night vision. I bought some binocular night vision worth $[...] on sale and retail price is $[...]. And im not satisfied on that nite vision and it makes me dizzy its expensive too not worth it. I saw this in amazon and went to youtube to watch some clips about the review and i was satisfied. So i order it.. when i tried today OMG!!! ITS FREAKIN AWESOME. Im an adult 34 years of age and looking for a decent cheap night vision for my airsoft this Halloween Hunt. I was so amazed when i put the battery it runs 5 AA batteries. Its so clear even in total darkness... The construction of the body is made all plastic so be carefull to carry it. Theres a strap and manual included. So for kids and adults out there looking for a nice decent cheap nite vision this one is fits to your needs. No need to buy some expensive night vision. Im satisfied what ive seen on this night vision. Im a very picky guy when it comes to my gadgets. THIS ONE IS A HIGHLY RECOMMENDED NIGHT VISION TOY. Thanks 5Fun for hide and seek at night!I bought these for my boys (5th grade and kindergarten) last Christmas and wasn't really sure what to expect. Holy cow! These were a huge hit! I could not believe how well they worked for the price! They ended using them to play hide and seek in the dark house at night - the seeker getting to use them. I can't even tell you how many hours of entertainment they have provided. Our pair are still working well one year later, but I wouldn't exactly say that they're real durable, but not the most fragile things either. We've taught our boys that these are fragile and that if they want to keep them they have to take care of them. They've been pretty good about it, but I know they've been dropped once or twice and they haven't broken.So one year after purchasing these they still work well and they're still fun. I'd highly recommend them! 5
