    Easy cable routing I ran cat 6 cable throughout the house, replacing cat 5e cable along baseboards and behind appliances with cable routed out of sight inside crawlspaces and walls. Where I could I paired cat 6 keystone couplers with keystone wall plates, but in one place I needed cables to run both into and out of the wall. This wall plate was perfect for that application.The plate mounts easily in the hole I cut by following the included template. When the screws are tightened the plate is solidly attached to the wall. It's not possible to see in the product picture but the back of the plate is curved to guide the cables out. If you mount this vertically the cables will enter from the left or right; mount it horizontally and they will enter from the top or bottom. The space available for cables is quite large. For my application this plate worked out great - no complaints.I uploaded a picture of the plate I installed, though I didn't think to take a picture until after I moved furniture in front of it. I did that not because I wanted to hide the plate but because that's where the cables came up from the basement. This plate would look fine in the open as well. Recommended. 5These were so easy to install and looked very clean These were so easy to install and looked very clean. We recently wall mounted our TV and I saw some very expensive kits to hide the cords. This is a simple and easy method! We cut the holes then inserted a wrapping paper cardboard tube through the wall and dropped the cords though that so they didn't get stuck in the insulation. Worked like a charm. Every cord easily fit though the opening. 5Cheap price Amazing everything else I love this product. If you are looking for a simple easy way of hiding cables and do not want to over pay this item is amazing. It is cheap and super easy to install. No need for a mounting bracket so you save even more money. We are remodeling our house and bought some of these because my husband is a HUGE electronic geek. So he wanted the "WOW" factor when people come over. I did my research and found out that these are some of the best to buy because it is so easy to install that you don't need instructions. So because my husband isn't big on reading I ordered some of these. I couldn't be happy with my purchase. It only took about 2 minutes to install both in the wall and it looks amazing. Holds 3 cables no problem. I will say that if you are wanting to use this mount for your television you may want to consider buying one with a receptacle because most television do not give a really long cable. 5No Power Tools: The Wings Break I have 3 of these functional in my home and will be adding 4 more. Unlike the recessed power receptacle version that has metal wings for anchoring in the sheetrock, this has plastic wings. ANY use of power tools where you cannot feel the tension on the wing is not advised. Even at slow speeds you will break these clips. Use a small screwdriver and tighten until there is enough tension to hold in place and no more. If installing on a wall with insulation, I advise pulling a out a shallow layer to prevent spring-back that would put excessive tension on the wings. You can fill with sealing foam to compensate if desired, but only after your cables are relatively fixed and non-changing. You might also consider buying more than one unit in case you break the first one getting to know the product.Also, pull your cables before putting this in place. Too much handling will break it. Remember that you can orient it any way you like to make running the cables optimal. It will fit cables with fairly large heads, but anything bigger than a typical 3-prong AC head might get a little awkward. 3Great for in wall cables and installation, gives it a clean professional look My husband used these to connect some wall rated coaxial cables in wall to two satellite speakers located in the back corners of our living room. taking the same space as an outlet, the Datacomm plate (at least with our wall color) hides better into the wall, and thought the opening to place the cables into may seem a bit big, the fact that the plastic in the middle curves and makes the cables turn downward prevents you from seeing anything other than black plastic. I was concerned that once installed I'd be able to see through the opening behind it but no, it looks like a clean installation. Though he only had two coaxial cables coming out of the plate, a large variety of cables are able to pass through if need be. Highly recommended. 5A Simple Short-Term but Non-Ideal Solution This product would probably work decently well in a drywall application that didn't require any further wiring. Even so, I wouldn't bet on it working for a very long period of time.The plastic wings feel cheap and are tricky to get right, if you don't end up breaking them.I was trying to install one vertically (taller than wide, portrait orientation) but couldn't get the wings to rotate and lock into place like they're supposed to. 3Great idea. Wish it was a little bit more sturdy Love the idea and one worked fine. The second one I bought the latch with the screw that moves out to hold in place on the wall broke. The screw didn't want to tighten with the latch in place. After multiple tries getting it in place the plastic latch broke. Now it's just sitting in the wall hoping that one side doesn't come out and break the other side. 3Very easy installation and look nice Works perfectly and looks very sleek against the wall. *Word of caution* - make sure you have adequate space away from studs as the wings need room to go out. I made this mistake but was able to get it to stay after some adjustments. 5Amazing Product Why did i buy?: I purchased these to allow running cables through my wall to go from my laptop to my external monitors.Packing: [see photos in photo gallery] These have a very simple package; just the housing inside of a plastic bag. While i do prefer having a box, i realize that a bag will cut costs and i'm sure everyone can agree that saving a few dollars in leu of not having a box is a good trade off.Product: I have owned a few products like this in the past, but this is WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST I HAVE HAD in this category. The plastic feels very sturdy and is fairly hard and thus is resistant to scratchingInstallation: The instructions include a paper cut-out for the exact size hole to cut in your wall. Simply place this on your wall, trace around the edges, and take either a drywall saw or a jigsaw and cut out the hole. Once the hole is cut, you place the housing in the hole and tighten the screws. When the screws are tightened, they lower the locking clamps down and that is what holds this unit to the wall. Once the unit is on the wall, it is very sturdy.Overall: Overall, this was a great purchase. It makes the running of cables through the wall look very clean and professional. I do not regret this purchase and i highly recommend this product[Stay tuned for more updates in the future...] 5Cheap plastic wings break easily I would not purchase these again. The price was cheap and that is what I got -- cheap. I purchased two of them to run wires across a ceiling and on both of them, the plastic wings broke. I used a regular screwdriver, so I know it was not being installed forcefully. I had to take the wings off of regular old-work boxes and put them on these to make them work. 2
