Proper fit may be the difference in results!I had the 3XL first which seemed like it supported better but was bulky like it was too big, so I exchanged for the 2XL. The product looks very well made and of good quality. Fit comfortably but the 2XL did not seem to give as much support as I needed. This could a sizing issue but there is no size chart to gauge the proper fit. Unfortunately the Vel-Cro on one of the support straps stopped staying secure as well. Could have been just a one off issue. I would recommend giving it a try and judge for yourself. 3Excellent support beltI work overnight in a supermarket, and do a ton of heavy lifting. If you have ever done that sort of work then you know what I'm talking about. I was using the one supplied by the store and they are alright as far as a back brace goes but they tend to fall apart after awhile not to mention they never had my size. So I shopped around and ended up trying 3 different braces. The first was so uncomfortable and didn't help at all with supporting my back, and the second one literally fell apart in a week. I saw this one and thought I would give it a shot.The brace is very well made, very durable. I can see this lasting for some time. I would have liked if the straps were not detachable, but they haven't fallen off yet so it's not really an issue. The only thing I did not like about this belt is it's "sticky fingers". Along each support "bar" (don't know what else to call it) there is the words "sticky fingers" that stick out. When I wore the belt it would rub along my back making it very uncomfortable. So I took a straight razor blade to the letters and shaved them off. Since then the belt has given me no discomfort at all. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs the support and wants something that will last. 5Very Happy. 36" waist, Large size works, XL would be better.I needed to replace an old back support brace I had for years and found this one. After reading several reviews i decided to purchase this one. Very happy I did, feels great! Reall supports my back. I took off the straps so I can use it under my shirt at work. I'm a 36" waist so I purchased the Large size. Just the right size. The XL would be a perfect size but im still happy with the Large. 5Perfect for back surgery recovery or lifting heavier weights.For back surgery recovery, not just for weight lifters and movers. I was told to use this type of belt a few weeks after back surgery, when all I could do for exercise was move around with a walker and walk a few houses down the block. I wore it all the time in the house as well, because having it on reminded me not to twist or bend, and it relieved the general pain I was feeling for the first month. It should be on the list of equipment to use after any back surgeries, and though I was fitted with a very hard support belt, this one worked much better. 5Back support all dayI wear the brace without the straps. I would, however, recommend NOT wearing it against your skin as it has 6 plastic stays with rough bumps on each. The stays help hold the belt in place over clothes as thin as a tee shirt with no discomfort.I have difficulty standing more than 5 minutes these days without having to sit for a minute or 2, which makes shopping, doing housework, walking around the yard, etc time consuming. With this brace I can go anywhere and do most things. I also bought a rolling walker with flip seat and hand brakes so now I no longer have to use those electric shopping carts you sit on. The brace allows me to walk longer and the walker lets me sit a minute or two. Now I have my life back again. 5I can't live without it !!!Was very happy to find this belt on Amazon. My last Proflex belt finally wore out after using it for well over 10 years, closer to 15 years. I'm 50 and have been doing commercial HVAC service for 28 years. I have arthritis and joint deterioration in my lower back . If I wear this belt when I lift heavy weight, no back pain, if I lift without this belt severe pain can put me on my back for days. I do not use the suspenders. I also use when riding dirt bikes. I take it everywhere I go even on vacation. 5Very comfortable and supportive!Just worn for the first time. Found it very comfortable and supportive. Not as rigid as a weight lifting belt but good for lighter "heavy" lifts. I wouldn't use these for lifting free weights!I like the suspenders which keep them handy when not in use between lifts which is a good thing for a retail or warehouse environment. I use them for working around our rental lodge and property. Not sure about longevity, will post after some usage. 4Brace Yourself!Hubby works in construction. Says to me "Hey honey, go on Amazon and buy me a newSupport Brace for my back, please". His wish is my command and Amazon helped mecomplete the order in two days with Prime. Yay.The brace is very well made, sturdy with Velcro closing with extra adjustable Velcro flapsthat cover the underlying brace. Very helpful in getting the correct fit.It is very neat looking and fits well under clothing, hardly detectable, if you need it to be.It also comes with adjustable suspenders that can also be removed if desired.My husband said it was perfect, very good fit, helped with pain in back and supportive.My husband has a 36' waist and we ordered the L and it fit great.Highly recommend. Good price too. 5A heavy-duty back support at a very nice price!This is the best back support belt I've ever used so far.... I have two others that were supplied by past employers... but, they weren't nearly as nice as this belt. The construction on this belt is noticeably more heavy-duty. The shoulder straps are wider and thicker than the ones on most other belts. The belt is very comfortable, while being very stiff and supportive of the lower back. The shoulder straps are very easy to adjust and the support level can be adjusted by pulling or loosening the outer side support straps around the waist. There are also rubber gripping bars located on the back/inner side of the belt to keep it in place more securely. This is a high quality belt made of high quality materials. 5This is good beltMost people at certain point of their lives will develop back problem, from the mild to serious injuries. This belt is sturdy enough to support your lower back. After injury I wore this belt with sock filled with sand, placed somewhere above the tail bone for stability and it helped a lot. I'm ordering this belt second time b/c Velcro wore off after frequent use. Those who have back problem b/c of lifting at work or being obese is no way around the problem except to loose the weight, proper mechanics when you lift and the most important strengthening gradually the core muscles. The things I have learned about the lower back problems are frustrating b/c it is very difficult to make proper diagnosis and Doctors most of the time are guessing and they are not helpful for you as patient. That's why the best medicine for lower back problems is exercising core muscle everyday. I disagree with one of the reviewers that you need to order one or two notches higher size for good fit. I have 41" waist. Originally, I have ordered X-Large, XX-Large not knowing what to expect. I send it back XX-Large and ordered Large size which fits me perfectly. Sometimes, I'd put double belt X-Large over Large size for firmer hold, that's why I didn't send X-Large back. 5
