Customer Reviews

Nice gun corfortable feel in hand... gun works great , dripless it really is , I use the inexpensive , read thin caulk which has a tendency to continue flow even with tube release from gun, most likely plunger mechanism inside tube binds and continues to force caulk out. Gun is well made , comfortable feel in hand, does not require a lot of pressure on trigger to start flow. Have as yet to drop it , so cannot attest to its durability, so far nice gun, with an easy pull and no drips.... 5Hand saver! This worked out perfectly for applying adhesive to my Styrofoam ceiling tiles. I liked how, by squeezing the trigger, it kept the adhesive coming out so I didn't need to keep squeezing it, which saved on my hand muscles. But as soon as I stopped squeezing, it stopped flowing. 5OK, but not the perfect caulking gun This is a well made caulking gun, but far from perfect. The mecanism takes the pressure off the cartridge when the trigger is released, so that the tube doesn't continue getting pressure and flow. However, this also makes it hard to apply enough pressure to thicker caulks - the rod just does not move under high pressure. And thinner caulks still drip, regardless. The hanging hook and ease of loading is nice. The puncture rod is barely long enough for some caulk tubes and not quite long enough for some of the more professional caulks that have long spouts. I am still searching for the "best" caulking gun. 3Thanks to other reviewers for steering me toward this model. I didn t have the hand strength (arthritis) to use our old metal caulk gun, but the Dripless ETS 2000 is so easy to use I wish I could put 2 thumbs up emojis in this review. If you have weak or arthritic hands, know this caulk gun requires so little pressure to squeeze that it even felt like I wasn t depressing the trigger when I was. The built-in slicer to cut the tip off the caulk tube is an added bonus. I don t know how long it will stay sharp as I ve only used two tubes, but the caulk gun is worth it even without it. 5Worth the Money Let me first start off be saying that I am not a professional nor am in the trades. I am a DIY guy. This caulk gun is actually quite impressive. It is slightly larger than the standard cheapo 3.00 home depot guns. It fits the same size standard caulk tubes (10.1 oz).The barrel (yellow part) turns a full 360 with no stops. This could be handy to turn the tube but the caulk tube I used spun inside the barrel without needing to turn the yellow. The back of the handle where your palm goes has some rubber coating. On the left side there is a tube nozzle cutter and on the right side there is metal rod used to punch out the tube down inside the fresh cut nozzle. This punch (don t know the real term for it) folds down and locks in place. To load it you simply pull the handle / thick metal rod stick out the back. This requires more force than that of the cheapo ones. Maybe five pounds of force. There is no lever to release like the cheapo ones. There is a rubber friction washer that allows tension to remain on the rod but you can push it back with some force. This allows the rod to slip backwards when you release the trigger easing the pressure inside the tube and keeping all the contents from continually squirting out the nozzle. This rubber washer I feel could potentially be a wear item that gives way after a certain amount of time. That could be 5 years or even 10 in my case. Only time will tell. The motion that pushes the rod forward is not that rubber washer but a metal lever similar to the cheapo ones. So even if the rubber wears it should not affect the intended purpose of this item as when you release the trigger, pressure will be released. When you squeeze there is good amount of force applied to the tube and when you release the trigger the pressure is released on the tube and therefor it stops dispensing which makes it drip-less. Obviously if you have some material hanging out it might drop off do to gravity. When using the gun in action this situation I would see happening. If you lightly squeeze the trigger and release you can actually see some of the caulk actually suck back onto the nozzle the pressure is released. In my opinion this tool is money well spent. I caulked the base board on my stairwell (both sides) without a towel and there was absolutely nothing on the carpet. The only cleanup was the tip of my finger from smoothing the caulk out in the crease.See the video (yes, I mistakenly say the comparison gun is 10, then 6 then 4. As of this post the cheapo guns run 2.77 at Home Depot) 5By far, the best caulking gun I've ever used! This tool is GREAT! Far better than the ones you can buy at your local home store! It's light and has good leverage for squeezing out thicker caulk easily, but best of all, no dripping and running-on after you release the handle! No having to pop the release after each pass! This gun makes caulking much faster and easier, and that means the quality of your beads will improve. And no having to clean up drips and hanging strings of goo that lesser caulking guns will leave on your finished surfaces.I just wish I had bought this years ago! 5This is the ONLY caulk gun I have found that is truly dripless. AWESOMMMME!! As a professional painter, 2-4 times per month I caulk for 6+ hours in a single day. I have tried at least 6 other caulk guns, some way more expensive that this one. This is the ONLY caulk gun I have found that is truly dripless. It is lightweight which helps when you are caulking 1 handed, or have to caulk for hours. It doesn't have the thrust capability to push old construction adhesive through it when you have a small hole in the end, but that isn't why I bought it. It works great with ordinary and fast drying caulks. And it doesn't drip. 5Great Value...actually "dripless" I would've initially given this a lower review had I not read others suggestions and took a tube of caulk to learn how to use this. I only use something like this to do occasional small home repairs, but with that said it is so much better then my retired "hardware" store gun. After a couple of failed attempts and a few feet of caulk I caught the curve and found myself finally finishing a caulk line without releasing pressure on my trigger early or having the caulk continue to stream. Its as simple as getting your trigger pressure down and making sure you have a quick release as you come to the end of your project. Once you get the hang of it this is definitely worth the money, and should suffice for any diy and home repair you might need it for. 5The go to choice for mess free caulking I recently had a DIY project at the house that required some caulking. Like a lot of people I have an old caulk gun that has been hanging around for years and, of course, I put that to work. And of course immediately hit the old problem of caulk flow not stopping when I finished a bead but there was still pressure pushing behind the caulk tube. I Googled for solutions and found a YouTube video of a guy demonstrating caulking technique who was, incidentally, using a very cool looking caulk gun. I of course then started searching for "dripless caulk gun" and found the Dripless ETS2000 Ergo Composite Caulk Gun. I ordered it right away. Having used it now on two projects I have to say this is the nicest, in terms of design and construction, and also the best performing caulk gun I have ever used. True to its name it is in fact dripless. A quick squeeze of the trigger without a tube in shows why. When you release pressure on the trigger the ram backs off just enough to stop adding pressure to the caulk tube. My old caulk gun advanced the ram to a fixed position and halted. The Dripless ETS2000 Ergo Composite Caulk Gun is cool looking, nice to handle, performs well, seems built to last, doesn't drip and is priced right. What's not to like? RECOMMENDED. 5It's the perfect caulk gun, at the perfect price This product was designed for those of us who hate to use the conventional caulk gun; that unwieldy, stamped metal contraption that drips caulk long after you've stopped squeezing the trigger. This device fixes all those shortfalls. It is ergonomic, lightweight, and most importantly stops dispensing product after you quit pulling the trigger! Of note: this item does not work all that well on highly viscous materials (like roof tar)... so don't toss your stamped metal caulk gun just yet. 5
