    i dabble in metalsmithing/jewelry at home and this torch makes ... i dabble in metalsmithing/jewelry at home and this torch makes soldering easier for me. i had a microtorch that just would not heat things enough for solder to flow 5I LOVE this torch I LOVE this torch. I have a BFA in jewelry/metals and can do things with this torch that I thought I would only be able to do with a full sized acetylene torch. It has a great adjustable frame that gets hot enough to solder fairly large pieces, is easy to fill with butane, and is an excellent size and design. 5great tool the best thing about this tool is that you can pretty much operate it one handed which is really handy. use the best fuel you can find, the cheap stuff used for lighters will eventually clog it 5The electronic ignition doesn't work good. Sometimes it works The electronic ignition doesn't work good. Sometimes it works, others I have to use a lighter. It can be a pain in the neck when you have a lot of work to do. I got it to replace one that I had for to three years and stop working. I don't know if this one was defective, but don't recommend it. 2Terribly disappointed. I have used it for light jewelry ... Terribly disappointed. I have used it for light jewelry fabricating, on jobs where my mini blazer would not cut it. Purchased in January, now two months later, it is completely dead in the water. 1Poor quality. First it isn't well made. The buttons are very stiff except for the slider that controls the size of the flame, that one is very loose, which is a problem because you can't control the flam very well. I have a Blazer that I wanted to replace because it won't fill full but it's still better than this new one. 2Nice for hobbyist. Nice little butane torch for the price. More powerful than my micro-torch yet easy to use. Bought it for soldering and to use on Prometheus clay. I can't be trusted with an acetylene torch!! This jumbo torch is perfect. 5Doesn't light well It's a pain to get it to light. The majority of the time I use a lighter to light it because it's mechanism is faulty, but I'd already filled it with butane, and the cost of a lighter was cheaper than returning it. Other than that, it's great. 3Great Jeweler's Tool Working great! Able to do small jewelry soldering projects. Bezels, pin backs and annealing small items are things I have been doing right away. Too bad there isn't a repair kit or instructions of how to replace the copper ignition wire. Couldn't find anything on YouTube that matched what I see, a bad ignition wire. Took off the silver spout cover and now can't get the wire to feed back in place. Tried lighting with a match and that doesn't work. It appears that only air is coming out. Anyone have any ideas? 1
