    If you are paranoid about company longevity, buy this part I bought this to have as a spare. I am paranoid these days about companies staying in business. The device this is for, The Drill Doctor 500X has worked very will for me. Customer Support has responded to all questions I have had. I would recommend the Drill Doctor to resharpen your drill bits. It is up to you to determine which model will work best for you but for me, the 500X does all I need until they improve the model that sharpens spade bits. 5Replacement stone for Drill Doctor. This is the replacement stone for the factory stone. Also look into a 100 grit stone. I have both. It will make your drill bit sharpening a lot faster and less wear on your Drill Doctor. Easy to replace and the two screws come with these if you need them. 5Received as expected Fits perfectly......I have been sharpening my wood bit for years and have saved a lot of money not having to buy new bits. 5DOESN'T HURT TO HAVE A SPARE. Figured a spare wheel for my Drill Dr. 750X wouldn't be a half-bad idea. Like the Drill Dr. unit itself, this is a quality product and while I'm not a contractor, just a household DIY'er, I like the idea of not having to discard dull/broken drill bits. Like the original wheel still in the machine, I'm certain it will work great. 5Finer wheel grit gives me a sharper drill bit edge Great replacement wheel, I wanted a finer polish to the drill bit instead of the coarse wheel. Makes for a sharper edge on the drill bit. 5The Drill Doctor is one heck of a machine The Drill Doctor is one heck of a machine. It takes a bit of head scratching to get it to work correctly, but then you will not ever have to buy another bit bigger than 1/8"I've sharpened several full set of jobber bits up to 1/2 several times, and the original stone is still in use. Bought this because when the other stops sharpening, I don't want to have to wait a week for a replacement.Don't leave home w/o it. 5Installing a new Drill Doctor Diamond Wheel Drill Doctor Diamond WheelThis wheel is the same quality as the original part, which, in my case, lasted through hundreds of sharpenings.An alternative to installing a new wheel is to reverse the existing one. I.e., remove the current wheel, turn it end-over-end, and reinstall. The drill bits I sharpened did not wear out the middle of the wheel, so reversing it provided new wheel life. Once it's been reversed, and it's worn again, a new wheel is required.If you're having trouble getting the old diamond wheel off the spindle, here's a tip told to me by Drill Doctor. Put the Drill Doctor in the freezer for 30 minutes and then, try again while the unit is still cold. This may sound silly, but it worked for me. The cold shrinks the metal parts just enough for the old wheel to slide right off. 5A nicely refreshed machine My original DD500 has sharpened countless bits. Every honing/sharpening stone needs to be replaced eventually and it was time for this one. A re sharpened 1/4" drill bit drill multiple holes in 12 gauge stainless steel. Best thing since sliced bread. 5
