Customer Reviews

"Ball Valve"Warms up fast in freezing weather! Comfortable even for the larger fellas. Attaches to a 5 gallon bucket very well. BEWARE, if you are a larger fella your body will create a seal, when gas is expelled from your backside it will travel to the path of least resistance. Typically the path of least resistance is your "ball valve" in the front.Great product, held up for a week with heavy use from a group of 8 bigger guys. 5Does not necessarily fit buckets bought at Walmart. The description said it snaps onto any 5 gallon bucket. The bucket I planned to use it with is just an ordinary 5 gallon bucket I bought from Walmart. It doesn't fit. It's too small. But what I did was use pliers to bend the edges of the bucket top inward and now it fits great. But, for the money, I shouldn't have had to do anything extra to make fit. Also, I use ordinary trash bags with a little CampaChem to control odors. I'm a female trucker and this comes in handy at night or when there is no bathroom available. 4Makes a great spare toilet when you just have to have one!I live in a 3 bedroom house with a couple of roommates (all guys) and we have ONE BATH. Drives me nuts! so I got this thing and its been amazing. It's also good for camping when you have no bathroom or the bathrooms are disgusting or busy. (I take a package of toilet covers with me I got off amazon for the toilets even if they don't look bad. Sometimes even lysol the toilets or use hand sanitizer and a glove. Lol)But really this is amazing! Get a 5 gallon bucket and go to somewhere like dollar tree and get some cheap bags. I always set the bag in the bucket and put the tp and spare bags in there and close it. Take them out when go to use it and afterwards tie the bag off and dispose of and set it up again. Truly amazing to have! For smell reasons you could get really thick bags.. My roommates whine about the smell it creates in the trash can even though they use this thing too.. Lol.Definitely use trash bags with this though... 5Humanure Bucket SystemThis is perfect for my current needs. I gave it four stars because the hinge could be better designed. Each time I open it I have to make sure to center the lid so that it opens fully. It's not that big of an inconvenience and I feel given the low cost, I can't complain. I'm using this as an alternative to flushing perfectly good water down the toilet. I alternate two buckets so one can air out in the sunshine after washing it, while I fill the other. I use free sawdust from a mill as cover in the bucket. It honestly doesn't smell after I cover it with the sawdust so I'm able to keep the bucket inside in the bathroom. I have a compost heap in the yard I add the contents to along with all my kitchen scraps and other compostable items. I dig it all into the center of the heap and cover it well with a lot of straw. The heap doesn't smell bad at all (shocking but true). I haven't had any unwanted critters or flies either. This will all compost and after aging for a year in a thermophilic pile (two years in a cooler pile), it can be spread to nourish the soil. I find it to be a great way to feed the soil and avoid flushing precious water down the pipes. There are more expensive ways to accomplish the same but I'm happy with this system and the price was right. If any of that got you curious there's some great books & websites out there to help you along. 4This thing is amazingI bought this after cycle Cruiser on YouTube recommended it. We love this thing. We have a couple of them. And of course we have our Home Depot bucket. It's amazing. Plop it on a bucket have your little trash bags in there with a little bit of cat litter on the side when you're done put a couple piece of cat litter in their clothes lead and no smell. No Mass. I'm a big girl. And I sit on this thing very comfortably. It will support weight up to 320 lb. At least that's the max we've tried it so far. We have one in our van when we go on trips and do stealth camping. We have one in our camper. And one in our 4 X4 so when we hit the beach. Okay enjoy I hope this helps 5Great Camping/Homestead luggable looWe setup a camping toilet this summer in our tent. No more late night trips stumbling thru other's campsites to find the bath house. We we got home it was set up on the homestead for the women to use while out working. It is a great convenience and top notch product. The lid snaps closed to prevent spills & odor. We use kitty litter inside a kitchen trash bag. Makes clean up easy. 5It's OK.I don't know what kind of bucket this seat is supposed to fit, but it does not fit your standard bucket (which is annoying) I thought I could purchase this seat and expect it to fit your average 5 gallon bucket (my husband does construction work and we have PLENTY of buckets), it doesn't. I have tried every bucket that he has available and it doesn't fit a single one.We typically camp out in the wilderness away from the luxuries of home. I got tired of trying to find a bush and lugging around the large seat/bucket combo that I made from a kiddie toilet seat from IKEA, so I broke down and purchased this seat - it was reasonably priced I'll give it that.It does snap halfway on the bucket, but not completely. I can make it work. I weigh 140 lbs and this seat does hold me up without a problem. I'm just aggravated that it doesn't seem to fit properly. 3Go with it.Speaking for the quality of this item, and as it fit on a seven-gallon bucket (complete overkill for the odor it will cause when it's full...), five stars. Yep.A sadistic suggestion that one should relate ANY amount of defecation to honey, I must disagree with the manufacturer's description and title. I gotta knock a star off, maybe more as I pinch my nose and put on a gas mask. Yet, in a reality's sense for it's function and form of intended purpose, top notch in a pinch or 'bind of constipation' that it could be used for.I mean, in the BM (Bernie M.) sense: If America has come to the point of using make-shift portable potties, sumpthin' might be wrong. Oh, we flouted the pot to wiz in as a type of richness for the poor in the past, but this could be taking the paradigm a bit too far!I decree a REAL toilet in every pot. And if the chickens can't stand the heat.......Then go camping with this item and you probably won't be dissatisfied. 4For emergency use only, weight limit low, not easy-clean.I recieved this and was excited to add this to my camping supplies. I tried it on a regular 5 gallon bucket from Lowe's and it snapped on nice and tight. The handle on the bucket made it easy to carry. This is just a seat to make it a wee bit more comfortable than sitting on the rim of the bucket. But this seat is not all that comfy. Think of it for emergency use only. I can tolerate it. But folks should know that the actual part you will be sitting on is about a 2" (two inch) circle of plastic. Your comfy house toilets are about 3 to 4 inches wide. When looking at a picture of the seat online, I imagined my toilet own seat in a black color. When it arrived it was smaller and thinner than I expected. Take a good look at the picture and imagine the width of the ring that you sit on is only 2 inches wide. This is made of a thin black plastic. I am a female and I weigh in at a 130 pounds. I am small and my son is smaller than me. I can totally see me cracking this seat after a few uses. I would be wary of letting a 180 pound man think of using this. Bring along a roll of duct tape just in case.Meanwhile, it did fit well on the 5 gallon Lowe's bucket, but it snapped on tight and is difficult to get off. That said, it means it would be hard to clean the bucket, getting under the rim and all. So then, we will now need to buy bags that we can go potty in and remove without leaking. Prior to this we were saving our Walmart bags for waste removal, and we didnt care that they leak. Now we would care. So, if you get this seat, plan on buying the white kitchen garbage bags that dont leak. You can pack a box of them inside the bucket with some TP rolls. When you use the toilet, you need to have the bag open in the bucket with edges up on top of the seat. As you camp, you just tie off the bag if someone made a #2 to keep the scent from ruining the day. The lid on the seat doesn't do anything really. It just rests there for looks. We have a seperate cheap tent that we can use for this bucket restroom at our camp.I needed this so my son can go potty at camp and I won't have to walk him to a public bathroom each time. It also was a plan to keep it with our Hurricane suppies at home, as our septic tank overflows during any heavy rain storms. If we cant flush our home toilets for a few days, we can use the bucket and tie off the bags with each use.I can't say I am thrilled about the quality of this seat, but I am keeping it as we cant get anything better for $11. Prior to this we had always used a child's potty that we got at IKEA that was small, easy to pack and everyone could use it without breaking it. It was just a challenge to squat on. The small one piece plastic potty was used with walmart bags(they leak a little) and we could wipe or rinse out the seat after each person used it. If I were planning a bug out kit, I'd rather have a real bedpan or a childs potty seat than a 5 gallon bucket with a thin plastic seat. I don't think I would tell all my friends to go get the bucket seat, but it is not so terrible that I'd return it.I hope by describing it that other folks would be prepared for what they are really getting. 3So far, so good!So far good! Per advice of so many reviewers, I brought the toilet seat to Home Depot to pair it up with a 5 gal bucket. The seat fits a $3 Home Depot bucket with no problem. I can even add 3 plastic bags and not have a problem with its installation and removal.I gave it a 4 stars though because the lid always misalign with the seat causing the lid to not be fully opened. I end up having to align it every time. Putting duct tape over both hinges solved this problem. So far, so good! 4
