    Absolutely the best available. Costly but worth it. Just awesome. That was I was missing for years.Works very fast on any steel - including S30V , D2 and VG-10. I wish I had all the grits or that Amazon sold a kit with all the grits and holder in a seriously constructed storage case. This is the quality of tool that deserves a strong case. I'll have to spend a few evenings making a fine wood case, probably using maple and mahogany with either a synthetic felt, Naugahyde, or even real leather coated dividers to protect the diamond surfaces. 5this device is the best. The sharpening surface slides out I have a variety of sharpening tools and for blades needing further honing, this device is the best. The sharpening surface slides out, allowing it to be reversed, depending upon whether I want a fine or super fine edge. In addition, I feel I get more consistent results with a stationary tool vs a hand-held device. My knives are Shun Kaji and Kramer, the latter holding a sharp edge the longest. Diamond sharpeners do a much better job than metal or ceramics in producing a clean, smooth blade. 5
