    Poor quality, didn't last Wish the upper velcro area was more securely attached, mine is starting to "peel" off - the upper part is either double sided tape or glued on but the adhesive didn't hold very well, >3 months and it's separating, strap never seemed to stay secured while in use either, may have been better if the strap was secured more than just the two small areas of velcro. 2It came apart I used this shoulder pad for four (count 'em, 4) days and the rubber part separated from the black part. Actually, it had already begun to come apart in the package. I had one of these in the 90's and it lasted quite a while. I'm not sure what kind of glue they're using on these nowadays, but it's worthless. I should have sent it back right away, now I'm stuck with it. Maybe I'll see what type of glue/epoxy/adhesive is best for gluing quasi-foam rubber to quasi-leathery-plastic stuff and see if I can fix it.Maybe you'll have better luck with yours than I did. Good luck. 1A must have item for the price I added this to my Domke F-6 order and it feels really good on the shoulder. The pad is thin on one side and thick on the opposite side to adapt to your shoulder's natural slant. The two piece velcro attachment straps allow you to loosen the fit for easy travel of the strap thus allowing easier weight distribution of your bag when placing it forward or rearward of your side. My only complaint is the white color of the rubber pad. It shows grime for daily use in the field. Black would be the better choice for me if it were available. for the white only choice, I give it four stars otherwise it's a sound investment to enhance the functionality of your bag. 4I like that it has a thicker edge on one side ... I've been using this shoulder pad for over a year now and it is still holding its shape and doing its job. I like that it has a thicker edge on one side so that it conforms well to my shoulder. However, it does mean it is not as great a fit on the other shoulder. The foam is squishy enough that I sometimes just put it on my other shoulder anyway for a short while. The pad is also sort of heavy but it has to be in order to have the cushioning power that it has. Over all I like it and would recommend it to others who have pretty heavy shoulder bags (I often have an ipad mini, 1-2 cell phones, macbook air 11 (no power cord though), portable battery pack plus short cables/adaptors for the apple gear, pencil case, large wallet, a bottle of water, and up to an inch thick stack of paper (I'm a teacher) in my canvas shoulder bag. It's heavy and the pad helps a lot. 4This is overrated IMO I bought it reading all the favorable review on Amazon. While is not a bad product but certainly it does not hold up to its review either. First of all, is this comfortable? Yes it is comfortable than having nothing. How comfortable it is? I would say 3 out of 5. And that's the justification of my rating.Little bit of context; I bought it for my camera bag where I carry one camera, one point and shoot camera, two or three lenses and couple of other camera oriented gear. Total weight about 10-15lb.Pros.1. It provides some extra pad (that's what it is suppose to do)2. The velcro is really strong and it can hold item really well3. The top part is rubbery, so the strap does not moveCons.1. The top rubbery part is attach to the bottom part with some kind of glue, and open and closing the velcro actually detach the top part from the bottom part.2. It is heavy and it is way bigger than than it seems from the picture3. The cushion itself is not very soft.4. The depth is not uniform, hence you can have your strap in a single way, unless you open up the velcro and flip it over 3Totally worth it. Very Durable and functional. I purchased this shoulder pad in March of 2014 (over 5 years ago as of this writing). I am a IT field technician and use this shoulder pad on my work bag. I carry this bag with me everywhere for 8 hours/day 5 days/week and it has held up remarkably well. When I first purchased the pad I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was but after 5 years and counting of great service i was proven wrong. 5Amazing product I have carried shoulder slung bags of various kinds weighing 2-10 lbs and have always had the same problems; a) the strap tends to slide down your shoulder b) strap digs into your shoulder. This product solves both problems nicely. First, the pad is wedge shaped, being very thick on one side and very thin on the other. This allows the strap to sit in a "level" manner on your tapper shoulder. Second, the dense, rubberized foam is soft yet firm. It grips your clothing and resists slipping while also distributing the load over a broad surface area. Its well constructed with strong velcro used in the attachment tabs. It fits the Domke strap on my Chronicle bag perfectly. I will likely purchase additional pads to go on other non-Domke bags. 5Prevents "shoulder slippage", plus strong velcro I really love this product because, unlike other padded shoulder straps, the foam is thicker on one long side than on the other. The thicker side is worn facing your arm and counteracts the downward slope of your shoulders. Because of this the strap doesn't tend to ride down and nearly slip off when heavy loads are being carried. Made of heavy duty closed cell foam which will probably last forever, and I have never encountered velcro fasteners that are so tough to pull apart. 5Sticky after washing The padding was fairly comfortable but what I really liked was my camera bag strap no longer dug into my shoulders after walking around with it all day.The reason I'm giving it 1-star is someone recently stepped on it and left a shoe print on it. I washed it under tap water (no detergent) and used a soft brush and the shoe print came off quickly. I hung it to dry in the sun and now the foam material along the edges is so sticky that it sticks to my clothing. If I put the strap down and it touches something (dust, paper) it now sticks to the foam. It was not sticky before I washed it with water. It is too bad they didn't enclose the foam in some material. 1Happy shoulder! Purchased this for my husband who carries his laptop and other heavy items in his message bag. He started to complain of shoulder pain and muscle fatigue and I searched for something that would help remove the pressure. I found this shoulder pad that attaches to ANY strap with velcro and with heavy padding. The padding itself is designed to relieve any pressure points on the shoulder by sloping away from the body. After a few adjustments my husband reports that he happily walks across campus to and from work with ease and pleasure rather than pain! Two thumbs up and no regrets with this purchase! 5
