    I bought this with a good dewalt concrete grinding blade and the 7" dewalt dust ...It's a beast. I bought this with a good dewalt concrete grinding blade and the 7" dewalt dust shroud to complete an 84 Unit apartment building that I am putting hardwood floors in. I was renting a 10" stand up concrete grinder to smooth out the cracks in each unit before installing new hardwood floors when, after the 4th (of about a total of 16 rentals in all that cost a minimum of $300 each rental) rental I decided it was worth buying a big tool for the job and save the building owner some $ at the same time if he would split the cost of tools with me ... He agreed! So I ordered them from Amazon. When the tools arrived I got busy rite away on the floors. The first unit I used the DWE4597 on, I connected my shop-vac but it was a little too much suction and at that point I decided to go ahead and order the DeWalt 10 gallon dust collection system (also, a GREAT tool, but a bit pricey for DeWalt). The DWE4597 cuts the concrete at least twice as fast as the 200lb stand up 10" Unit that I had been renting... And it's all MINE!!!!!!Thank you AMAZON. Another great priced tool shipped to me (as always) two days after placing the order!4They fixed a bad internal wiring connector while I waitedmost powerful grinder I have used, I own Milwaukee and Blastrac and the Dewalt blows the others away. Had 1 problem, It quit while using, took to local repair center. They fixed a bad internal wiring connector while I waited, about 20 minutes, no charge. Great grinder, great service. I use it for grinding concrete with the Dewalt 10 gal dust extractor. Great combo!5Very powerful!This is a hefty tool that will work you almost as must as that to which it is being applied. But it gets the work done rapidly.4Great for Tile Thinset Removal with a Diamond Cup WheelI am remodeling a condo with slab floors and needed this to remove the old tile thinset left on the floor after demo of the tiles. At first I tried the jack hammer with a 3" chisel bit. It worked pretty well, created a bit of dust but made a lot of noise and the finished product still needed cleaning up with a grinder.I already owned a 5" grinder and diamond cup wheel. I used that at first. Without water a huge dust cloud. With water a messy slurry that got everywhere. It took 6 hours to do a 3x5 guest bath floor. And the cup was worn out.With a twice as large 2nd bath and 10 times as large master bath, I knew something else had to be used. So I purchased a DeWalt 7" grinder and this Cup Wheel. I also purchased a Dewalt Vacuum Shroud. After getting everything all hooked up and testing out the setup, all I can say is Wow! What a Difference. The vacuum caused the grinder to stay down on the floor while the larger cup and motor that turns it really powers out the thinset. It literally took 15 mins to do the twice as large 2nd bath.The master is next....The only thing that I can say is to make sure you have a good vac that can handle dust. Mine clogged every 3 mins or about every 4 ft2 of surface area. I then had to take off the filter and tap in while holding it in a tightly wrapped around my wrist garbage bag. Then the filter would work fine again for a bit. I am taking a vortex vac drum with me tomorrow to make the vacuum deal with less dust. It will sit inline between the grinder and vac to capture most of the dust in the vortex canister. I know there are custom drywall sanding vacs and others that are specifically designed for small dust and that is what you want.The made an arduous task seem silly in retrospect. Even though the 3 new pieces of gear cost me $400 it is now something in my tool arsenal that has already paid for itself on this one job. The Cup Wheel by the way did wear about 1/16 inch on the 25 ft2 it was used on. If you grind down into the concrete it will wear faster. I try to do even smooth passes and bump the trigger. I do not keep in on full 8500 RPM. I would estimate that it will do about 400 ft2 of thinset over slab. Also try to keep it flat as you can wear the edges of the cup disc faster if you tilt it. The shroud and vac do a great job of helping to keep it flat to the floor.5 Stars Easy! Hope this grinder lasts many more years!5Five StarsGreat tool.5Heavy grinder for heavy grinding.Heavy grinding does not cause this machine to get hot. It most definitely has good vibration dampening. I have run this machine constantly for two hours at a time and can put my bare hand on the aluminum gear housing.
