    For $70 I would expect better, it fried in 30 daysThere are no installation instructions with this unit except for three wiring diagrams only 1 of which applies and the other two are for different products. Second there is no way to securely attach the glass part. It hangs loosely on the plastic parts. This means that if it is brushed it will fall and the glass will break which makes no sense. The technical support person said "this is the way we do it." Then 30 days after installing the chime it fried, producing a burning smell and taking the transformer with it. I called and they said it required a very heavy gauge wire which was not mentioned in the product description and I doubt most houses have. I am having a hard time getting it sent back. You can do better than this for much less.1Really Cool Doorbell!This is an awesome doorbell! Everyone like the light factor and it is awesome that the LEDs can be dimmed! Easy to install and looks great. I would say that the glass does feel a little fragle but on the wall you would never know! I'm several months into having this in my house with zero issues!5i didn't see anything like that mentioned beforehad to turn it sideways to cover the existing electrical box in the wall.one issue is the chimes sound cheap. they are not very resonant.the second issue is our doorbell button is long and skinny and based on how you press the button (top / bottom / middle) sometimes only one chime sounds. i know that's an issue with the button itself but i just wanted folks to know this might happen. i didn't see anything like that mentioned before.3Good quality doorbellThis is a good looking doorbell, more stylish than the construction grade doorbell that was in our home. This one is not lighted but there is one that is from the same manufacturer that does, but not on Amazon. The doorbell can be mounted vertical or horizontal. The chime is fairly loud but a pleasant tone.5LOVE how this looks!I trolled Amazon for a while before I came across this doorbell chime. The reviews were good, and I liked that it didn't look like the same old, same old doorbell chime. The oiled bronze and tea-stained glass matches my hall light fixtures perfectly, it actually looks like a light fixture. Our electrician remarked on the quality/craftsmanship of it as he easily installed it. It has two tones (one ring for the back door and two for the front), and is loud enough for me (I wear hearing aids) to hear clearly upstairs in our large, quiet house. Not sure how clearly it'll be heard when there's crowd noise, but we'll have to wait on that. The casing can be installed horizontally or vertically. We chose vertical, and the "innards" are not noticeable from below. I'm happy to recommend this chime to others.5Be sure to have enough wire to reach the terminals and still keep them away from the chime bars.The holes for wiring to come through are really close to the chime bars. You have to very careful they don't touch or your chime notes will be distorted. I just installed it 11/7/19 and so far it works as stated. Only 1 of the mounting holes in the wall lined up, but the cover was large enough to cover them, so nothing shows and I don't have to do any spackling and painting.4Low volumeI like the design, the colors, and the materials. This door bell is made of cast iron and glass. Great improvement for the cheap white plastic I previously had. My only complain the volume is too low.3LopsidedWe debated for a month whether to purchase this door chime. Looked everywhere else since it is quite pricey. Couldn't find anything else we liked or that fit our renovation. I was so excited when it arrived. So sad when I opened the box and it was lopsided!! The horizontal bands aren't horizontal, they are diagonal. Real bummer. sending it back of course (which is the nice part of buying from amazon- no hassle free return).1Great at this price point!I spent a lot of time looking at doorbell chime covers, and this was at a price point I could afford. I am so happy I bought it because it really beats the white plastic cover I had up there before! :) Although it is more cheaply made than pricier models, this is more than adequate at this price point. If your chime cover is located up high, like most, you'll never notice the plastic covering. I'm so happy I went with this model, because it looks great.Note: a lot of people seemed disappointed that it was not back-lit. Just pay attention to the description, and you'll get exactly what the written description describes: no light!5Looks and sounds great.First off the weight is actually about 2 pounds not 20 as the description says, thank to all the users who answered my question. It arrived quick and in perfect condition, installed in about 5 mins, F.Y.I you do no not need the transformer if you're replacing an already installed chime. The color and pattern in the glass and the bronze framing matched the light fixtures in my hallway perfectly as well5
