Crap quality - phillips head bits strip immediately. Made in China junk! Buy Swiss made! Crap quality - phillips head bits strip immediately. Made in China junk! Buy Swiss made! 1Repetitive selection of a few bit types in a big case Here is what you get:1 Magnetic dish1 Small, empty removeable storage box1 bit holder with drive guide1 normal bit holder3 nut drivers (1/4", 5/16", 3/8")1 1/2" socket adapter1 1/4" socket adapter17 drill bits in 12 sizes 1/16" through 3/8".4 long bits of 4 types (P1, P2, SL8, SQ2)6 medium bits of 6 types (P1, P2, SQ1, SQ2, T20, T25)45 small bits of 14 types (2x SQ3, 5x SQ2, 2x SQ1, 3x P3, 6x P2, 2x P1, T40, T30, 5x T25, 5x T20, 2x T15, 3x SL10, 3x SL8, 3x SL6)The breakdown of the small bits is somewhat odd. Relatively few sizes are represented, but you get lots of duplicates. Really need 5 Torx T20 and 5 Torx T25 bits? This is the set for you.My biggest complaint though is with the storage box. It is unnecessarily huge! It is 2/3rds the size of a full drill case and more than half of the inside is just empty space. You could get a Dewalt 20-piece drill bit set and a 37-piece screwdriving set for almost the same price with almost the same bit selection, but those two cases combined are 1/3rd the size of this case.Other than the waste-of-space case, this is a great set. 3I hate buying something that should be durable and have it ... I had a black oxide drill set I had been using for a little while. I m apparently no Bob Vila and found myself with quite a few broken bits. Basically everything smaller than was ruined. Usually on metal that I was drilling into. I guess I put too much pressure on the bit? Not really sure. Most of them broke as soon as it passed thru the metal and sheared off if it ever got a little misaligned with the grooves in them.So I really wanted a buy it for life type product. I hate buying something that should be durable and have it consumed in a short amount of time. Yes, this product is more expensive than the black oxide bits but what you are buying is TITANIUM and peace of mind that these are of a higher quality than other cheaper options. You definitely get what you pay for with drill bits and I haven t had a single one of these break on me with no change in my drill or substrate. I had to assemble a dog kennel and it required drilling into steel alloy pipe and these things worked like a charm. I then had to install a storm door and the aluminum was no match for these titanium bits. I m quite confident I would have broken the other set (if they weren t already broken) during the installation which would have required another visit to home depot for a simple home improvement project.Do yourself a favor and buy the better quality bits. Even if you only use them once in a blue moon you will save yourself money in the long run by not having to replace them right away 5Decent set / Nice Case Overall a decent screwdriving set. Contains enough tips that one should be able to get a good fit with most common types of fasteners. The case is handy. As others have noted, the bits on the left side of the case are hard to get back into the slot. It is not impossible and with a bit of practice can be done fairly quickly. I have uploaded a diagram showing the contents of the kit. 4Cheap bit set, works okay for what it is A cheap, semi-disposable screwdriving set. Fine for occasional DIY housework, but not suitable for a serious workshop or serious handyman. The bits are made in China and relatively soft. They don't hold up to impact drivers for long, but they work fine with a drill driver. The screwholder thing came loose on me and now slides too far back and forward. It still halfway works but its more awkward to use and saves me less time. If you switch to Torx screws with quality tight-tolerance Torx bits you won't need this gizmo anyway. The steel on these is relatively soft or poorly tempered, I'd guess somewhere in the high 40s on the rockwell scale. They get beat up pretty quickly with hard use. These bits are also extremely prone to rust. If you leave them in a high humidity environment for a couple of days, expect to find rust. If they get doused in water you'd better dry them off thoroughly or they'll be covered in rust. 3Great Assortment, Great Case I have used these drill bits for a very long time under very heavy use and they are still sharp. These destroy everything they drill through. I originally bought them to go with my cordless drill and have been endlessly impressed with them. The set features a good assortment and amazon offers a price lower than home improvement stores. One of my favorite features is the case. Having drill bits that last so long usually means the case will fall apart before they are done. I have owned craftsman drill bits in the past and the "hinge" of the case always breaks apart after opening and closing so many times. This case is extra heavy duty and hasn't failed me yet. I highly recommend the set as a whole. 5NOT very useable surprisingly... I cannot believe I am having to say this about a Dewalt product. I am so used to them being about as good as you can get, but I found serious useability issues with this set.The case is good and strong with the usual sliding lock. The problems start out as very minor, but slowly get worse. The case has lots of sharp edges and after a long day working, if your fingers are tender, the case is not too comfortable to use. It also has lots of spaces inside which trap dirt, and worse rain. This speeds up corrosion of the boys inside when you close it up to go off site. The bits themselves are tempered well, and accurately ground. However they seem so determined to stamp them as made in China, and Dewalt, that it is hard to tell if it supposed to be a P1, P2 or P3 type bit and so on. One bit was not marked at all and two were so faint that I practically needed a microscope to read what they were. PLEASE less of the "China" and "Dewalt" I know who you are and where you are made. I am more interested in knowing what size you are. Or stamp them properly at the very least. The bit selection is a bit odd also. Possibly too many P2 bits? Certainly too many S2 bits at they do not wear as quickly and are common mainly in Canada. The arrangement of the bits in my set was odd, with the P3 in with the S series of bits and so on.These are fairly trivial so far, but where it becomes much more of a problem is getting them in and out. Mine will not press back in, as the little black tabs get pressed inside the rest of the holder if you try. You have to slide them back in, and that is not easy as space is cramped. The holders do not even swivel up to make it easier to get them back in. They tessalate into the case, so cannot move. It is even really difficult to get the holders in and out at all, as I don't think they are meant to be tampered with.I am lucky, I had an old blow-molded case from a cheap set of bits I got years ago. So I was able to move them into that as the proper Dewalt case is so unusable. One last problem was that I don't understand the markings on the slotted bits? I am used to them being marked according to the width of the blade, or even a combination of the width and thickness. I ended up with my micrometer trying to make sense of one marked "8" being 6 .97mm, pretty much just 1mm more than the one marked "6" , but 1mm less than what I would have thought it should be. 1Long term investment. I work in Aircraft Structural Maintenance, meaning that I live day to day using a drill. At home I expect quite a lot from my tools. These bits stand the test. As long as one practices high pressure slow speed on steel, and high pressure high speed on aluminum, the life expectancy is outstanding! I purchased this set in 2009 and finally am replacing it with the same set now in 2016. That speaks for itself.Side note: if you plan to do a lot of hard steel (stainless) or titanium I would choose cobalt bits (material not brand). 5Thankfully Amazon has great customer service and took them back These bits were junk. Shame on you DeWalt. If you want to save money and have them made in China at least exercise some quality control. These bit were NOT properly heat treated. Drill bits when PROPERLY heat treated break not bend. I bent both 1/8 bits and the 1/4 bit. Thankfully Amazon has great customer service and took them back. I will not buy DeWalt bits again! 1This is your final stop. They work, they help make holes, blah, blah...here's what you really need to know:*** The small bits don't snap! No breaky! ***I've been using the DW1163 and DW1354 sets for three years, and they've gotten much more use than any bits I've used in the past (new, big house, new, big projects). With every other set of bits I've ever owned (probably really cheap bits, honestly), I'd snap one of the smallest bits in the first one or two uses. Every time. With the DeWalts, they just go and go...pilots here, pilots there, drill, drill, drill, baby! 5
